Pressure is mounting on the Government after over 100 women came forward to ITV News, believing they were exposed to Diethylstilbestrol, a controversial drug linked to cancer. Prescribed on the NHS for decades to prevent miscarriage, the drug's risks were known but not acted upon. Following recent reports, the chair of the Health Select Committee urged the Government to take further action to support affected families. Report by Covellm. 00:00What's really truly shocking and quite different perhaps to other scandals is
00:03how it's now clear it passes down the generations and moreover when those
00:10families go to seek help or try and get advice about how to mitigate the effects
00:17of this drug they seem to have nowhere to turn. That clearly needs to change and
00:22my call on the government is I'm pleased that West Streeting has seen and it's
00:28also shocked but where is the action it's time now to give these families a
00:32sense of security.
