The new US ambassador to Japan, George Glass, says that he is "extremely optimistic" that the two countries will reach a trade deal, following talks in Washington with Tokyo’s tarrifs envoy.

00:27the Secretary of Treasury the Secretary of Commerce are both people that I know
00:32and have spoken with and I'm in are are brilliant in their fields and they're
00:38also very creative out-of-the-box thinkers and when I saw that President Trump then
00:43decided he was going to get involved and has now named this his top priority
00:47that's why I have a lot of confidence that we'll get something done
