00:06Condition! Safe Care! It's gotten to the point in New South Wales where conditions
00:10are declining, we're hemorrhaging staff, you know, we are currently dealing with
00:14ballooning wait lists for surgery, ballooning wait lists for specialist
00:18outpatient clinics, ballooning wait times in our emergency department simply
00:22because we don't have the staff to see our patients. Patient care is declining
00:26simply by virtue of the fact that we can't staff our hospitals appropriately,
00:30we're chronically understaffed and enough's enough. Any one of our doctors
00:34here who are striking today could make 20 or 30 percent more money just by simply
00:39moving to Brisbane or Melbourne and at this point, you know, we're finding that
00:45we're losing hope in discussions with the state government on these issues, you
00:50know, we've been at the table now for over a year and the government has stood up
00:55and walked out, you know, without pay parity with other states in Australia where we're
01:01left behind and fundamentally many of the doctors within New South Wales are finding
01:05that they just have to move into state to do the jobs that they want to do to
01:09provide the care for the patients they want to be able to provide.
