00:00All right, fellas, the countdown is on.
00:02Getting close to the 11th hour.
00:03Mother's Day this Sunday.
00:0599.5 QIK.
00:06It's Mark and Melanie.
00:07Tampa Bay is morning crew.
00:08You know, I was a Mother's Day baby.
00:09I was born on Mother's Day.
00:10Aw, what a great Mother's Day gift.
00:12And, yeah, I think, I mean, that's what I, I remember, my mom passed away when I was
00:1618, but I remember talking to her about it, and she was like, yeah, most of the day was
00:20really good, like, after you came, but getting you here was really tough.
00:25So it was like, half the Mother's Day was great.
00:27Yeah, it's like, welcome to being a mom.
00:28She's like, oh, my God.
00:30It's just the most painful day of my life.
00:32Doctors are ripping me out, and it's just, ah, but I remember her telling me most of the
00:37day was really great.
00:38Well, that's good.
00:38And then, but part of the day, she's like, it was tough.
00:41Yeah, it would have been bad if she said most of the day, you know, before you got here.
00:44Right.
00:44That was the good thing.
00:45Right.
00:46You never know, man.
00:48All right, so the Groupon did this survey for Mother's Day this weekend, and these are
00:52the top things moms want.
00:53And so what they did was, is they tracked moms, so people who had Groupon accounts that they
00:57knew were moms and what they were searching for, because what they were thinking is they
01:01were kind of trying to throw hints to people of what to get them.
01:05Got it.
01:05Get what I'm saying?
01:06Yeah.
01:06Like, hey, Bob, there's this thing on Groupon.
01:09It's Mother's Day.
01:10Maybe you should hook me up.
01:12A nice meal at a restaurant came in at number one.
01:15Flowers came in at number two.
01:17A card came in at number three.
01:18I find it hard to believe a card at number three.
01:22I'm surprised it's not higher up, because don't moms love getting cards?
01:26I think that's what everybody wants you to believe, like Hallmark wants you to believe.
01:30I don't know that a mom would really want a card.
01:34That's just me.
01:34I don't know.
01:35Dang, I wasted money on that Love Pop card.
01:38Inside the card, inside the card, is there a $5,000 gift card for Target?
01:45That's a great card.
01:46That's a good card.
01:46But not just a card.
01:47$5,000?
01:48I was just throwing out a number.
01:49Jeez.
01:50I mean, I love you, Mom, but I don't have that much to just give you.
01:53Now you want to be a mom really, really bad.
01:55Yeah.
01:56Something their child made them.
01:58I got to tell you, I don't know.
02:01Like, I think this is cool in the beginning, but as time goes on, because all this stuff starts, like, stacking up, and you don't know where to put it.
02:08Like, we have a drawer, which is now turned into a cabinet, which soon will be probably, like, a storage shed of, like, stuff the kids make you.
02:16It just piles and piles and piles up.
02:19So those Popsicle stick picture frames, those are out when you're 30?
02:23That's a good one, yeah.
02:23You should probably just not make those anymore.
02:25The seashell frames are a big one.
02:27What about the macaroni necklaces?
02:29Are those still cool?
02:30That was, um, that's kind of out now, but it was cool.
02:33I remember one was a Froot Loops necklace, which is good.
02:36Oh, it serves two purposes.
02:38Right.
02:38You know, stylish, edible.
02:39Well, that's the good thing about it.
02:40It doesn't take up room because you just eat it.
02:42Yeah.
02:42So they're like, hey, look what I made for you.
02:43Oh, thanks.
02:44Oh.
02:45Doesn't take up any room.
02:46I love this.
02:46Future children, just give me food, anything that's edible, and then it doesn't, like, junk up the house or anything.
02:52It's perfect.
02:52The list winds up with perfume, jewelry, clothes, and a massage.
02:55Nothing shocking there.
02:57But my thing is here, too, and this is what I wonder.
02:59And mom's text us.
03:00You don't have to give us your name.
03:02You can call us if you want.
03:03But listen, if you could, okay, what if Mother's Day was a day that you were not with your kids?
03:10Like, what if it truly was a day off from your kids?
03:13Mm-hmm.
03:13Is that okay?
03:16I think that's what every mother wants.
03:18See, I do, too, and I don't think anybody wants to say it.
03:21I think every mom really wants their husband to get a babysitter and to go out and do adult stuff.
03:26Yes.
03:26I believe that's what they want because it's not kids' Mother's Day.
03:31It's not mother-kids' Day.
03:32It's Mother's Day.
03:34Right.
03:34Right?
03:35And I think that just like with Valentine's Day and stuff, you should be appreciating your mom, you know, throughout the year.
03:41Sure.
03:41So make her macaroni necklaces other days or Froot Loops.
03:45Right.
03:45And then on that particular day, just leave her alone and let her live her life.
03:49800-992-1099 is, honestly, moms, be for real.
03:53Wouldn't you like to wake up and your husband, your boyfriend, your partner, whatever, is like, hey, you're not going to believe this.
03:59The kids have an announcement.
04:00The kids are like, mommy, we saved all of our money and we got you a babysitter today for eight hours.
04:05And you and daddy or Steve or whoever the guy is going out.
04:11She may not even want you there.
04:12Let her have her own day.
04:13We're paying for your Uber.
04:14You can drink.
04:15You can go to it.
04:16Now, is that really what moms want?
04:18I think that's a great gift.
04:19If you have young children, yeah, that are still in the house, absolutely.
04:23But I think the politically correct thing, though, to say is like, no, no, no, no, no.
04:25It's pancakes with the kids and then sit out in the back and look at the trees.
04:30And you know what I mean?
04:31Look at the trees.
04:31I'm just making stuff up.
04:32Record watching?
04:33You know what I'm saying?
04:33Oh, this Mother's Day is terrible.
04:35That's what I think.
04:36I think the new Mother's Day is like, you know what I mean?
04:38I think that's the new mother's day.
