ITCZ to bring scattered rains to Mindanao, Palawan; easterlies to cause hot weather in the rest of PH

00:00We still haven't monitored any typhoons or low-pressure areas inside and outside of our Philippine Area of Responsibility.

00:12But for now, we have two weather systems that are affecting our country.

00:17First is the Intertropical Convergence Zone or ITCZ that is affecting the southern Mindanao.

00:24Second is the Easter Leaves or the hot and humid winds coming from the Pacific Ocean.

00:30And this is also the one that brings hot weather to a large part of our country.

00:37For the weather that we will see today here in Miloson, we expect that our weather will be clear.

00:45But we also expect that our afternoon will be hot and humid until afternoon.

00:51There will be occasional rains and localised thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon and night.

00:57The temperature in Metro Manila will be high, 24 to 34 degrees Celsius.

01:02Lawag, 26 to 33 degrees Celsius.

01:05For Togagaraw, we expect 24 to 33 degrees Celsius.

01:09Baguio, 17 to 25 degrees Celsius.

01:12Tagaytay, 22 to 32 degrees Celsius.

01:15And Legazpi, 26 to 32 degrees Celsius.

01:19If we saw earlier in the satellite imagery, the ITCZ, this is its axis.

01:25So we expect that it will bring scattered rains, especially here in Palawan, Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan,

01:34Lanao del Norte, Lanao del Sur, and Misamis Occidental.

01:39Meanwhile, for the southern part of Mindanao and the whole of Visayas,

01:44we also expect that our weather will be hot, like the Easterlies.

01:49The chances of localised thunderstorms are also high, especially in the eastern section of Visayas and Mindanao.

01:57The temperature for Calayaan Islands and Puerto Princesa, 25 to 33 degrees Celsius.

02:03For Iloilo, 25 to 33 degrees Celsius.

02:06Tacloban, 26 to 33 degrees Celsius.

02:09Cebu, 27 to 32 degrees Celsius.

02:12Zamboanga, 24 to 34 degrees Celsius.

02:15Cagayan de Oro, 24 to 32 degrees Celsius.

02:18And Dabao, 24 to 33 degrees Celsius.

02:22For our heat index yesterday here in Metro Manila, we recorded 41 to 38 degrees Celsius,

02:29respectively here in Minayia and Science Garden.

02:33The highest we recorded was 46 degrees Celsius in Birak, Catanduanes.

02:3843 degrees Celsius here in Dagupan City, Pangasinan, and Sangli Point, Cavite City, Cavite.

02:46For our forecast for today's heat index here in Metro Manila,

02:50we expect a high of 39 to 41 degrees Celsius.

02:54For the highest, it is still possible that our highest is still here in Birak, Catanduanes, with 44 degrees Celsius.

03:02This was followed again by 43 degrees Celsius here in Sangli Point, Cavite City, Cavite.

03:0842 degrees Celsius in Dagupan City, Pangasinan, Subic Bay, Olongapo City, Cuyo, Palawan, Rojas City, Capiz, Iloilo City, and Dumangas here in May, Iloilo.

03:20We can see that this is a danger level, so be careful, especially with this heat of the weather.

03:26We do not have any gale warnings for any seaboards in our country.
