UK royals welcomed at Quirinale Palace on second day of state visit to Rome

It is the King's first overseas trip since he was briefly hospitalised for side effects from his cancer treatment.

00:00King Charles III and Queen Camilla were welcomed by Italian President Sergio Mattarella at
00:06the Quirinale Palace on Tuesday, on the second day of their state visit to Italy.
00:14The royal couple were escorted to the palace by a group of more than 30 mounted presidential
00:19guards, where they enjoyed a joint flyover by Italy's Frecce Tricolori and the RAF's
00:26red arrows.
00:30The pair then visited some of Rome's iconic landmarks, including the Tomb of the Unknown
00:35Soldier where they laid a wreath and enjoyed a special tour of the Colosseum, meeting school
00:40children and being cheered by crowds.
00:43I came here from Bologna, and it's a great emotion because it's the first time I see them
00:51and I really liked them.
00:55On Wednesday, President Mattarella will host a state banquet for the royals for their
00:5920th wedding anniversary.
