00:01Be careful, she's protective.
00:02I went over to him and expected him just to jump up.
00:06Every attempt he made to stand up, he would come crashing on the ground.
00:12I knew something was up because babies get up quickly and they're attempting to nurse.
00:19We arrived at the vet and they missed the nutrients.
00:24We were going to do whatever it took.
00:28Finally, he starts suckling out of the bottle and he said, he's getting it, he's learning how to drink.
00:40He wasn't latched onto her yet, but he was able to stand and to walk.
00:46We're thinking, he's running with his mother.
00:48We couldn't believe he was so stable.
00:50And he comes back and crashes and we had to rush him to the vet for the second time.
00:55We found out that if a baby didn't get squeezed exactly right as they came out of the birth canal,
01:02some chemicals hadn't been turned off.
01:05Oh, wake up those little legs.
01:07The vet put him through this squeeze procedure with the ropes wrapped around him.
01:18He came out and he slowly started gaining his equilibrium.
01:22We got pretty close at the vet's office with him trying to latch on with their assistants.
01:28We headed back home and he started teaching him and showing him the mother's udders.
01:33That was so good.
01:38Yep, yep, yep, yep, yep, yep, yep.
01:40That moment of him finally getting it, it meant that he, he was going to live.
01:46He was going to survive.
01:47So rewarding to see them being a mother and a foal for the first time without us intervening.
01:55There is hope in a lot of situations if you just give it some love and patience.
