Song Name / Song Piece Minuet In G
Recommended tempo for this piece is 116 bpm. In order to play this charming Minuet well, a good legato (smooth) touch is probably best for the right hand quavers, along with staccato (detached) crotchets - as marked in the score. With regards to the left hand crotchets, they can generally be played in a semi-staccato style (but not too much) with a slight detachment between each note… this is typical of the Baroque style. Keep in mind that around the time that this piece was written (probably in the early 1700’s) the piano was in it’s infancy and the more common keyboard instruments of the day would have been the harpsichord and church organ.
