00:00with Bristol City looking to strengthen their place in the championships playoff places and
00:08qualify for the playoffs come the end of the season we've looked back at what has been a
00:13memorable campaign for everyone associated with the Robins at Ashtongate and one that could yet
00:19prove to be even more successful
00:21Dan Bristol City in the championship playoff race obviously incredibly indifferent to sort of the
00:33last couple of months I mean so many strange results so many results we didn't see them getting
00:37points so many where you know they probably should have got points and didn't you know we've mentioned
00:42the inconsistency before I mean it seems like that's sort of ironed out over the last few weeks and
00:48and maybe the side of sort of had a speaking to in terms of these this is now you're running this
00:53is a real chance to get into the the playoff places if not you know that final goal of of Premier League
00:58promotion and that the sort of financial benefits that come with that is unbelievable for a club
01:03like Bristol City who after you know real make a loss most seasons just to settle in the championship
01:09in terms of the race for promotion it's it's hotting up there's only a few points in it I mean
01:15it seems like the top four maybe top obviously the top three are certainly pulled away from the rest
01:20the top four as well probably the likes of Sunderland but anyone's race really all the way down to
01:26maybe even 11th place it's a massive sort of chase it's a huge time now to really go and you know stamp
01:35your authority in this race for it what do you sort of see from Bristol City and where they can go
01:40in the next few weeks well as you say yeah this season has been up until the last couple of months
01:47relatively inconsistent they've been sort of hovering around the mid table had some good
01:52wins but also some really disappointing losses certainly one of their biggest flaws has been
01:56conceding late goals they're just a side who've found something in recent weeks and they've found
02:01that consistency they've got a lot of good players who are suddenly starting to to click and gel
02:06amongst each other you look at the likes of Anis Bometti, Naki Wells a veteran striker, George Earthy,
02:11Mark Sykes for example all contributing both from the starting 11 and from the bench as well I think
02:16that's quite key for them at the moment it's just a side where they just seem to be getting momentum
02:25at the right time of the season because you know teams can start really well but then tail off a
02:29little bit some teams can start you know in a mediocre fashion but then grow into it we're seeing that
02:34with Coventry City right now as well and Bristol City are also one of those teams albeit they do have
02:39a hard run of fixture still to come in the championship but they did prove with that draw
02:45they got against Sheffield United that they're well able to mix it with some of the big boys in this
02:49league and get results at this stage of the season because that's probably not something they would
02:53have done earlier on but now all of a sudden they are doing so they have they still have the odd
02:58frustrating game you know that the home game against Hull City springs to mind but they didn't lose as well
03:02I think the point is I think for Bristol City a lot now is if you can't win don't lose and that was
03:08something they weren't doing before but it is now so it's more a case of they're picking up wins and
03:12if they're not picking up wins they're picking up draws which can still be just as useful in the long
03:17run so it's a testament to all the players and to Liam Manning and to Chris Hogg as assistant as well
03:22to get them where they are but I mean just for the most part they just look like a side who
03:28could just sneak in there you know momentum can be a funny thing in football but I'm not sure what
03:34you think Charles but they just seem to be the side going in the right direction at the right time in
03:38the season. Yeah definitely I mean it looks like that it looks like they've had a real boost in form
03:42and as you say that consistency has just sort of been ironed out and they've sort of turned those
03:47games to not losing games as much as important as winning them and I think the championship is well
03:52summed up by that how much can change I mean you look at Coventry City with Frank Lampard the way
03:56they've sort of rocketed up the table in terms of standout players I mean Anis Mameti has been
04:02unbelievable you know 12 goals as we speak what sort of impact has he made on on the side?
04:09Well yeah the young Albanian is just he's just a real key young talent for them who's he's been
04:15their driving force this season I think obviously at times he was battling to get in the squad but now
04:19he's cemented that place and he's he's really kicked on I think they've got a great setup at Bristol
04:24City where they're still trying to promote youth and he's one of those who they've brought in
04:28and nurtured and he's just showing exactly what he is all about what he can do and you know obviously
04:33you know without him who know where who know you know where they would be but he's there and he's
04:39doing really well for them so all credit to them
04:42Thank you
