00:42hablando de una gran mujer como Bayola Davis. Una diosa. Una ganadora de IGOT, haciendo algo
00:47que pocas veces vemos a mujeres hacer dentro del cine, es decir, cine de género, de acción,
00:53dirigido por una mexicana, Patricia Rigen, pero ver a Bayola con un rango dramático
00:59tan profundo al mismo tiempo que patea todos los traseros posibles. Me encanta. A mí me
01:04encantó. Pues veamos primero tu entrevista con Bayola Davis desde Río. Vamos a ello. Venga.

01:18Por so many years, action movie were lead by men. Yes. But I really love seeing you as not only as the
01:26president of the United States, but also as a woman who is deeply connected with her family. Why is
01:33important this character for you, both in terms of the genre, but also who she is as a person?
01:39Well, I think it's exactly what you said, that it's a genre that's usually been occupied by men.
01:45And then came Sigourney Weaver. And then came Liam Neeson, who is of a certain age. I think that we've
01:55got to subvert the narrative. I think that every generation, you got to do something different that
02:02reflects the culture. You have spoken strongly about visibility and representation. What would you
02:10say to the leaders around the world about why it's so important, especially for black women and girls
02:18around the world? It's important because we're worthy and we're capable. There are so many women and women
02:27of color, people of color who have stood on the sidelines for so long and all they're waiting for is
02:35opportunity. Yeah. And after this movie and all your work that you made in this movie, what kind of
02:43leadership do you believe that the world needs today?
02:47I think the kind of leader the world needs, not just today, that the world needs in general is someone
03:00who has sacrificed their lives for the greater good. I'm just going to say it. I have a board in my
03:08backyard. It's really, it's nice. It's near my pool. And it says,
03:14a soldier doesn't fight because he hates what's in front of him. He fights because he loves what he left
03:20behind. And I think that even though it's a word, I know people feel kumbaya. I think it's important
03:29to lead with love. Absolutely. And talking about your career, when somebody told you no or made you feel
03:37like you weren't enough, how do you find that kind of power to, to believe in yourself and become the
03:45woman that you are today? You know what I learned to do? I learned to do it afraid.
03:51I've learned to work broken at times as long as I started. It's just, it's just like what they say.
04:02It's like, start afraid, start at 40, start at 50, but just start. And that's what I always did.
04:10Even when I was afraid, I still jumped.
04:12And the last one, what was the best part of being a president in the fiction?
04:21The best part of being a president was exactly what I said before is the sort of,
04:28the sort of taking charge, but literally for me, it's, it's the scene in the garage
04:36when I had all those leaders around me and the feeling that, the feeling that I had the power
04:44to change their lives and to keep them alive. I liked that. Even though it was in a movie.
04:51I don't know if I would like it so much in my real life. I probably would be too afraid,
04:56but in the movie, it was great fun to play that.
04:59And let's go to the second part of your journey, of your interview,
05:04which is this Mexican director, that for years has done a brutal job

06:41Estoy muy, muy agradecida con Viola por confiar en mí, por creer en mí, apoyarme y con la vida.
06:50Claro, ayer nos dijo justo en la alfombra que probablemente eres la mujer más talentosa con la que ha trabajado.
06:57¡Ay! ¡Guau! Eso está muy fuerte.
07:02Bueno, ella es definitivamente la actriz más talentosa con la que yo he trabajado.
07:07Pelea como Bruce Willis, pero actúa como Laurence Olivier.
07:11Entonces, tiene como esas dos cosas.
07:13Claro, en términos de representación, lo que hacen me parece sumamente importante para las mujeres,
07:19para el cine, para el género, para todo, ¿no?
07:21Alrededor del mundo creo que necesitamos eso.
07:23Justo, tener la posibilidad y tomar ese poder de líderes ambas,
07:30¿qué responsabilidad también les lleva?
07:33Para mí era importantísimo que fuera una mujer la presidenta,
07:38porque eso normaliza el camino, un camino que ya se logró en México.
07:42Exacto.
07:44Y que se tiene que lograr en todos los países, sobre todo en Estados Unidos.
07:48Claro, lo mencionas ahora, ¿no? En México ya podemos ver esta parte de tener una mujer presidenta.
07:53Y ahora te pregunto, ¿qué tipo de líder también nos necesitamos en el mundo?
07:58Pues cuando vean G20, ese es el tipo de líder que queremos, yo creo que es Viola, porque su personaje conjuga muchas cosas, ¿no?
08:09Es una mujer fuerte, pero es una mujer vulnerable, es una mujer madre que está todavía batallando con esa relación muy humana.
08:21Yo creo que no hay que negar en nuestro ser femenino todas nuestras facetas.
08:28Me encanta. Oye, a lo largo de tu carrera, en esta retrospectiva, ¿cómo te ves a ti misma también, Patricia?
08:35Desde las primeras películas, algo que tienes hoy en las manos.
08:40Ha sido muy difícil, ha sido mucha lucha. Yo solo quisiera encontrar un momento en que pueda trabajar en paz.
08:50Como mujer y como mexicana, como latina, como que tengo que esconderme y hacer mi cosita sin que nadie se dé cuenta,
08:59porque si se dan cuenta, no me creen, no confían. Entonces, no, no, no, que no vaya a ser ese cambio.
09:04Entonces, me relaciono mucho y ojalá, estoy esperando el momento en el que me vean y me confíen, digan, claro que sí, es fregona.
09:13Quiero que la tomen como una película mexicana, porque yo soy la más mexicana de todas.
09:18¿Y qué tiene que ver lo siguiente? Pues, un par de cosas. Una es que comparten fecha de estreno.
09:24Exacto.
09:24G20 y El Amateur. Y la segunda es que estas entrevistas también se hicieron extrañamente en Brasil, hace ya un par de meses.
09:33El año pasado, ¿no?
09:34Sí, el año pasado, ya un par de meses, más de un par de meses. Pero queríamos esperarnos a que esta cinta de Rami Malik,
09:40que es espectacular, pues, estrenara en cines para, pues, traerles la entrevista que tuvimos con él completa.
09:46También acción, espionaje, o sea.
09:48Sí, pero ¿sabes lo que tiene esta de diferente? Es que él no es el clásico espía. Sí trabaja en una agencia de espías, pero pues es, y lo digo así con todo el respeto y la admiración del mundo, es el nerd de la agencia.

10:00Entonces pasa algo que el nerd de la agencia, conociéndose con sus grandes talentos, pues, decide que lo va a resolver con sus talentos de nerd.

10:23Just a little bit of it, and I couldn't help wondering if it's more thrilling for you to do, like, the emotional thriller, the action, because we know you have the biggest range, so.
10:40Oh, that's a huge compliment, but I always look at this process as, you know, I'm not trying to, you know, check in and check out of anything, right?
10:57I really want to devote the time it takes, because it takes quite a bit to invest in something, and I want to put, I want it all, I want to put it all in.
11:06I know you do. I want to put it all in there, and so I'm very careful about the things I choose, and when I invest in something like this particular character, this film, I want to make it special.
11:20From what I understand, I think we could understand why he's doing it, right?
11:23To your point, I guess it's a love story, in a way, right?
11:27There's an extraordinary loss at the beginning of the film, and so when you're doing an action movie, to put that at the moral center, right?
11:38That comes from the heart, so instead of firing a gun and loading it, it's already loaded right here, but I think we all have the ability to shock and awe in our own way,
11:51and, yeah, when it comes from a good place, a place of integrity and justice, I think that's something we can rally behind.
12:01Wow. Have you ever shocked yourself in a good way, when you see yourself on the screen and say, okay, that's me, but no?
12:08No, but I have many people shocked me in real life, people that I identify with just on a daily basis, and normally they're not what we call superheroes.
12:19They're people I see every day, day in and day out, and I look at that and say, well, you know, why can't we put someone like that on the big screen?
12:29Well, good luck, I bet, to be able to talk with people of this caliber, Viola Davis, Patricia Regan, Rami Malek,
