00:00and we love the masters for storylines that's what it's all about uh i mean look you have scotty
00:04going for three out of four two in a row hasn't won this year he's the favorite on the board and
00:10then you have rory who's playing the best golf ever going into the masters he's won twice this
00:16year at uh pebble and at the players so those are like the two titans right now smiley i'll get into
00:21the rest of the field in a moment but how about these two big guys the two big storylines going
00:26into tomorrow well i think rory is probably the biggest story uh knowing that this is the the one
00:33he's uh hasn't been able to win uh to complete the grand slam he's already won a couple times this
00:40year big events and it just kind of seems like it's his time for the masters this year the mental
00:46side of the game it it just seems like to me watching from the outside and even watching him
00:52inside the ropes early this year uh the game just seems natural to him he's not fighting uh himself
00:59uh he's it's it's really impressive to watch and of course scotty going for three out of four
01:04i mean it's it's pretty dang impressive he he said earlier this week in a press conference that this
01:09is the best forum he's been in uh heading to any tournament this year and when you think about this
01:14golf course and how well he's played it and and how suited it is to his game as far as just how good
01:19he is with his irons and underrated he is with his pitching around the greens and uh and what it
01:26really all comes out comes down to this this week is can can you go out and just hammer out the par
01:32fives if you can go out and play these par fives well um and then be really good td green on the other
01:37holes you know you're gonna have a chance come sunday uh this usually smiley isn't a tournament where
01:44you've got some big long shot bomb that comes in now look we've had them i mean there's no doubt
01:49about it seems like once every 10 or 12 years somebody does come out of nowhere and win it but
01:54for the most part it's the big dogs that are going to eat here smiley and i actually think there's a
01:59bunch of them near the top of this board that are kind of getting slept on a little bit whether that's
02:05john rum maybe who's won here xander who won two majors last year how about these other guys that are
02:10right below scotty and rory well i think colin more cow is the one that that is the first one that
02:17comes to my brain just because of how good of an iron player he's uh he's been in his career he's uh
02:23typically gotten better each year with the putter uh you don't necessarily have to be the best putter
02:28in the field to win this golf tournament but what you really need to have is the ability to control
02:32your golf ball uh avoid three putting and you know colin more cow he's done a really nice job of that
02:39he's had some good events here of course uh but other guys too that are a little down the board i
02:44mean i i lean more bryson de chambeau probably over john rom i just think uh bryson's length is such
02:51an asset and obviously playing well in the major season last year getting off to a nice start last
02:57last week at the live miami um i think he's another player that's going to have a good week but
03:03uh you know distance is i think a really key aspect of this golf course because then landing
03:08angles into the into these greens that are going to be very firm players are going to have shorter
03:12irons and i think that's a tremendous advantage
