00:00Thank you, Mr. Chairman.
00:04The chair now recognizes the ranking member of the full committee, Ms. Waters, for one
00:07minute.
00:08Ms. Thank you very much, Mr. Chairman.
00:13Trump and Musk are dismantling the nation's housing agencies and raising housing costs
00:19with tariffs on some building materials while this committee pretends nothing unusual is
00:25happening.
00:26Many Democrats and I have sent three letters to and requested a briefing from HUD Secretary
00:32Turner.
00:33I've also asked Chair Hill to invite him to testify.
00:37We have received zero responses of Republicans who have been instructed to not hold town halls
00:44anymore, scared by what the public will think if Turner has to answer for how Trump is running
00:52our housing market and economy.
00:55Hopefully, my Republican colleagues will uphold their oath to protect the Constitution and
01:00the American people and finally conduct oversight of HUD.
01:03I wish I had more time.
01:05I would talk about the entire dysfunction of this government under Trump, all of the recalling
01:11that they have to do, the changes they have to make.
01:14Even our nuclear program was at risk because they fired their employees and then had to call
01:21them back.
01:22I could go on and on and on.
01:23If you want to talk about dysfunction, let's talk about what is happening with this administration.
01:28I yield back.
