00:00:00It's a title for Celtic.
00:00:24It's a title for Celtic.
00:00:24It's a title for Celtic.
00:00:25Unbelievable.
00:00:26Celtic have done it.
00:00:28They always seem to do it.
00:00:30It's official.
00:00:31You can see it before your eyes.
00:00:34Celtic, we know our history.
00:00:35We make history.
00:00:50The Celtics are back in action this afternoon.
00:00:53Kilmarnock make the journey up from Ayrshire,
00:00:55looking for just his second win at Celtic Park in nearly 60 years.
00:01:01Brendan Rodgers and his squad have arrived at Celtic Park,
00:01:04fully focused on the challenge ahead,
00:01:07as they look to bounce back from disappointment in Perth,
00:01:10and close in on the club's 55th league title.
00:01:14It's Celtic versus Kilmarnock, live on Celtic TV,
00:01:17with full audio commentary available for listeners in the UK.
00:01:20And Ireland kick-off is under 15 minutes away at 12.30pm, Celtic Park time.
00:01:26Paradise is ready.
00:01:28I'm Dylan Doherty guiding you through all the action today at Celtic Park.
00:01:33And I'm delighted to be joined by a man that's graced the Celtic Park pitch
00:01:37almost 200 times in his career, Simon Donnelly.
00:01:41Welcome along to the Celtic Park commentary position.
00:01:45Simon, how does Celtic bounce back today after the disappointment last weekend in Perth?
00:01:50Well, they have to.
00:01:51That's the nature of it here at Celtic.
00:01:53They have to bounce back.
00:01:54It was a frustrating afternoon all round up in Perth.
00:01:57I think the manager made his feelings clear.
00:02:00The players would be chomping at the bit to get back out as quick as possible.
00:02:05They've had to wait the full week.
00:02:07But you have to bounce back.
00:02:08The league's still there to be won.
00:02:09I know we're in a strong position, but we have to get back to winning ways.
00:02:13There's a semi-final next week.
00:02:14And I think the team need to find a wee bit of rhythm again.
00:02:17Well, Brendan Rodgers, he has named his starting 11.
00:02:21He's made four changes from the team that lost in Perth last weekend.
00:02:25Let's go through those selections by the manager.
00:02:28And goal, it's Valjami Sinasalo.
00:02:31It's the back four of Alistair Johnston, Liam Scales, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Greg Taylor.
00:02:37Scales and Taylor coming back in to the starting 11.
00:02:40The team is captained by Callum McGregor in midfield.
00:02:44He's joined by Anna Engels and Rio Hattate.
00:02:47Up front, across the front three, there's changes.
00:02:50Across the line, it's James Forrest, Dyson Maeda and Adam Mead on the bench for Celtic.
00:02:56Scott Bain, Austin Trusty, Jota, Nicholas Coon, Luke McCown, Jeffrey Schlupp, Mike Navrotsky, Paul Bernardo and Anthony Ralston.
00:03:05Simon, four changes.
00:03:06Scales comes back in.
00:03:07Taylor comes back in as well.
00:03:10Forrest as well with Adam Mead on.
00:03:12What stands out to you?
00:03:14Well, just the four changes.
00:03:15I think touched on the frustrations of the manager with the performance last week.
00:03:19He said he was going to freshen up.
00:03:20He has done with the four guys coming in.
00:03:22It's an opportunity.
00:03:24James Forrest around about this time last season injected life into the team when we were going for the title.
00:03:29I think it was the semi-final against Aberdeen and it really brought something and everybody fed off that.
00:03:34So maybe that was the thought process behind his inclusion.
00:03:37But, yeah, the four boys have come in and, yeah, you're just looking for a freshen up.
00:03:41And, as I say, find that little bit of rhythm again.
00:03:44The Celtic will be used to more often than not in a season.
00:03:47Well, come on, let's come to Celtic Park.
00:03:49They've made two changes.
00:03:50We'll just quickly run through their team.
00:03:52It's Kieran O'Hara, Corey Ndaba, Joe Wright, Lewis Mayle, Captain Brad Lyons, Danny Armstrong, David Watson, Fraser Murray, Stuart Findlay and Bobby Wales.
00:04:04We expect Simon Kilmarnock to go probably slightly defensive in the vein of Derek McInnes.
00:04:10We think it will probably, it's shaping up to be a 4-4-2, but we reckon it will probably be a 4-5-1.
00:04:17But there's a few standouts for them.
00:04:19Bobby Wales, Fraser Murray, they've impressed in recent weeks.
00:04:22They've got a mixed bag of results as well.
00:04:25What can they do here with the top six away from them as well?
00:04:29I think they'll try to frustrate.
00:04:30I think they'll try and frustrate on the back of the performance last week.
00:04:35They probably will flood that midfield, but they've got players going forward there.
00:04:38I like Armstrong as well.
00:04:39He's always a threat if they can get him on the ball.
00:04:42I think they'll look to stay in the game as long as possible.
00:04:44Try and frustrate Celtic and capitalise in any 4-4 that they can manage.
00:04:49Well, Brendan Rodgers, he's picked his starting 11.
00:04:51He caught off earlier with John Lendwith discussing his starting selections.
00:04:57Brendan, you made it clear what you thought was missing from last week's performance.
00:05:00And I suppose the time for talking is now over.
00:05:02What will the response, or should it look like, on the pitch today for you?
00:05:05I think we're at that stage of the season where if we want to win trophies and win games,
00:05:12then you need that winning attitude.
00:05:14So, yes, we really need to see a desire from the first whistle in order to be aggressive,
00:05:21to be physical, and then obviously let our quality come through.
00:05:24You've made four changes to the starting 11.
00:05:26James Forrest, is his experience in getting things over the line played a part in that decision today?
00:05:33Yes, he's just sheer quality.
00:05:34You give the ball to him, he can take players on, he can secure the ball for you.
00:05:40And, of course, when you're playing against a man-to-man system,
00:05:44sometimes you're not just out on the side, you have to be able to roll on the inside,
00:05:47and he's very good at that.
00:05:48And in the backline, Liam Scales and Greg Taylor return again with plenty of experience here at the club of winning trophies.
00:05:54Yes, we're getting to the stage of the season where it's about getting over the line.
00:05:58And those players, I think apart from probably one player,
00:06:01it's the same team that would have started against Kilmarnock last season when we won 5-0.
00:06:05So, yes, those guys have experience.
00:06:10Greg Taylor gives us the flexibility on the inside, he's outstanding at that.
00:06:14And against a man-to-man system, that's important.
00:06:17You'll come up against the same determination that you did in St Johnston.
00:06:20Kilmarnock have everything to play for to avoid that relegation area.
00:06:25Do you anticipate the same level of commitment from them as you saw from St Johnston last week?
00:06:31Yes, because I think it's the time of the season where every team has something to play for.
00:06:35You get 12 teams in the league, top six, bottom six, then there's everything to fight for.
00:06:40So, it doesn't really matter where you're setting the table now.
00:06:43This is the business end of the season and every team will be pushing to finish where it is they want to.
00:06:49But that desire has to be even increased, not decreased by ourselves.
00:06:52So, we hope that we can bring that mentality, desire and energy to the game.
00:06:57Best of luck today.
00:06:57Cheers, thank you.
00:06:58Thank you very much to Brendan Rodgers and John Ledwith in the tunnel.
00:07:04Remember, if you're listening in the UK and Ireland, you can still buy your Virtual Paradise Windfall ticket,

00:07:22Remember to please visit bgambleaware.org.
00:07:25Let's now hear from Cameron Carter-Vickers.
00:07:28He spoke with the media yesterday at Lennox Town.
00:07:32Yeah, I mean, if you look at it purely through results, then yeah, you can say that.
00:07:38Again, as I touched on it, I don't think the performance last week was terrible.
00:07:42I don't think it was all that bad.
00:07:43We created enough chances, like I'm saying, to win the game.
00:07:45So, for us, it's about going out there tomorrow and, you know,
00:07:48performing the way you want to perform and winning the game.
00:07:51Is it a strange one this weekend?
00:07:52Because you obviously can't win a title at home now,
00:07:55but it's about getting the job done tomorrow and then seeing what happens on Sunday.
00:07:59Yeah, I mean, I've been in that kind of scenario since I've been here,
00:08:02but yeah, obviously we need to focus on our game tomorrow
00:08:06and then what happens after that happens.
00:08:08You've got your clinched the league last season at Kamalak,
00:08:12one of the best performances of the season as well.
00:08:15Is it something you spoke about this week that you really want to push through
00:08:20the finishing line on a high in style?
00:08:22Is that something you're keen to emulate from that season?
00:08:25Yeah, no, of course.
00:08:26You want to play, continue to play well and continue to win matches right up until the end of the season.
00:08:32You want to win every match you're a part of.
00:08:34That's definitely our aim to kind of finish as strong as we can
00:08:36and that starts with tomorrow.
00:08:37How have you reflected on your season personally?
00:08:42Yeah, no, I think it's been good.
00:08:43I think at the beginning of the season, obviously the aim was to win everything domestically
00:08:49and we've got one cup in the bag and we're still in a position where we can win two more.
00:08:54And then Champions League-wise, we wanted to do well and kind of show that we could compete at that level
00:08:59and I think we've done that in that competition.
00:09:01So yeah, overall I think it's good.
00:09:02Cameron Carter-Vickers there speaking with the media.
00:09:08Apologies, the correction to the Paradise Windfall.
00:09:10It's £10,000, not £3,000.
00:09:13So an even bigger incentive to get your Paradise Windfall virtual ticket now.
00:09:18So Celtic Park, it's just filling up very nicely.
00:09:22The weather has been superb in Scotland over the last few weeks.
00:09:27So it's a perfect pitch, perfect scenario here for Celtic to bounce back Simon Kilmarnock as well.
00:09:34Tough opponents usually are.
00:09:36It was a 2-1 win in the Scottish Cup in January.
00:09:39I'm sure you and I done the commentary that evening.
00:09:42But they showed to be really resolute.
00:09:44What's the game plan for Derek McInnes?
00:09:46We spoke about the top six is gone, but they will be looking round at their shoulder at that relegation playoff position.
00:09:52Only one point above Ross County in Dundee.
00:09:54Yeah, that's an incentive today.
00:09:56They've been on the back of some poor results that were frustrated Derek in the lead up to this.
00:10:01They obviously beat Muddlewell last week, but it's too little, too late in terms of the top six.
00:10:06You're quite right, they're looking over their shoulder.
00:10:08So they'll come here and try and frustrate and take anything they can.
00:10:13Moving forward, if they can get up the pitch, they've got one or two players that can hurt the back line there.
00:10:19But I'm just looking at the fantastic pictures here, the park getting soaked, which is a big thing.
00:10:23Because I think without making too many excuses for the team last week, the pitch wasn't conducive to free-flowing football up at Perth.
00:10:30So that added to the, obviously the boys been off the market a little bit slightly, but you know that pitch out there is perfect today.
00:10:38And hopefully the boys can get the balls up to about with a bit of pace.
00:10:42And Brendan spoke about James Forrest there as well, being possibly an important member of the 11 this afternoon.
00:10:48Maybe he'll get off the mark with his goal scoring for another season.
00:10:51Well, if he does, Simon, it would be the 16th consecutive season that James Forrest has scored all the way goes back to May 2010.
00:11:02He made his debut against Motherwell and he's scored in every single season since.
00:11:07Apart from this season, the games are probably running out now, but he's still got the opportunity and a start today certainly helps.
00:11:14He's got six goals in his Celtic career against Kilmarnock.
00:11:17He'll be hoping for another.
00:11:19He got a goal against Kilmarnock when he clinched the title last season at Rugby Park.
00:11:24Celtic have been in good form against Kilmarnock when four out of the last six games against the team from Ayrshire.
00:11:31So I'm just thinking he had the chance last week.
00:11:33It was a massive opportunity.
00:11:35I think he'll get opportunities this afternoon to be there, but it's a fantastic record that he's got there.
00:11:40The stats to score every season for that length of time has been an absolute perfect match.
00:11:49Contribution for the club and to get over that line today would be fantastic.
00:11:53And of course, Simon, if Celtic, you know, we'd expect in the next few weeks or so could happen tomorrow.
00:12:00Who knows?
00:12:01If Celtic clinch the title, James Forrest will move ahead of Bobby Lennox and become the most decorated Celt in the club's history,
00:12:10which is a remarkable achievement.
00:12:11He will move to 26 major honours, which is remarkable.
00:12:17And there's another man.
00:12:18He is very much behind James Forrest in the race to become the most decorated Celt, Calum McGregor.
00:12:26He will move up to 24 major honours, so an absolute success story for the academy.
00:12:34Calum McGregor and James Forrest, they are the inspiration of any young Celtic player.
00:12:40But it's all about the here and now, and Greg Taylor in the tunnel holding his new baby daughter.
00:12:50Only six weeks old, beautiful scene as Greg walks out with his daughter, draped in the green and white hoops already.
00:12:59Remarkable stuff as Celtic come out the tunnel.
00:13:03Dies made of a new haircut.
00:13:05Let's hope he has the same power.
00:13:06But, Calum McGregor leads the team out, but that's a lovely touch, Greg, bringing his daughter out, isn't it, Simon?
00:13:13It is.
00:13:13It is.
00:13:14It is.
00:13:15Unexpected to just see him there in the tunnel.
00:13:18It's something that he can show her many years from now, and she's old enough to appreciate it.
00:13:24She's actually going for a little sleep, you know.
00:13:26Straight in that.
00:13:28It's the most careless person in the stadium at the moment.
00:13:31That's fantastic.
00:13:32Anyway, back to the football.
00:13:33Let's go through the starting 11 once again for Celtic.
00:13:37That's Viljami Sinasalo.
00:13:38Alistair Johnston.
00:13:40Greg Taylor.
00:13:41Liam Scales.
00:13:42Cameron Carter-Vickers at the back line.
00:13:46Calum McGregor.
00:13:48Captain in the team.
00:13:49Arna Engels.
00:13:50Rio Hattati.
00:13:51Dias Ameida.
00:13:52James Forrest.
00:13:53And Adam Ida up front for.
00:13:55Come on, look.
00:13:56It's Kieran O'Hara.
00:13:56Corey N'Dabba.
00:13:57Joe Wright.
00:13:58Lewis Mayle.
00:13:58Brad Lyons.
00:13:59Danny Armstrong.
00:14:00David Watson.
00:14:01Fraser Murray.
00:14:02Stuart Findlay.
00:14:02Former Celtic youth player.
00:14:04Liam Donnelly.
00:14:05And Bobby Wales.
00:14:10It's a fantastic looking paradise.
00:14:12Early kick off here in Glasgow.
00:14:15Half twelve.
00:14:16Local time.
00:14:17So I appreciate all the Celtic supporters.
00:14:20Especially out there in North America.
00:14:22With the time zones.
00:14:23Early morning for you guys over there.
00:14:25I'm sure that won't dampen the spirits.
00:14:30The Celtic look to get one step closer to getting the hands on the title once again for the fourth consecutive time as well.
00:14:40Which would be absolutely terrific stuff.
00:14:45And to close out the season, Simon, in great form.
00:14:49And there's a man that has been in great form.
00:14:52He had a blank last week but seven goals in his last seven games.
00:14:55After he promised us in the post-match a hat-trick.
00:14:58Maybe he gets it today.
00:15:00The alarm won off day all season.
00:15:03He's been fantastic.
00:15:04He really has.
00:15:05Sporting a new haircut.
00:15:07And I'm sure if there's any goals to be scored this afternoon he won't be too far away.
00:15:12Now he's back in his usual position on the wing as Adam Eder goes through the middle.
00:15:16Callum McGregor just relaying the message to the Celtics players as Derek McInnes and Brendan Rodgers shake hands.
00:15:24Old foes.
00:15:26They met in that invincible Scottish Cup final eight years ago in May.
00:15:32Hard to believe when Kilmarnock get the game underway at Celtic Park.
00:15:37Liam Scales gets his first touch.
00:15:41It's his first start since the 1st of March.
00:15:44That 5-2 victory against St Mirren.
00:15:47He comes back in.
00:15:49Got a goal against Kilmarnock on the opening day of the season.
00:15:53The Celtic won 4-0 on flag day.
00:16:00And he is a player that is very well liked by Brendan Rodgers.
00:16:05Liam Scales.
00:16:07It's a lovely pass from Hitate to Eder holding up the ball.
00:16:13Johnson's touch just gets away from him.
00:16:15And a chance now for Fraser Murray to press forward for Kilmarnock.
00:16:22There's a ball back to Corey Ndaba.
00:16:25Really touch here for Kilmarnock.
00:16:29He's headed away by Johnson.
00:16:30Good chance to switch the play now.
00:16:32It's a lovely pass from Hitate and it's well read by Kilmarnock defence.
00:16:36Carter Vickers goes back to Sinasawa.
00:16:44Yeah, he was unlucky there.
00:16:45Hitate just on the turnover.
00:16:46Quick turnover to head.
00:16:47Mayeda and Eder.
00:16:48I tried to thread it centrally to Eder.
00:16:50And it just got cut out.
00:16:51Carter Vickers.
00:16:58Liam Scales.
00:17:01Average possession for the Celtic team.
00:17:04I know Derek McKinnis was talking about it's 74% so he will have a lot of the ball this afternoon Celtic.
00:17:10There's McGregor.
00:17:18Johnson over the halfway line now for James Forrest.
00:17:22Goes down under the challenge of Corey Ndaba, the Irishman.
00:17:26He'll get the game underway pretty quickly.
00:17:34Taylor, that's a lovely ball through.
00:17:36Mayeda was looking to go on the end of it.
00:17:37Puts the thumbs up.
00:17:38That was a lovely ball from Greg Taylor.
00:17:40Yeah, there's a bit of understanding there.
00:17:42Greg Taylor's played there numerous times.
00:17:44Picks it up in this central area.
00:17:46And how often do we see that familiar run from outside to in?
00:17:50It's just a little bit heavy.
00:17:52Lewis Mayell, he has dealt with Dyson Mayeda well at times, Simon.
00:17:56I know you're a bit of a fan of how he has handled them.
00:18:00Yeah, certain times, yeah.
00:18:01I mean, he's so difficult to play against, I can imagine, Dyson.
00:18:05But Mayell's did okay at times.
00:18:06But it was a fantastic run there.
00:18:08And it was a right pass.
00:18:09But Greg Taylor just a little bit too much weight on it.
00:18:11That's a lovely ball from Taylor again.
00:18:12But Kieran O'Hara, the former Manchester United youth product.
00:18:15He's out to clear his lines.
00:18:18I don't know if I can't get there.
00:18:22Skills.
00:18:26Sinasawa, his fifth appearance.
00:18:30Kasper Schmeichel slowly recovering from his injury.
00:18:37He does.
00:18:39He goes back to Cameron Kartovickers.
00:18:45Lovely movement off the ball from Celtic already.
00:18:51Can Johnston keep this one in play?
00:18:53He does.
00:18:54Celtic win the throw in.
00:18:56As Fraser Murray works his way back.
00:18:58First start for James Forrest since the 30th of November.
00:19:07Long timeout injured.
00:19:09He'll be hoping to get in amongst the goals.
00:19:13And to continue the streak.
00:19:15Celtic.
00:19:19Celtic's 50th game of the season as well.
00:19:23In a remarkably tight scheduled season.
00:19:26McGregor scored against Kilmarnock.
00:19:37Can't rugby park.
00:19:38And here in the Scottish Cup in January.
00:19:41My either.
00:19:45It's a fine either.
00:19:46Just gets shouldered out.
00:19:48Bobby Wales.
00:19:49Young Ayrshire boy.
00:19:51Who's attracting interest from English clubs.
00:20:00McGregor.
00:20:01Tons away from David Watson.
00:20:03Another new product from the Kilmarnock Academy.
00:20:06Scales.
00:20:14He makes a run.
00:20:16It's well defended in the end.
00:20:18And Celtic Simon have their first corner kick.
00:20:20Yes.
00:20:20A decent run from Eda.
00:20:21Scales sees it.
00:20:22Just tries to slide it into him.
00:20:24And allows it to run down the side of him.
00:20:26It's out for the first corner.
00:20:30Celtic go short with Greg Taylor.
00:20:32Engels.
00:20:34Back to Taylor.
00:20:34He's got a little room here.
00:20:36He goes back to his captain.
00:20:40All my angles.
00:20:43Neil Forrest gets it onto the right foot.
00:20:45It's James Forrest.
00:20:46And Daba clears.
00:20:49Headed back in.
00:20:51This time away by Joe Wright.
00:20:57Strong header.
00:20:59He does in there.
00:21:00Making a nuisance of himself.
00:21:01But Kieran O'Hara does collect this time.
00:21:04Yeah it's positive play for James Forrest.
00:21:05Just picks it up from that corner on the left hand side.
00:21:09Which allows him to come in on his right foot.
00:21:11The shot blocked.
00:21:12A lot of bodies between him and the goal.
00:21:14Five minutes gone.
00:21:21Five minutes gone.
00:21:23Yet to see the first shot on target.
00:21:29Stuart Finlay clears up.
00:21:31And he's second Spellick commandant now.
00:21:33He's got a famous winner against Celtic back in 2018.
00:21:44It's well tidied up by Cameron Carter-Vickers as is that by Alistair Johnston.
00:21:49And Celtic can get the ball move in scales.
00:21:53And his pass just goes out of play.
00:21:55Looking for Greg Taylor in that passage of play there.
00:21:59Yeah just misplaces it.
00:22:00He's trying to force it ahead of Greg Taylor there.
00:22:05Trying to get the quick break.
00:22:06It was a 2-0 win for Kilmarnock last weekend against Motherwell.
00:22:12A much needed lift and confidence after a pretty hammering at St. Mirren.
00:22:19The week before 5-1 they were beaten in Paisley.
00:22:263 wins in the last 10 games for Kilmarnock.
00:22:28There's just a bit of pressure from the Kilmarnock supporters on Derek McInnes.
00:22:33I think some would potentially like to see a change in the summer.
00:22:38Especially if they get dragged into a relegation fight.
00:22:44Maybe a victim of his own success a little bit.
00:22:49Here's Forrest.
00:22:53McGregor.
00:22:57Taylor goes down onto the challenge.
00:22:58But referee John Beaton.
00:23:02Plays on.
00:23:05Good ball from Taylor.
00:23:06He saw a little bit of the ball so far.
00:23:08Here's Forrest.
00:23:09Cuts in on the left.
00:23:11French McGregor.
00:23:14Do my aid up.
00:23:15I'm not packing this box.
00:23:18Taylor.
00:23:19Pass breaks down.
00:23:21Watson clears away.
00:23:24Sinasawa.
00:23:25Click off his line.
00:23:26Good touch by the finished goalkeeper.
00:23:28Just calms it down.
00:23:30Brings it out to Liam Scales.
00:23:33Yeah, showed good composure there.
00:23:35Some keepers would have had a wild slash at that.
00:23:38But you see the situation.
00:23:39You had a little bit of time.
00:23:40And here is the Irishman.
00:23:43And here is the Irishman.
00:23:43Liam Scales.
00:23:45Good play from Celtic.
00:23:47Hitate.
00:23:48Goes for the goal.
00:23:49Oh, what a goal.
00:23:51Real Hitate.
00:23:53Just as he did on flag day.
00:23:55He opens the scoring.
00:23:57And that is a superb goal from the Japanese.
00:24:02What a goal.
00:24:04What a start.
00:24:05It's Celtic 1.
00:24:06Kilmarnock 0.
00:24:07Yeah, it's a marvellous strike.
00:24:09And that's what he can do round about the edge of the box.
00:24:11I've seen it so many times in his Celtic career.
00:24:14Little cushion pass.
00:24:17I think it's Greg Taylor that he uses as a wall.
00:24:20Gets it back.
00:24:21And thumps it into the top corner.
00:24:23Fantastic goal.
00:24:26An absolute superb strike from Rio Hitate.
00:24:30What a goal by Rio.
00:24:33That's nine for the season.
00:24:35And you'll be hard pushed for one better.
00:24:37Superb.
00:24:40Yeah, top notch.
00:24:41And exactly what the team need.
00:24:43Not even ten minutes on the clock.
00:24:45After last week.
00:24:47Get the first goal.
00:24:48Break the deadlock.
00:24:50They can relax into the game now.
00:24:54Eight in the league for Hitate.
00:24:56Celtic playing with a bit of zip.
00:24:57Here's Hitate again.
00:24:59Looking for his fellow countrymen.
00:25:01He's made of a Kilmarnock now.
00:25:03They'll just go into survival mode if they can.
00:25:05They don't want Celtic to hit them with another goal.
00:25:09That would be disastrous for the team from Ayrshire.
00:25:13It was a nice play there.
00:25:13Nice little cushion pass for Hida.
00:25:15Into Hitate.
00:25:16Just couldn't get out of his feet.
00:25:17To get the pass away to Maeda quick enough.
00:25:23A fantastic goal from Rio Hitate.
00:25:26He can provide such fantastic moments.
00:25:29He's been superb so far.
00:25:31This is great football from Celtic.
00:25:32Here's Engels.
00:25:35Lovely ball.
00:25:36Johnston now.
00:25:37It's a cross goal.
00:25:38And here's Maeda.
00:25:39That's an easy goal.
00:25:4231 for the season.
00:25:46Great football.
00:25:48And just like that, Celtic are two goals ahead.
00:25:51And it's the two boys from Japan.
00:25:54It's Maeda.
00:25:55This time again.
00:25:57And Celtic are in a great position now, Simon.
00:26:01I think everybody in the stadium was screaming for Engels to shoot.
00:26:05But he holds on to it.
00:26:06And he plays it in between the defence.
00:26:09For Alistair Johnston.
00:26:10He fires it across.
00:26:12And it just deflects beautifully for Maeda at the back post.
00:26:16I don't think he'd score an easier goal for Celtic.
00:26:19But they all count.
00:26:22New hairdo.
00:26:23Same old act.
00:26:24And amongst the goals.
00:26:25Dyson Maeda.
00:26:2631 for the season.
00:26:29And counting.
00:26:30They're the ones you love.
00:26:31Just felt him.
00:26:32Half a yard from goal.
00:26:34All he has to do is caress it into the back of the net.
00:26:37It was a nice build-up play, as I say.
00:26:38I thought Engels could have taken the strike on.
00:26:40But he was patient.
00:26:41Waited for Alistair Johnston on the outside.
00:26:452-0.
00:26:47Fantastic start.
00:26:48He's got three goals in his last four games against Comarnock Maeda.
00:26:54I think he meant hat-trick in his next game.
00:26:57Home game.
00:26:58Next home game, Simon.
00:26:59He maybe meant.
00:27:02That's a good start from Celtic.
00:27:04Two goals up already.
00:27:0611 minutes played.
00:27:07Great reaction.
00:27:09The manager had very strong words to say about the performance last week.
00:27:12And this is exactly what you want to see.
00:27:15The Celtic look to get a step closer to clinching the championship.
00:27:21Of course, a big game next Sunday.
00:27:22Easter Sunday at Hampden Park as well.
00:27:27Forest.
00:27:29Eda, great movement again.
00:27:30This is superb football from Celtic.
00:27:32And Maeda, superb pressing.
00:27:36Wins the ball back.
00:27:39Johnston.
00:27:40They look really sharp here.
00:27:41Neil's Engels gets a ball into the box.
00:27:43It's dangerous.
00:27:44Maeda's in there again.
00:27:45This is superb from Celtic.
00:27:46This is superb from Celtic.
00:27:49It's survival mode for Comarnock.
00:27:51Yeah, it's a fantastic ball just whipped across that six-yard box, begging for somebody to get a touch on it.
00:28:00For the first 12 minutes, it's been really sharp from Celtic reaction to that man's messages, no doubt.
00:28:09Well, when that man delivers a message, it is important you listen.
00:28:12It seems like the players have done that good football again.
00:28:17Here's Celtic.
00:28:18Atate, only they got a goal to his name.
00:28:21Johnston wins it back.
00:28:23You just feel the scoring isn't going to stop here.
00:28:25Here's James Forrest.
00:28:27Goes for the chip.
00:28:29And that one's not going to trouble.
00:28:31Might be Masters weekend, but that chip wasn't going in.
00:28:34No.
00:28:35Wrong club.
00:28:37It just gets on to his lefty.
00:28:38I think he's going to hit up his left because he's decent on his left-hand side.
00:28:41Chooses to come back on to his favoured right.
00:28:44And then just tried the little dink.
00:28:47And that man has got some work to do.
00:28:51Derek McInnes hasn't won on this ground since 2018 with Aberdeen.
00:28:56Andrew Considine scoring the goal that day.
00:29:00It was a day Celtic lifted the league trophy.
00:29:06It's well cut out again by Carl McGregor.
00:29:09Brilliant from the captain.
00:29:10Looking for the run of Maeda.
00:29:12Celtic counts it to get the ball back.
00:29:15Here's Taylor in space.
00:29:18Greg Taylor.
00:29:20Clips the ball in.
00:29:21Looks for Forrest at the back post.
00:29:23It's well defended away by Fraser Murray.
00:29:27Yeah, it's relentless at the moment.
00:29:28That's first 15 minutes.
00:29:32Engels looks for the flip round the corner.
00:29:37Johnston.
00:29:40McGregor.
00:29:41Scales.
00:29:42Got a goal against Kilmarnock.
00:29:43And he's close again.
00:29:45What a save from O'Hara.
00:29:46Parries it out.
00:29:49He's only got a goal on the opening day.
00:29:51And he was so close again.
00:29:52Yeah, it opened up nicely for him.
00:29:54You could hear the crowd encouraging him just to go and take a shot.
00:29:57Johnston.
00:29:58Johnston.
00:29:58Johnston.
00:30:04It's all Celtic at the minute.
00:30:08Yeah, there's a real zip to the plate.
00:30:14Spring in the step.
00:30:16They look lively.
00:30:17Point to prove.
00:30:19Took 70 minutes last week to get a shot on target.
00:30:2414 minutes in.
00:30:25And it's Celtic 2.
00:30:26Come on, McNeil this week.
00:30:28A definite difference.
00:30:30Here's Scales again.
00:30:34McGregor.
00:30:35To Forrest.
00:30:36Just field as a goal.
00:30:38Coming again.
00:30:38Ball comes across.
00:30:40And Daba has to defend.
00:30:41But only goes as far as Johnston again.
00:30:45Armstrong.
00:30:46Back defending.
00:30:48From.
00:30:49Correct.
00:30:49And that will go for a throw in.
00:30:51But William Scales.
00:30:52We've just seen this one again.
00:30:53Simon.
00:30:54Yes, I say it just opened up.
00:30:57Why not have the shot?
00:30:58It's a decent save.
00:30:59It's a decent save.
00:31:08Scales.
00:31:12Carter Vickers now just.
00:31:15A little bit of pressure.
00:31:16He's shown himself to be a great option in that sleeper-keeper role.
00:31:24Sleeves are rolled up by Rio Hattate.
00:31:27For Kompany.
00:31:38Johnston.
00:31:41Dias William Scales.
00:31:47Dyson Maeda.
00:31:48He's got Lewis Mayo.
00:31:50And Armstrong for Kompany.
00:31:56Engels.
00:31:57Tate looks out.
00:32:06Tate looks out.
00:32:07Just to fuck it round.
00:32:08Either won't put the pressure on.
00:32:10But Joe Wright just clears it out.
00:32:13For another Celtic throw.
00:32:14Celtic get the game underway.
00:32:17Quick again.
00:32:17It's the clutch part of the season.
00:32:25Celtic will want to dial in for these final games of the season.
00:32:29We're showing that already.
00:32:41Carter Vickers.
00:32:42Maeda.
00:32:50Craig Taylor.
00:32:52He's Captain Cal McGregor.
00:32:59Carter Vickers.
00:33:00He's just pinned on his man there.
00:33:03Danny Armstrong's under pressure.
00:33:06Soft foul.
00:33:07McJohan beaten.
00:33:08Gives it.
00:33:08And Kilmarnock have the free kick.
00:33:10And that will alleviate the pressure.
00:33:13Yeah.
00:33:13Just for a couple of seconds.
00:33:15It was played into Ida there.
00:33:17He's looking to be strong there.
00:33:18I think it was Hattati trying to get up to support him.
00:33:21He's got away from him.
00:33:25He was just laying it off there.
00:33:27Trying to get it into Hattati.
00:33:28Not enough on it.
00:33:29He just held it in.
00:33:3214 goals this season for Adomida.
00:33:40We're looking to add to that this afternoon.
00:33:42Scales wins the header.
00:33:48Ball clipped into the box.
00:33:49Bobby Wales putting the pressure on.
00:33:51But Celtic have the goal kick.
00:33:55And I imagine they'll go quick here.
00:34:02Just a 26 goals.
00:34:05Celtic have put past.
00:34:07Kilmarnock in recent pictures.
00:34:19They are tight to the relegation playoff.
00:34:33A hammer in that Celtic Park won't go well in their favour.
00:34:35But the goal difference comes into it.
00:34:40So I imagine they will be very defensive.
00:34:44Even more so now Simon.
00:34:45Yeah.
00:34:46They've kind of decomposed themselves a little bit back into their shape.
00:34:50They've not weathered the storm quite evidently with the 2-0 lead.
00:34:55But making it difficult again.
00:34:57As I said, it won't come out too much.
00:34:59Forrest cuts inside.
00:35:04Finds the captain.
00:35:05Looks for the pass to Maeda.
00:35:07Maeda is going to chase it down.
00:35:09No balls.
00:35:10A lost cause with him.
00:35:11Celtic have the throw in.
00:35:12It's a good point of view.
00:35:19It's imperative we keep the pace up or the pass and keep that passing quickly.
00:35:24Moving the ball quickly.
00:35:26One and two touch.
00:35:28Keep putting that pressure on Kilmarnock.
00:35:30Look for that third goal.
00:35:31Carter Vickers.
00:35:33Two scales.
00:35:35Two central defenders.
00:35:36Lots of the ball.
00:35:41It's Cameron Carter Vickers.
00:35:42Oh, what a goal.
00:35:45That is outstanding from the American.
00:35:50Hands on the head from Alistair Johnston.
00:35:53What a hit.
00:35:54What a goal.
00:35:55It's Celtic three.
00:35:57Kilmarnock now.
00:35:58Simon.
00:35:59Wow.
00:35:59Describe that.
00:36:00Wow.
00:36:02Attackers was excellent.
00:36:04That is out of this world.
00:36:06He's just stepped in.
00:36:07Similar to Scales a few minutes ago.
00:36:09Centered back.
00:36:10Space there.
00:36:11I'm going to step in.
00:36:12Have a crack.
00:36:13Keeper, no chance.
00:36:16The collective hands on the head from the Celtic players.
00:36:19They can't believe it.
00:36:20That might be goal of the season.
00:36:22That's incredible from Cameron Carter Vickers.
00:36:24He's bending away from the keeper.
00:36:27Hands on the head of I think it's Ida as well there just as it hits the back of the net.
00:36:34I don't think his teammates can believe it either.
00:36:35Wow.
00:36:36What a goal.
00:36:3720 minutes gone.
00:36:39And he gets his first goal since the semi-final against Aberdeen Cameron Carter Vickers.
00:36:46I think last week with the frustration, lack of shots, maybe that's been a message, go and have a crack.
00:36:53That's what happens.
00:36:54You know, two fantastic strikes from outside the box already.
00:36:58And has he done now?
00:36:59Can he get in on the act?
00:37:00Oh, Hara collects.
00:37:02If you're James Forrest, we don't mind putting pressure on him here, but to continue the streak of scoring in every season, you've got fancy chances getting on the score sheet, Simon.
00:37:12And as a striker, you'd be on that pitch thinking, ah, what are you getting on this?
00:37:15I think they must all be thinking that after this start.
00:37:1720 minutes on the clock is 3-0.
00:37:19Started really brightly.
00:37:21They'll all be hungry for goals.
00:37:27Well, John Beaton just obstructed for either there and Kilmarnock come away with the ball.
00:37:32Danny Armstrong clips the ball.
00:37:35And this is a shell shock of a start for Kilmarnock who bowled on being defensively.
00:37:42Resolute.
00:37:43He just shows the troubles that they might be having down at Robbie Park.
00:37:46That's how to beat the low block.
00:37:49Step in, cut the yard space, step in and have a shot on goal.
00:37:52Just have a few goal of the season campaigns within the team, Simon.
00:37:57Yeah, definitely those two must be up there.
00:38:03Wow, what a couple of goals from Hitate and Cameron Carter-Vickers.
00:38:08Hitate with the tap in at the back post, this was of relative ease.
00:38:14Yeah, his is not up for goal of the season.
00:38:16He scored far better ones.
00:38:18Well, here is Cameron Carter-Vickers.
00:38:20Hitate, he's playing that.
00:38:21That role well holding the ball up.
00:38:23Shown for the ball, making good runs.
00:38:25Scales.
00:38:32Scales.
00:38:35Hitate.
00:38:36He wants to find it again.
00:38:39Joe Wright just sticks to him.
00:38:40Come on, they can't get out of their own half here.
00:38:42On several occasions, it's been fizzed into Eda, and he's just trying to flick it.
00:38:48First time, one of them's going to come off.
00:38:51I think it was Greg Taylor off on that time.
00:38:58Here's Maeda.
00:38:59Here's Maeda.
00:39:11Real Hitate.
00:39:14Goal scorer Cameron Carter-Vickers.
00:39:20Joyston.
00:39:21That's a good turn away.
00:39:22Here's Forrest.
00:39:25Engels.
00:39:26Peels off.
00:39:27Cuts back.
00:39:29That's good football from Celtic.
00:39:31Here's Johnston.
00:39:32Into the box again.
00:39:33Real Hitate with the chance.
00:39:34Pick your moment.
00:39:35Pick your spot.
00:39:37It's Celtic 4.
00:39:38Kilmarnock now.
00:39:39This is a hammer in 23 minutes gone.
00:39:43And Celtic are sprinting across the finish line.
00:39:49Brilliant stuff.
00:39:50Brilliant football.
00:39:51It's 4-0.
00:39:53It's another fantastic goal.
00:39:56Lovely 1-2 on the right-hand side.
00:39:58James Forrest and Alistair Johnson.
00:40:02Lovely play.
00:40:03Comes back out here from Engels.
00:40:05This is a lovely one too.
00:40:07Most potent move in football.
00:40:10Played into Hitate.
00:40:11Composure personified.
00:40:13Takes all the time in the world and rolls it in for the fourth.
00:40:16Number 10 for the season.
00:40:20He's in the double figures now, Rio.
00:40:23Superb return for the midfielder.
00:40:26And a superb goal.
00:40:28It's a fantastic four.
00:40:3025 minutes gone.
00:40:37Previous best, Simon.
00:40:38Nine goals in the season.
00:40:412022-23.
00:40:42Celtic clinched the treble that year under Ange Postacoglu.
00:40:46Rio Hitate surpasses his Celtic best.
00:40:49His season best of nine.
00:40:51And he's been terrific this afternoon already.
00:40:55Two goals really top quality.
00:40:57Lovely strike.
00:40:57And then that one, Composure.
00:40:59Doesn't rush it.
00:41:01Takes his time and sweeps it away.
00:41:03But well worked on the right-hand side between Johnson and a nice little one to the James Forrest.
00:41:07I think the manager will be best pleased with the reaction.
00:41:13Freshened it up and 4-0 after 25 minutes isn't too bad.
00:41:18That's the interesting thing, Simon.
00:41:20With the changes, players are playing for positions now.
00:41:23Complacency always kills.
00:41:26Competition kills complacency is the term.
00:41:30Yeah, with a big game around the corner next week.
00:41:33We've got a strong bench there as well.
00:41:34But these guys have started the game.
00:41:36Started it brilliantly.
00:41:37Scales to Maeda.
00:41:43Mayo and Armstrong, the double mark in Dyson.
00:41:46Ball comes into the box.
00:41:48It's not quite a way it is now.
00:41:50It's Scales.
00:41:52Cries of shoot from the Celtics support.
00:41:57Shoot.
00:42:02Maeda.
00:42:07I think it's more Cameron Carter-Vickers they want to shoot.
00:42:14I just think they want to see more goals.
00:42:16Don't we all?
00:42:17Callum McGregor now.
00:42:25Callum McGregor now.
00:42:30Lovely ball.
00:42:32It's cut out from Taylor.
00:42:34Scales puts the challenge on.
00:42:37Celtic come away with the ball.
00:42:38Ian Cetate on a hat-trick now.
00:42:43It's well defended.
00:42:46This is probably torture from a commandment point of view.
00:42:49Yeah, it's a long afternoon now.
00:42:554-0 down for the half hour, Mark.
00:43:02Cameron Carter-Vickers.
00:43:03It's very quick passing from Celtic.
00:43:09No player.
00:43:11Really taking more than a couple of touches on the ball.
00:43:20Scales.
00:43:21He done.
00:43:37Can't keep it in play.
00:43:38He doesn't.
00:43:40Come on.
00:43:41Try to get over the halfway line here.
00:43:46Johnson has penalised for a foul.
00:43:51Really disappointing for Derek McInnes and his team.
00:44:03Try and figure out what to do next.
00:44:05These are the games that the commandment really aren't judged on, Simon.
00:44:08No, they aren't.
00:44:09But he touched on it at the start.
00:44:11They're down at the wrong end of the table now.
00:44:14Looking over their shoulders.
00:44:17And you don't need a heavy defeat.
00:44:18And Ford now before half for an hour.
00:44:22Just auger well for the rest of the game.
00:44:24How they react.
00:44:25We'll wait and see.
00:44:26And here's Danny Armstrong.
00:44:27He's always capable of a moment.
00:44:29It's a good ball into the box.
00:44:30And that's a great goal from Danny Armstrong.
00:44:34And Kilmarnock have a goal back.
00:44:37It's first of the season.
00:44:39But that is a, whether he meant it or he didn't mean it, Kilmarnock have a moment back in the game, Simon.
00:44:46Yeah, well, I mentioned he's a player of quality.
00:44:49We were asking how they would react.
00:44:51I think he's maybe just putting that into a dangerous area.
00:44:53It certainly is.
00:44:55It's over the keeper.
00:44:57And finds its way into the goal at the back post.
00:45:00It's a good delivery.
00:45:03Sonichalo.
00:45:05Couldn't quite get there.
00:45:06But it's hard to tell if it was a cross or a shot.
00:45:11Well, it puts it into an area.
00:45:12Puts it into a dangerous area.
00:45:15There's always the potential of it getting in at that back post, which it did.
00:45:21Nine goals last season for Danny Armstrong.
00:45:24That's his first this season.
00:45:27Always a threat for Kilmarnock.
00:45:30But that's a glimmer of something for them in this first half.
00:45:36You wouldn't fancy them probably coming back into the game.
00:45:41But nonetheless, a clean sheet is gone for Celtic.
00:45:50Ida just loses control.
00:45:52Brad Lyons.
00:45:54And he goes down.
00:45:56After Hattati puts a foul in.
00:45:57That will just calm things down a little bit for Kilmarnock.
00:46:08They'll have something.
00:46:09Their reaction will be more about trying to keep it down now and if they can maybe nick another to make the scoreline look a bit better.
00:46:20Here's MacGregor.
00:46:25Does well to skip away.
00:46:27He's going to put the pass in for Dyson Maeda now.
00:46:30Here's Maeda with Lewis Maeda in front of him.
00:46:32Here's Maeda.
00:46:33Wants to get past him.
00:46:33And that goes for a corner kick.
00:46:38Good defending from Lewis Maio.
00:46:40Yeah, it was a great break from the skitter.
00:46:42Callum McGregor carrying the ball at his feet.
00:46:44At pace.
00:46:46Thread it into Maeda.
00:46:48He just wanted to be direct as normal.
00:46:52In the corner.
00:46:53But, you know, Anna Engels goes over to take the corner.
00:46:58So, it looks like this will be a delivery into the box for Celtic.
00:47:03Half and hour gone.
00:47:04Five goals in this one.
00:47:09Engels delivers the ball.
00:47:11That's a good delivery.
00:47:12Lines heads the ball away.
00:47:14As does Fraser Murray.
00:47:16Celtic claim for the throw-in.
00:47:18But it goes away of Kilmarnock.
00:47:23Only 1-1 for Kilmarnock.
00:47:27It looks like that won't be changing any time soon.
00:47:311-1 in the past 85 away games at Celtic Park.
00:47:37And if it's one of our other Celtic TV commentators, Simon,
00:47:41who got the goal, or one of the goals that afternoon
00:47:44for Kilmarnock, Kellyan Sheridan.
00:47:46And a 2-0 win back in 2012.
00:47:491-1 in 85.
00:47:50It's a wretched return.
00:47:52I thought you were going to mention Peter Grant.
00:47:53I was about to say, that far back.
00:47:56So, it was big Kelly.
00:47:57Even never scored against Celtic.
00:48:01Yeah, Kelly and Sheridan back in 2012.
00:48:04For Kenny Shields as Kilmarnock in those days.
00:48:09I thought you were talking about the Celtic goal.
00:48:10So, what year was that?
00:48:152012.
00:48:162012.
00:48:171-1 in 85 away games.
00:48:18I don't see it changing this afternoon.
00:48:20It's not going to be 1-1 in 86, but it's 18 draws in 66 defeats.
00:48:26That's quite incredible for, you know, a Premiership club to have that sort of record over such a long period of time.
00:48:34It stretches back to the 1950s.
00:48:36Yeah.
00:48:37I just think, though, the recent years and the success with Celtic, I think if you look at anything, I think they'll have strong records against most of the opposition.
00:48:46They're so strong here at Celtic Park.
00:48:47Yeah, well, Kilmarnock's success, I should say, usually comes against Celtic at Rugby Park.
00:48:52Yeah.
00:48:53Brendan Rodgers, he's lost four times to Kilmarnock.
00:48:56It's the joint most of any Scottish Premiership team.
00:48:59Yeah, I remember it out of the cup there last year as well.
00:49:01Two defeats there last season.
00:49:03A couple when he's first spell at the club as well.
00:49:07It can be a problematic venue.
00:49:09But we won the title there last season as Celtic get going again.
00:49:12That's a lovely ball from Maeda.
00:49:14Here's Ida.
00:49:15And Kilmarnock claim.
00:49:17For a foul, it's meant for a goal kick, it seems.
00:49:20But Ida was looking for the corner kick, at least, but none to be given.
00:49:26Yeah, just a little flick from Maeda there.
00:49:29I think it maybe just comes off Adam in the end, possibly.
00:49:33And goes for goal kick.
00:49:37Stuart Finlay, former Celtic youth player.
00:49:40He's been in the MLS as well, Philadelphia Union.
00:49:43Kieran O'Hara gets the ball back in play.
00:49:53Just as the game slightly calms down a bit after a goal fest from Celtic in this first half.
00:50:00And Danny Armstrong getting one back for Kilmarnock.
00:50:06Here's Carter Vickers.
00:50:18He puts his hands up, but here's Hattati.
00:50:25Johnston for James Forrest.
00:50:40Forrest to Johnston.
00:50:43A lovely flick into the box.
00:50:45Engels is in there.
00:50:46It's headed away.
00:50:48Clucked up into the air.
00:50:49Watson.
00:50:53It's a tour ball.
00:50:58It's Greg Taylor going to get there.
00:51:00Tackle goes in.
00:51:02Kilmarnock do come away with it.
00:51:06Maeda in there as well.
00:51:07Kilmarnock just hanging on here.
00:51:09Ida.
00:51:12Really scrappy football.
00:51:14And Kilmarnock do have the free kick for the challenge on Donnelly.
00:51:18Yeah, Maeda catches him, but there was three pieces of play there just before.
00:51:22He does not give up.
00:51:24It's incredible watching him.
00:51:27He closes one man onto the next.
00:51:30Gives a free kick away, but that was his fourth attempt to try to retrieve the ball in a short space of time.
00:51:37He's got the engine of a Ferrari Formula One car.
00:51:40Thanks, Maeda.
00:51:41Celtic.
00:51:47Celtic, Simon, 89% possession in this game.
00:51:52That is quite a remarkable start in itself to have the ball that much.
00:51:57Counter-Vickers clears the headers in the Salo.
00:51:59Really should collect this, but 89% possession, Simon.
00:52:03Yeah, it's dominant.
00:52:04that's a Celtic Barcelona territory isn't it
00:52:07it's a strong strong start
00:52:09and out with the Kilmarnock goal
00:52:12they haven't ventured forward
00:52:13they haven't been allowed to venture forward
00:52:15at all really
00:52:16only one shot on target for Kilmarnock
00:52:19and it's the goal
00:52:23Danny Armstrong
00:52:23whether it was a shot on target
00:52:26in terms of an actual shot
00:52:28but we don't know
00:52:30Taylor
00:52:33Scales
00:52:39Cal McGregor
00:52:46James Forrest
00:52:53patient build up from Celtic
00:53:00as they just look for an opening
00:53:02Scales
00:53:09looks like he's pinned on his man
00:53:11here's Maeda now
00:53:12to Hatate
00:53:13Celtic work it
00:53:15good football
00:53:18once again
00:53:19Johnston
00:53:20just trying to push Celtic out
00:53:24here's Forrest
00:53:25Engels back to Forrest
00:53:28goes back to the Belgian
00:53:30Scales
00:53:36Maeda
00:53:45Maeda
00:53:45got Lewis Mayo
00:53:47now
00:53:48goes on to the right foot
00:53:49Hatate
00:53:49lovely
00:53:50one two
00:53:51goes across goal
00:53:52and there's a Celtic corner
00:53:54once again
00:53:55great football
00:53:56yeah nice slick football
00:53:57yeah nice slick football again from Celtic
00:53:58starting this right hand side
00:54:01walked its way over to the left hand side
00:54:02another little one two
00:54:03shot one two
00:54:04opens up
00:54:05get behind the
00:54:06Kilmarnock
00:54:08defence lane
00:54:09and we run another corner
00:54:10on the angles over this one

00:54:17and the lights all up
00:54:19can Celtic get a fifth
00:54:20before
00:54:20half time
00:54:22ball comes in
00:54:22it's well headed away
00:54:24Cal McGregor
00:54:28goes to retrieve
00:54:29McGregor
00:54:37suppose the challenge for Celtic
00:54:49is to keep the levels up
00:54:50Simon
00:54:51I know a couple of weeks ago
00:54:53they had a really good first half
00:54:54against Hearts
00:54:55but the second half
00:54:55was probably a bit flat
00:54:57they'll probably
00:54:57just
00:54:58the challenges to keep it at that level
00:55:00yeah I think so
00:55:01but I think this afternoon
00:55:02has been a really
00:55:03good performance up until now
00:55:04they're moving the ball
00:55:05very quickly
00:55:07you look sharp
00:55:09and you
00:55:12you look to the bench
00:55:13it's a strong bench
00:55:14you know
00:55:14so the manager might decide
00:55:16after the hour mark
00:55:17to add a
00:55:19one or two players on
00:55:21but I think his message
00:55:22will be at half time as well
00:55:24to keep that intensity
00:55:25and go for more goals
00:55:26one thing that's always
00:55:32struck me
00:55:33is a bit strange
00:55:34I know we've got a
00:55:34local time
00:55:3512.30pm kick off
00:55:37but the team's going for
00:55:39the split
00:55:40and relegation play off
00:55:42just before
00:55:42getting into the split
00:55:44it's strange that the games
00:55:44aren't played all at the same time
00:55:46isn't it?
00:55:46yeah I know
00:55:47I know
00:55:47a strange one
00:55:49but that is the
00:55:50the Pimmers that do the scheduling
00:55:53against Sinasalo
00:55:57young goalkeeper
00:55:59just looks for Greg Taylor
00:56:01it goes out of play
00:56:02five minutes or so
00:56:05until half time
00:56:06half time feature
00:56:10of classic games
00:56:11against Kilmarnock
00:56:12at Celtic Park
00:56:13over the years
00:56:14so one to enjoy
00:56:19during the half time break
00:56:20Cameron Carter-Vickers
00:56:32points the ball out
00:56:32to James Forrest
00:56:33Taylor
00:56:40that's good football again
00:56:42from Celtic
00:56:43Greg Taylor
00:56:49Johnston
00:56:54looking for a lot of movement
00:56:55here's Forrest
00:56:56oh it's early for Ida
00:56:58collects the ball in
00:56:59he's looking for support
00:57:00here's Forrest again
00:57:01spreads it out to
00:57:03Ingles
00:57:04Itati
00:57:09it's Carter-Vickers
00:57:18lovely ball
00:57:21here's Ida
00:57:21pads it down
00:57:23here's Itati
00:57:24is it the hat-trick?
00:57:25it's Maeda
00:57:26he's in there again
00:57:27and it's goal
00:57:30number five
00:57:31what a first half
00:57:34this is for Celtic
00:57:35Hatati denied the hat-trick
00:57:38but Maeda bounces
00:57:40it's Celtic five
00:57:42come on at one Simon
00:57:43yeah right place
00:57:45at the right time
00:57:45again
00:57:46how many times have we
00:57:47said it this season
00:57:47it's a lovely little clip
00:57:49we'll maybe have to look at that one
00:57:53maybe offside
00:57:54I don't think he means to lay that
00:57:56in fact I know he doesn't
00:57:57but Hatati comes in
00:57:58it's lovely feet again
00:57:59he just tries to lift it over the keeper
00:58:00for the hat-trick
00:58:02keeper gets a little bit on it
00:58:04nice feet again
00:58:05it falls to Maeda
00:58:07no nonsense
00:58:08smashes it in
00:58:09but we'll need to look for that
00:58:10initial part
00:58:12we had Amida
00:58:13it was tight
00:58:13yeah but that will be
00:58:16reviewed
00:58:17we'll have a little look
00:58:18just here
00:58:19looks like he's slightly
00:58:21leaning
00:58:21but we shall see
00:58:24will Maeda be denied
00:58:25his 32nd goal
00:58:27of
00:58:27the campaign
00:58:29if he does get it
00:58:31he's had the easier goals
00:58:33this afternoon Simon
00:58:34well that one wasn't quite as easy
00:58:36as fast but he still has to be there
00:58:39and aware
00:58:40where the goal is
00:58:41on his left foot
00:58:43it's a decent finish
00:58:44let's see
00:58:45now the VAR
00:58:46Gavin Duncan
00:58:47and his assistant VAR
00:58:48Gary Holland
00:58:49will be drawing the lines
00:58:50it looks like this goal
00:58:52is offside
00:58:53the goal's dropped off
00:58:54it remains Celtic 4
00:58:56Kilmarnock 1
00:58:57it's still 31 goals
00:58:58for the season
00:59:00for Dyson Maeda
00:59:01and another chance
00:59:02Rio Hatati will get
00:59:03to get his hat-trick
00:59:04but that's so tight
00:59:05isn't it Simon
00:59:06yeah
00:59:07not saying anything else
00:59:09yeah it's tight
00:59:11well I don't need that
00:59:15a judge to be offside
00:59:17but it doesn't take the shine
00:59:19off what has been an excellent
00:59:20first half of football
00:59:21for Celtic
00:59:22certainly doesn't
00:59:25it was a lovely take
00:59:26I don't think
00:59:27as I say
00:59:28it bounces off
00:59:29either
00:59:29it's pretty controller
00:59:30lovely take from
00:59:31that was
00:59:33a bit tight for Celtic
00:59:35but they've turned the ball over
00:59:36really well now
00:59:37he knows Taylor
00:59:38he goes
00:59:39he's footing in the middle
00:59:41yeah it was lovely footwork
00:59:43from Hitati
00:59:43trying to seek out
00:59:45his hat-trick
00:59:45off these disappointment
00:59:46that he hadn't got
00:59:47the hat-trick
00:59:47yeah but
00:59:48here's Johnston
00:59:51good ball through
00:59:55here's Maeda in there
00:59:56again and that will go for
00:59:58a Celtic corner kick
01:00:00on the stroke of
01:00:01half time
01:00:02looks like it's Liam Donnelly
01:00:06that's down
01:00:06your namesake Simon
01:00:07yeah no relation
01:00:09off the ball
01:00:12incident with Arna Engles
01:00:14so much
01:00:15I'm not sure if it was
01:00:22Donnelly who
01:00:23had the initial altercation
01:00:26see as Engles was running
01:00:27earlier on in that piece of play
01:00:28it seems okay
01:00:33he looks like he will be
01:00:35fine
01:00:36he will live another day
01:00:37one minute added
01:00:41a minimum of one minute
01:00:42added here
01:00:43at the end of the first half
01:00:45at Celtic Park
01:00:46wherever you are
01:00:47in the world
01:00:48whether you're ahead of
01:00:50Glasgow
01:00:51or behind
01:00:51I hope you've enjoyed
01:00:52that first half
01:00:53from Celtic
01:00:56hopefully more to come
01:00:59as John Beaton
01:01:00just has a
01:01:01quick word
01:01:01finally Engles
01:01:02who knows what
01:01:04about
01:01:05Engles
01:01:1212 assists
01:01:14for the season
01:01:14and he put another one
01:01:17on the plate here
01:01:18ball comes in
01:01:22it's Maeda again
01:01:24in there
01:01:25and that one
01:01:26just goes
01:01:27I'm begging for him
01:01:28he just takes up
01:01:31great positions
01:01:32round the back
01:01:32this time
01:01:33and almost falls
01:01:33to him again
01:01:34he's flipped in
01:01:37at pace
01:01:37but he comes round
01:01:38us back
01:01:38many times
01:01:39we see him
01:01:39picking up areas
01:01:41at the back post
01:01:41sticking it in the back
01:01:43that one's behind
01:01:44a little bit more
01:01:45difficult
01:01:45to make contact
01:01:46it amazes me
01:01:47Simon
01:01:48the amount of defenders
01:01:49I just don't know
01:01:49he's there
01:01:50he's always on the move
01:01:52he's always on the move
01:01:53and he's so quick
01:01:54Hara plays the ball in
01:01:59half time
01:02:00shouldn't be far away
01:02:01now
01:02:01five goals
01:02:06one minute added
01:02:07and that is half time
01:02:09that Celtic Park
01:02:10Rio Hattati
01:02:11got the scoring
01:02:12underway
01:02:13with a wonderful effort
01:02:15a cutler into the top corner
01:02:17Dijamada
01:02:19tucked one away
01:02:19to make it
01:02:202-0
01:02:21Cameron Carter-Vickers
01:02:22a thunderbolt
01:02:24to put Celtic
01:02:26three up
01:02:26the scoring
01:02:27hadn't finished there
01:02:28as Rio Hattati
01:02:29made it 4-0
01:02:31before Danny Armstrong
01:02:32replied back
01:02:34for Kilmarnock
01:02:35as Celtic
01:02:36go into half time
01:02:374-1 to the good Simon
01:02:39just a quick one
01:02:40great first half
01:02:42from Celtic
01:02:42have you enjoyed it
01:02:43very enjoyable
01:02:44very enjoyable
01:02:46I think the fans
01:02:47in the stadium here
01:02:48will reciprocate that
01:02:50as well
01:02:50fantastic performance
01:02:51to Celtic
01:02:52bit of criticism
01:02:53this week
01:02:54on their performance
01:02:54last week
01:02:55managers made
01:02:56a few changes
01:02:57and that's a
01:02:58fantastic first half
01:02:59performance
01:03:00with some top quality goals
01:03:01yep top quality goals
01:03:02let's hope they
01:03:03don't stop in the
01:03:04second half
01:03:05hopefully more to come
01:03:06it's time now to take a trip
01:03:08down memory lane
01:03:08at Celtic Park
01:03:09as we live some
01:03:10classic moments
01:03:11against Kilmarnock
01:03:12in today's latest edition
01:03:14of Classic Matches
01:03:16here's Geoffrey
01:03:37touch across
01:03:40Kokar scored
01:03:41well well well
01:03:45how on air did he out
01:03:46jump the centre
01:03:47of defence here
01:03:48here it is
01:03:50going across there
01:03:51and Kokar did
01:03:53splendidly to get up there
01:03:55and put it away
01:03:56gold transfixed
01:03:57so the old Celtic
01:04:09at the moment
01:04:09Maravchek getting
01:04:12more into the game
01:04:13that's better play
01:04:14he did hardly
01:04:15anything like that
01:04:16in the first half
01:04:17blinker
01:04:21resets
01:04:25now Maravchek's
01:04:29beginning to play
01:04:30that must be this
01:04:33game
01:04:34yes
01:04:34he's got the equaliser
01:04:38suddenly they found
01:04:39a gap in a
01:04:40Kilmarnock defence
01:04:41right getting
01:04:42the initial touch
01:04:43and Viduka
01:04:45putting it away
01:04:46and you felt
01:04:48that goal
01:04:48was bound to come
01:04:49given the fact
01:04:50that Kilmarnock
01:04:51seemed set
01:04:52back on the heels
01:04:53not the easiest
01:04:56to want to take
01:04:57but a challenge
01:04:57by the defender
01:04:58but he remained
01:04:59perfectly cool
01:05:00one each
01:05:01here's Maravchek
01:05:12beautiful ball
01:05:14inside again
01:05:15here for Duka
01:05:16brilliant header
01:05:18a really
01:05:21marvellous cross
01:05:22there
01:05:23earlier on
01:05:25Maravchek had to
01:05:26contribute something
01:05:27to this game
01:05:27he'd done
01:05:28nothing in the first
01:05:30half
01:05:30now look at this
01:05:31beautifully curved
01:05:32ball
01:05:32and the strength
01:05:33and the power
01:05:34of Viduka
01:05:35paying off
01:05:36there
01:05:362-1
01:05:37it's an enticing
01:05:47run again
01:05:48Viduka
01:05:51incredibly
01:05:52rising above
01:05:57everybody else
01:05:58a brilliant
01:06:08hat trick
01:06:09by Viduka
01:06:09nobody covering
01:06:11him
01:06:11and I think
01:06:13even at this
01:06:13stage
01:06:14it puts the game
01:06:15well beyond
01:06:15any doubt
01:06:16Debeli
01:06:21he sets
01:06:26up there by Celtic
01:06:29looking the ball
01:06:29around well
01:06:30Macho picking up
01:06:32I think he'll
01:06:33up by himself
01:06:34oh that's a great
01:06:35goal
01:06:36he's done it
01:06:38hard hit for
01:06:41Joyce's
01:06:41as Ian Wright
01:06:43after so many
01:06:45near misses
01:06:45flies up there
01:06:47and no half
01:06:49measures with this
01:06:50man
01:06:50he did it
01:06:51in spectacular
01:06:52fashion
01:06:53all credit
01:06:54to the youngster
01:06:55inside him
01:06:56who's learning
01:06:57his trade
01:06:57and there's
01:06:59an Ashter
01:07:00craftsman at
01:07:00work
01:07:01here's Wright
01:07:08Macho
01:07:13putting it
01:07:14back in
01:07:14there
01:07:15Bullock
01:07:15and he put it
01:07:16away
01:07:16great goal
01:07:17wonderful
01:07:20triangular
01:07:21move
01:07:22number five
01:07:26and just watch
01:07:30how this all
01:07:30started from
01:07:31Wright's
01:07:32magnificent pass
01:07:33across here
01:07:34good perception
01:07:35by Burchill to lay
01:07:37it back
01:07:37and there's the chest
01:07:40and then the foot
01:07:41and there was no doubt
01:07:43where that was going
01:07:43to end up
01:07:44eventually
01:07:44Celtic run away
01:07:47with this
01:07:47here's to Giacomo
01:07:50Johnson
01:07:51wanted it played
01:07:53through to him
01:07:54well that's poor
01:07:55because he should have
01:07:56slept him in
01:07:56there
01:07:56he was free
01:07:58Alan Johnston
01:07:59chances don't come much
01:08:16better
01:08:17as I have to say
01:08:17at this level
01:08:18that's a fantastic
01:08:19chance
01:08:20he gets a better
01:08:21look here
01:08:21Chorovsky
01:08:22it's deflected
01:08:23to the far
01:08:24post
01:08:24he's got time
01:08:25and space
01:08:25it's at a good
01:08:25height
01:08:26you can see
01:08:27the disappointment
01:08:28he's faced
01:08:28that should have
01:08:29been in the back
01:08:29of the net
01:08:30it's a great ball
01:08:45again
01:08:46he's had a fantastic
01:08:47start to the game
01:08:47Cameron
01:08:48that's a fantastic
01:08:49ball
01:08:49Gary Caldwell
01:08:55has lost it
01:08:56to Stephen
01:08:56Maysmith
01:08:57fantastic opportunity
01:08:59second chance
01:09:00maybe for
01:09:01Naismith
01:09:01and Boric
01:09:02fails out
01:09:03Celtic
01:09:04with a double
01:09:04save
01:09:05what is Gary
01:09:06Caldwell doing
01:09:07trying to run
01:09:08the ball out
01:09:08of defence
01:09:09Stephen Smith
01:09:10does well
01:09:10Stephen Naismith
01:09:11does well
01:09:11decent shot
01:09:13good save
01:09:13from the keeper
01:09:14I think
01:09:15Jim Jeffries
01:09:17will be looking
01:09:17at that
01:09:18as a chance
01:09:18gone
01:09:18decent save
01:09:21Kenny Miller
01:09:26has caught out
01:09:28David Lilley
01:09:29that could be
01:09:30ominous for
01:09:30Killy
01:09:30especially as
01:09:31Miller
01:09:32has found
01:09:32Saraski
01:09:33that'll do
01:09:36for starters
01:09:37this season
01:09:38Macef
01:09:39Saraski
01:09:40on target
01:09:41as the
01:09:42new strike force
01:09:43combines a great
01:09:45effect
01:09:45for what a mistake
01:09:46from Lilley
01:09:46well it was a dreadful
01:09:50mistake
01:09:51from Lilley
01:09:52he had time
01:09:53and he had space
01:09:54Kenny Miller
01:09:55does fantastically
01:09:56well
01:09:56cuts inside
01:09:57picks his head
01:09:58up
01:09:58that's a fantastic
01:09:59pass to Saraski
01:10:00and that's
01:10:01clinical
01:10:02and he proved it
01:10:03last season
01:10:03he can score goals
01:10:04after a slow start
01:10:05Saraski
01:10:05and his strike
01:10:06partner
01:10:07puts it on a plate
01:10:07for him
01:10:08last ditch
01:10:09attempt on the line
01:10:10but it's far too late
01:10:12and Jim Jeffers
01:10:12will be absolutely
01:10:13fuming
01:10:14because Kulman
01:10:14have started
01:10:15this game
01:10:15reasonably well
01:10:16Wilson
01:10:21Miller
01:10:23sets it up nicely
01:10:26for Saraski
01:10:27Jarasik
01:10:28welcome to Celtic
01:10:32Jiri Jarasik
01:10:34makes his mark
01:10:35it's 2-0
01:10:37for the champions
01:10:38well we talked about it
01:10:40a few minutes ago
01:10:41we said
01:10:42him and Stylian Petro
01:10:43alternating getting forward
01:10:44once again
01:10:46it's a great play
01:10:46from Kenny Miller
01:10:47holds it up
01:10:47love the little touch
01:10:48great ball in
01:10:49from Saraski
01:10:50and there's your
01:10:50midfield player
01:10:51that's where you want him
01:10:53you don't want him
01:10:54on the edge of the box
01:10:54he's a goal threat
01:10:55it's a fantastic ball
01:10:57and he's getting in there
01:10:58that's where he's going
01:10:58to get on the score sheet
01:11:00it's only the second time
01:11:02in the match
01:11:02he's actually gotten
01:11:03into the box
01:11:04the delivery was fantastic
01:11:06the finish was excellent
01:11:08if not a little bit lucky
01:11:09because it came off his shoulder
01:11:10it doesn't matter
01:11:11a goal to Jarasik
01:11:12it's 2-0 to Celtic
01:11:14Petrov
01:11:17and now Zoravsky
01:11:18and White at the slot
01:11:20of the second half
01:11:21Celtic are bearing down
01:11:22on goal again
01:11:23Zoravsky
01:11:24nearly
01:11:26but not quite
01:11:27well carved open again
01:11:30the commander defends
01:11:31what a ball
01:11:31from Stylian Petrov
01:11:32flicked over his head
01:11:34good movement again
01:11:34from the front two
01:11:35Kenny Miller
01:11:36doesn't quite make
01:11:37the right run
01:11:37Zoravsky takes it all
01:11:39his self
01:11:39difficult angle
01:11:40makes a bit of space
01:11:41makes a half a yard
01:11:42for his self
01:11:42Celtic Park
01:11:45holds its breath
01:11:46they were quite like
01:11:49another goal
01:11:49just to be sure
01:11:51of things
01:11:51Nakamura
01:11:52he's capable of doing
01:12:05special things
01:12:05he's got a fantastic touch
01:12:08he can see a pass
01:12:09from set pieces
01:12:10he can get it up and down
01:12:11with that amount of pace
01:12:12goalkeeper's no chance
01:12:14he was over the wall
01:12:15back down with the pace
01:12:17swinging away from the goalkeeper
01:12:18fantastic free kick
01:12:21Stephen Naismith
01:12:28could get to that
01:12:29and does
01:12:30clinical volley
01:12:31from Naismith
01:12:33and Kilmarnock do have
01:12:35something to show
01:12:35for their efforts
01:12:36at Celtic Park
01:12:36but what a goal it was
01:12:38it was a fantastic finish
01:12:39the ball loops up
01:12:40Celtic don't clear it
01:12:41he makes a nuisance
01:12:42of his self
01:12:43on his left foot
01:12:44and that's a fantastic finish
01:12:46it's come too late
01:12:47in the game
01:12:48but he's worked hard
01:12:49Naismith
01:12:49we know he's a player
01:12:50that's capable
01:12:51Boric had no chance
01:12:52and that is a fantastic finish
01:12:54Taraski
01:13:00now Snow
01:13:02Kenny Miller making a run
01:13:04but Snow's got it all wrong
