Haley Joel Osment's next trip to Mammoth Lakes, CA won't be for skiing -- he's potentially facing charges for an arrest at that town's ski resort ... TMZ has learned.

00:58So as you guys can see, his helmet was on backwards and he was trying to get on the slope without his snowboard.
01:06So eventually, ski patrol stepped in.
01:09They took him down the mountain to a parking lot where they then called police.
01:13Police showed up.
01:14They arrested him for public intoxication as well as possession of a controlled substance.
01:21I'm told that's actually been sent to a lab to be tested to see exactly what that is.
01:26But we spoke to some people around Haley who said that he's kind of going through a hard time right now.
01:31He lost his home in the Altadena fire along with all his belongings.
01:35He's having trouble with insurance and all that stuff.
01:38But, yeah, this is bad.

01:41I got to say, the only thing that's a little bit surprising is usually public intoxication is when you're just incorrigible.
