00:00Thank you very much and good morning. You know this deep into the session and you
00:06have the speaker introducing you never know how it might go but we have had a
00:13wonderful and incredible and productive few weeks during our legislative session
00:20and as much fun as we've had I can't say that I'm sad that it is coming to a
00:25close here in a couple of weeks but it is wonderful to be with this group and to
00:30see so many of our incredible legislators that are working so hard to
00:35improve our state each and every day if we could just have them stand and be
00:40recognized I think it's so important that they are here and showing up and
00:47in the midst of everything for them to take a break and be here I think shows
00:59where their heart is and what their mission is and what their calling is so
01:03we appreciate your willingness to be here this morning and we are glad to open the
01:09doors Brian and I are thankful that this is the way that we get to start our day
01:14as well and we are also glad that our kids have already left and made it to
01:19school we think on time you know in having three kids that are 12 11 and 9 the
01:29activity around here can look a little different than it does right now this
01:34room when there are no tables and chairs can be quickly converted into a laser tag or
01:39nerf battle scene and I have to say those are pretty fun as well and but you
01:47know we moved in about two and a half years ago and having grown up in this
01:52house it was important that we continued some of their traditions that my
01:57family started when my dad was governor and this was one of them hosting events
02:03like this now our boys have shaken things up slightly different than my
02:08brothers who were already in high school and college when my dad became governor
02:12in fact one of the first few weeks that we moved into this house there's a lot of
02:17space out there and I couldn't find our two boys so I go off and search trying to
02:23locate them look outside I heard them before I saw them and I get out to see
02:32that they have practically stripped down into their underwear and are swimming in
02:36the front fountain of the governor's mansion welcome to Arkansas so I go
02:44outside and I asked our boys I said hey guys what in the world are you doing you
02:49can't do this and our youngest George who was about seven at the time looks at me
02:53he goes it's okay mom be cool he's like it's really shallow don't worry we won't
03:02drown or anything I said George my concern isn't that you're going to drown it's the
03:07fact that you have absolutely no problem being in the front yard of the
03:11governor's mansion and nothing but your underwear he was totally unfazed and went
03:16right back to the fountain but we're shaking things up here a little bit but
03:20certainly holding on to some of the most important traditions this being one of
03:26them it is such an honor to have this group gathered guests from literally every corner of
03:33our state showing up and making a public declaration of their faith and Brian and I
03:40are honored and proud to welcome each of you and be here for this event this morning I also want
03:46to thank Donnie thank you for welcoming and planning today's event I know that a lot goes into
03:51this and we are grateful for what you do to make it all happen and again a huge thank you to our
03:57legislative and community leaders and of course our keynote speaker we are glad to welcome you back
04:04home Arkansas has a lot to pray for this morning including a lot of the hardship that we have endured and
04:13experienced over the last couple of weeks yesterday I visited with some of Arkansans impacted by tornadoes
04:19and floods my administration has been working hard to respond and emergency personnel are on the
04:26ground working overtime to help many Arkansans who have been impacted in the last several weeks we've
04:33had tornadoes wildfires and snow all in the last month frankly I think some of us are just waiting
04:41on the locust to show up but as busy as it can get with disaster response and recovery we can always
04:48take time to start our day off right with a word of prayer and I'll be honest biscuits and gravy don't
04:54hurt too much either I think the Psalms are especially appropriate in a time like this God is our refuge our
05:02strength we will not fear Jenny Allen is our keynote speaker this morning and I can't think of anyone better
05:09equipped to inspire our state during this difficult time she's one of the most prolific and popular
05:15Christian women authors anywhere in the country but her ministry stretches far beyond books and podcasts
05:24she's on a mission one that involves every country every congregation every man woman and child in the
05:33world I know there are some who say that in the age of technology faith is going to fall by the wayside I
05:40I see it too frankly it's easy to get sucked into your phone and the busyness of everyday life that
05:47you forget about God and your faith but Jenny is turning that problem on its head harnessing the power
05:54of technology to reach across borders and languages and touch more people than ever with the gospel just in
06:03February alone she hosted gather 25 a 25-hour prayer event that reached 7 million people in 21,000 groups
06:12across 225 countries and territories don't worry I promise today is not a 25-hour event Jenny had one word and I
06:26think I have to agree miracle God call calls us to share his word his story and he calls on us to use it and
06:35spread his word in ways we would never have thought possible Jenny understands that our job is to help share
06:41God's love but others decision to accept it and God's job to save them Jenny is living out that mission every
06:50single day in every way we can imagine we are so grateful that you are joining us here in Arkansas
06:57and I'm especially thrilled that we get to welcome you back home to everyone who is sharing a word of
07:03prayer this morning thank you for being here thank you for sharing God's message God bless you and God
07:10bless the great and best state in the country thank you so much
