00:00Standing here beside you, wants so much to give you this love in my heart, and I'm feeling for you.
00:10Let's see what brings me.
00:18Hello Los Angeles!
00:22Oligarchy or democracy?
00:25But we cannot have both.
00:27Los Angeles, I've made my choice.
00:32We must fight the oligarchy that has created this nightmare.
00:36And that is why I have never taken money from lobbyists or corporations, and it's why I never will.
00:44No matter if you have all the right words to say.
00:48No matter your race, religion, gender identity, or status.
00:54No matter if you disagree with me on some things.
00:58But if you are willing to fight for someone that you don't know, you are welcome here.
01:04We are living in a moment of extraordinary danger, and how we respond to this moment will not only impact our lives,
01:19but will impact the lives of our kids, and future generations, and in terms of the climate.
01:29It will depend, we can depend on whether or not the planet Earth survives.
01:36That's why we're here today.
01:38We're living in a moment with a president who has no understanding or respect for the Constitution of the United States.
01:48We're fighting a president who undermines our Constitution every day, and threatens our freedom of speech and assembly,
01:56and whose agents are rounding up innocent people off the streets, putting them in unmarked vans, and throwing them in detention centers.
02:11That is what happens in dictatorships, not democracies.
02:16And we're going to stop that outrageous action on the part of the president.
02:23Yeah, I feel like each day I see a new headline that, like, terrifies me.
02:26And I just think it's really important to be showing up in, I don't know, you know, whose power in numbers.
02:32It seems like the other side, if you will, is very loud, and so it makes it seem like there's more of them than there are of people like me.
02:41And so to be someplace where, like, all of these people are coming from, you know, who knows how far they've traveled to come to this event,
02:48like-minded, it makes me feel less alone.
02:52And I think when you feel like you have people around you that believe similar things, you feel like you can actually change something.
03:00Yeah, I feel like right now it just feels like a scary time and it feels uncertain and it feels like there's not much hope, right?
03:07So I feel like coming to a place like this today where so many people who are like-minded and feel hope and know that there is something better for us, potentially, hopefully.
03:19We're only a couple months into this administration and it just feels like it's getting worse every day.
03:30But that's a reason why it's getting worse.
