00:00Cooper has not made the decision yet.
00:03He had an interview just a couple of days ago,
00:05maybe even just yesterday with ESPN,
00:07where if I'm trying to read body language
00:10and, you know, word selection,
00:13I think he is going to declare.
00:15Everybody thinks he's going to declare.
00:17I do think Cooper Flagg is heartbroken
00:19that he didn't close it out
00:20with a national championship
00:22because they collapsed against Houston
00:24and everything suggests
00:26they would have cracked Florida
00:27had they played him.
00:30But until Cooper says I'm leaving,
00:32because sometimes guys run to tell you they're leaving.
00:34I think Lonzo declared in the locker room
00:37of the NCAA tournament loss
00:38that they took to Kentucky.
00:41If until Cooper says he's going, coach,
00:44I am waiting for that news to drop
00:48because if he stuns everyone and goes back,
00:51it's one of the biggest stories in basketball.
00:54It is the biggest story.
00:56And you have to think about where off the bat is.
00:58If he comes back, two things I need to know
01:02is what is his NIL he's getting for that year,
01:05which would smash everything that we've ever seen,
01:09and what's the insurance policy in case he gets hurt?
01:13Those are two things that I think need to be talked about
01:16and discussed.
01:16But this is a kid that I think generally loved being in college.
01:21He loved the atmosphere.
01:23He loves the guys.
01:23He loves the team.
01:25So to me, it's kind of like it's easier for him to say,
01:30if they win that championship, did my job,
01:32I'm going to the pro.
01:34But I feel, I generally feel he has unfinished business at Duke.
01:40I do think he's going pro.
01:41But if he came back with the Bulls or Twins,
01:46and Kevin and I talked about this during the NCAA tournament,
01:48then the skunk and nipple turn around and say,
01:52psh, run it back.
01:54Yeah, you're not going to win without me.
01:56Now you're looking at Duke as what?
01:58Two to one?
01:59Probably.
02:00Three to one?
02:01Max, Tom, to win the national championship.
02:03I'm of the belief that he has unfinished business,
02:06and I would be less shocked than most people
02:10if he decides to stay.
02:11That's what it comes down to.
02:12And there's a lot of ramifications
02:14because there are betting odds on which team will get him.
02:16It will impact win totals for next year in the NBA.
02:20It will impact draft position moving forward.
02:23It will impact free agency decisions
02:25because some teams just may not put together
02:27good, strong free agent classes.
02:29Can you imagine a tank next year if he comes back?
02:31I'm saying teams will not go out and sign people this year
02:35knowing that he's actually coming out next year.
02:37He's going to play for the Utah Jazz next year.
02:38We could get a 10-day contract.
02:42That's what it comes to.
02:42So it's not just will he, which, as you alluded to,
02:45they'd be two to one, two and a half to one at best,
02:48but it impacts win totals for next year,
02:50impacts all of those things across the NBA.
02:52Yeah, the rookie of the year race obviously would be,
02:54you know, completely different than what the expectations
02:56of it all would be.
02:59And, yes, it's a hypothetical, but Cooper Flagg is so good
03:03that they've been hanging team-to-draft Cooper Flagg odds
03:05the whole season.
03:07They're like, well, he's just going to go first
03:09and he's going to leave,
03:09and that's what the situation has been.
