Sandy Bear Children’s Bereavement Charity has given a heartfelt thanks to Tenby’s Mayor and the community after receiving a generous donation, and for helping to raise awareness of the support available.
Sandy Bear is a registered charity in Milford Haven providing a service to all children and young people up to 18 years who have suffered, or who are likely to suffer a bereavement and live in Pembrokeshire.
The charity aims to reduce emotional difficulties in childhood and the prevalence of mental illness in later life.
“I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Cllr Dai Morgan, Mayor of Tenby, and the members of Tenby Town Council for their recent decision to support Sandy Bear Children’s Bereavement Charity,” said Martin Jones, the charity’s business development manager.
“Sandy Bear provides specialist bereavement support to children and young people across Wales but is based here in Pembrokeshire.
“The impact of our service is profound — not only for the individual child or young person we support, but for their families, schools, peer groups, and the wider communities they are part of.
“When grief is met with care, compassion, and professional support, the long-term benefits ripple outward, helping to build more resilient and emotionally healthy communities.
“It is for this reason that the backing of local communities like Tenby means so much. When a town supports Sandy Bear, it is not simply supporting a charity — it is investing in the wellbeing of its own families, both now and for the future,” he continued.
“We are incredibly grateful for the commitment shown by Cllr Morgan and the Town Council, and for their recognition of the value our service brings.

00:00So, at Temby Town Council, we are delighted to be helping and supporting Sandy Bay.
00:04It's an absolutely brilliant charity to support.
00:07I've known several people who, unfortunately, have to use the services.
00:11And as a town and as a community, we are mostly thankful for them.
00:16And, like I said, we'll happily continue to support the charity as we go along.
