00:00hey ladies so today i want to talk i'm thinking four or five minutes max on this spoken word
00:12segment and i want to give you an analogy that taught me a lesson yesterday um i know it will
00:19resonate with you but we are living in austin texas and it is so so hot right now it's intense
00:26you guys i mean there are extreme warnings everywhere everyone stay hydrated stay out of
00:32the heat during the day if you're going to exercise go in the mornings go in the evenings
00:35protect your dogs don't leave them in the car don't leave them outside all your animals um you
00:41got to water your plants twice a day right now i mean it is extreme so aswell and i have some
00:47beautiful flowers and plants and he has a green thumb i do not have that green thumb but i can
00:54keep them alive by watering them so when he's traveling which is right now i'm watering so
01:00twice a day i'm watering these beautiful plants and flowers and so far they're doing okay um but
01:07yesterday i was outside on the patio with the doggies and um i look over at this beautiful
01:14plant that is one of our favorites and here's a picture um it looks nice and perky right now but
01:20let me tell you what happened yesterday i look at it and it is looking lifeless it's limp it's i'm
01:26like freaking out like oh my word this plant is dying so i run over to the hose turn on the water and
01:32i begin to water it like crazy i probably over watered it to be honest but within 30 minutes you
01:40guys i am not kidding it stood up it was perky it was full of life again in fact it looked happy
01:47if plants can be happy it was hydrated it was living again and it taught me a lesson i was like
01:55oh my word there is a lesson in this let me read to you the lesson that i learned if we would take
02:02time to water the things that have become dormant and what seems to be lifeless in our own lives we
02:07would see them become perfect and full of life again in fact psalmist solomon in chapter 2 verses 15
02:1517 says catch us the little foxes the little foxes that spoil the vines for our vines had tender
02:23grapes well solomon used that analogy because it made sense to the readers back then that foxes are
02:31destructive to your vineyards basically beware of the little foxes beware of the little things that
02:38slip in that are destructive to your dreams your purpose your passion your god-ordained relationships
02:45you got to use preventive measures you got to protect it at all costs sometimes we push things
02:52to the back burner and we push something else to the front burner and the thing on the back burner
02:57starts suffering what you put time energy and effort in is what is going to flourish i um i read a quote
03:05earlier this morning about watering your own plants watering your own grass and it just hit me because i just
03:12had this lesson yesterday and i thought it's so true sometimes we look at other people's things and
03:17they seem to be just thriving and going places and happy and content and things are just flourishing
03:23something is being done right in their life they are taking time energy and effort into the things that
03:31are important to them so i just encourage you to take time and put more effort into the things
03:38that are important to you um let me read one last scripture here problem score 25 so let your eyes
03:45look directly forward and your gaze be straight before you in other words don't get distracted by
03:50everything going on around you or other people's things stay focused on your dreams on your purpose
03:58on your passion on your marriage on your healthy god-ordained relationships and watch them thrive
04:06all right ladies that's the word water your plants water your flowers water your grass and watch
04:12what is going to come out of that have a great day and as i always say let's get out there let's do this
04:19god bless
