00:00Alright, we're at Disney, Star Wars, Galaxy's Edge, and this is a real treat because we're with Jolt, who really built this.
00:08Well, not by myself, but with a lot of other people. Nice to have me.
00:12But you're the guy.
00:13I'm sorry, nice to be here.
00:14Nice to meet you too. Tell me about it. What inspired you?
00:17Well, we really wanted to create a place for our guests, you know, regardless whether you're an avid, you know, Star Wars friend or just somebody who just comes here for the first time.
00:27A place where they can feel like they're really at the edge of the galaxy somewhere on a different planet, not on Earth.
00:33But at the same time, we wanted to make it authentic, make it feel like it's a real place, not just a movie set, right?
00:40So that was a big challenge, and we created actually a very unique landscape as a surrounding for, you know, to basically set the story within.
00:51And basically, it is a forest that was flourishing back in one day, and then a huge storm came, buried all the beautiful trees, and over the millions of years, they became petrified.
01:02Now that they're being exposed, and that's when you see all those beautiful spires that are actually helping us to create a forced perspective.
01:08So when you walk into the land, you feel like, oh my god, I can keep going and going and going instead of just feeling like, you know, you're confined in an attraction.
01:16So we really wanted to...
01:17Yeah, part of the fun in this park is just walking around looking at everything.
01:19Yeah.
01:20And that's not true of every park, right? It's more about what you could ride or what's in there.
01:24Exactly. And we really wanted to make this as rich as a deep story telling place as we possibly could.
01:31So there's all kinds of hidden, you know, little jewels and Easter eggs that people can, you know, discover as they move around.
01:38This is the one we want to go on tour with. Right? Private tour?
01:45Anytime.
01:46Well, you definitely have to come see this place. We did an amazing job.
01:51Were you proud of it in the end? Like it came out just how you wanted?
01:54I'm very, very proud of the theme as well because it took really a very special group of people to create all these theme finishes as we call them.
02:01So all the color, texture, all the rock work, you know, the character facades, the hardscape, everything is telling a story.
02:07Like, so if you look at the hardscape, you see all the little prints in there, you know, machine prints, footprints and all that.
02:14So everywhere you look, there's a story supporting, you know, the narrative to make sure that the guests really feel immersed.
02:20That is the most important thing that we want everybody who come here to feel really immersed in the land.
