Mumbai, April 17, 2025 (ANI): Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on April 17 said that speaking Marathi was mandatory in the state, emphasising the government's move to make the language compulsory in line with the implementation of the new education policy.“We are implementing the New Education Policy under which we are trying to ensure that everyone here learns Marathi as well as other languages of the country. I think this is being done to realise the idea of the central government that there should be a connecting language across the country. We decided earlier that Marathi would be compulsory here, but along with that, everyone can learn English, Hindi, and other languages,” said Devendra Fadnavis.
