00:00The government deeply regrets that despite this history of collaboration and partnership,
00:07South Sudan now faces a broad revocation of visas based on an isolated incident involving
00:14misrepresentation by an individual who is not a South Sudanese national.
00:20Comprehensive verification processes confirm that this individual is a national of the
00:26Democratic Republic of Congo, named Makula Kintu.
00:32In accordance with our immigration protocols, he was not admitted and was subsequently returned
00:39to the sending country for further processing.
00:46Both Juba and Washington need to provide more information about this particular person,
00:50so this person's problem that led to the political deterioration between Juba and Washington
00:55is properly explained because we believe there's a lot of secrets behind this particular
01:00person in terms of his deportation and rejection or non-acceptance for him to be deported to
01:06South Sudan by South Sudanese governments.
01:12And I think that also goes together with the frustration of U.S. government on the political
01:15development of the country where our leaders are unable to believe her, and we have seen
01:19issues of election, U.S. is disappointed, issues of violations of arms embargo, U.S.
01:24is disappointed, and we have seen U.S. disappointed in terms of protection of humanitarian workers
01:29including human rights activists who are at risk, so I think all these have created a
01:34pressure that have mounted through this element of deportation of U.S. to make this decision
01:39and we seek more clarity from Washington and from Juba.
01:51When we heard this statement, all of us were shocked because many of South Sudanese, they
01:56have their families in America, also some of them they are here in South Sudan, so they
02:01used to go and come back.
02:03So if there's an issue like this, I think that that is going to affect many people in
02:08South Sudan.
02:09As you know, we have been in long and in the war for 21 years, and then many of our brothers
02:19has been journey to America, and then America is the one who has been take them, the one
02:25who took them before to America, so they are citizen, they are resident in America for
02:30long years.
02:31So that is why when we get our independence, we say thank you very much America, now our
02:36citizen let them come and they see their villages, they start to come back and go back, come
02:40back and go back, and then the same time, most of them they have this dual passport.
02:47So they have been moving between South Sudan and America.
02:50So if they are stopped, that they are not going to be given a visa for them, this mean
02:55that these children who are in America, their fathers will remain here in South Sudan, or
03:00some fathers, their children, they will remain in South Sudan, then the fathers will be in
03:04America, so I think that is going to affect the system of the community in South Sudan.
