00:00What'd he get?
00:02Some promises.
00:03Okay.
00:04Wait for him.
00:05Were you surprised that some of your members
00:07went along with some promises,
00:08assurances from the speaker?
00:10Nope.
00:11I knew all along they would trade the cow for magic beans.
00:14These beans are like the rest.
00:16They don't sprout.
00:17I mean, they seem convinced that they'll get 1.5 trillion dollars in spending cards.
00:24You don't buy it?
00:25No.
00:26Not that.
00:27I mean, do you think...
00:32I talked to you the other night.
00:34I gave you a...
00:35I was wrong though.
00:36I said 60% chance it would pass last night.
00:39Yeah.
00:40It was lower, right?
00:41Yeah.
00:42I mean, that's why I give probabilities.
00:43I was 40% right.
00:45I mean, I'm wondering, do you think...
00:48Congressman, do you think that, given your concerns about the way this has been,
00:53your party's governing up here, do you think you guys deserve to be in the majority?
00:56I think we do.
00:57I don't think Mike Johnson is doing a good job of capitalizing on that.
01:06And I think Trump should pay more attention to what's happening over here, because doing it all by executive order is perilous.
01:16Number one, the courts will time up for at least a couple of years.
01:19And number two, if he eventually gets it done, the next executive can undo it.
01:25So, yeah, we deserve the majority.
01:28The Democrats deserve to lose their majority, at least as much as we deserve the majority, because they're focused on petty issues like DEI and whatnot, when people care about the economy and other things.
01:41But you think you're not using the majority effectively?
01:43We are not using the majority.
01:45We are not capitalizing on the mandate that we received in November.
01:49I mean, I guess there's some hope that Congress could just get out of the president's way and let him do his thing, that things would turn out okay.
01:58The reality is we need to be working to advance that same agenda that we feel like we have a mandate for in November.
02:08And we're running out of time.
02:10Like, the mandates don't last your entire term.
02:13This one, it's half-life has already been achieved, the mandate, and it's mostly worn out within six months.
02:23The Republican senators will wander off, and then by the time we get a year out, everybody's worried about the midterm election.
02:31What part of the mandate are you guys not capitalizing on?
02:37Putting America first, putting our country on a better financial path, doing something about inflation, and basically, we'll see.
02:50We'll see how it all works out.
02:51I mean, are you worried that your party's not focused on prices enough, given how big the issue was?
02:55What I'm worried about is that the House is not consummating what President Trump is trying to do.
03:00Like, the doge cuts, why aren't we voting on those every week?
03:04We should be doing rescissions or something.
03:08But, I suppose we don't want to take recorded votes on things.
03:13I mean, like on the tariffs, we should be voting on that, we're not voting on that.
03:17So, appreciate the time.
03:20Thanks, man.
03:21Do you think Speaker Johnson is going to be good?
03:22Thanks.
03:24I'll plug in.
03:27We're good.
