00:00The best place to be on a Saturday morning, a car show, especially for me.
00:17And I brought mine out today to show you, because what I have here is the difference between the 68 to 70 Charger body style,
00:25the one you remember from Dukes of Hazzard, and the 71 to 74 body style.
00:32And I got the two of them side by side here, and I'll show you the difference.
00:36All right, let me show you the 1970 Charger. This was the last year of this body style.
00:41This is a 70 Charger RT-SE that I bought from the original owner back in 1981.
00:48This car is all-original, still has the factory paint on it, the factory interior.
00:56It's one of those rare, all-original, unrestored automobiles.
01:01It's been a pride and joy, been in the family since 1981.
01:05Now, since it was the last of the 1968 to 70 body style, what did they do after that?
01:12Let me show you.
01:13They went to this body style for 1971 to 1974.
01:22Now, this particular car is a 72, and I thought it was kind of neat, because mine was the special edition,
01:29which had a package that included the leather interior, and this 72 is a special edition.
01:35But it's very special.
01:36I have the owner here.
01:38Dennis, tell me how rare that sunroof is in this car in 1972.
01:44In 1972, that sunroof was one of $399 special editions.
01:50$399.
01:51That's all.
01:52That's all he made.
01:52Yes, because the option was about $450.
01:56Very expensive in 1972.
01:58Extremely expensive.
01:59A 440 cost less.
02:01Yeah.
02:01So you could have had a lot more motor, but they chose the sunroof.
02:05Yes, this car was built for comfort, not for speed.
02:08Now, how long have you had it?
02:09My family bought this in 1985.
02:12It was traded in by the original owner for a Grand Marquis.
02:15It was bought for the kingly sum of $799.
02:21Boy, those were the good old days, weren't they?
02:23Yes, it was.
02:23When you can get an $800 car and it runs.
02:25There you go.
02:26Well, thanks for bringing it out and showing it off today.
02:28It was great to be out here with you.
02:29Thanks, Stu.
02:29Thanks for showing it.
02:30You betcha.
02:31We have more to look at, and we're going right now to do just that.
