Ahmedabad [Gujarat], April 18 (ANI): Gujarat is leading India’s fight against tuberculosis through robust policies, advanced diagnostics, mobile health vans, and strengthened DOTS centres under the National TB Elimination Programme (NTEP). The state’s effective implementation of the Nikshay Poshan Yojana, which now offers ₹1,000 monthly nutritional support, played a key role in helping patients like Bijal Lalitbhai Prajapati recover. Under the PM’s TB-Free India Campaign, Gujarat has enlisted 10,682 Nikshay Mitras who’ve distributed over 3.49 lakh nutrition kits. With comprehensive community outreach and support, Gujarat is not just progressing toward TB elimination—it’s setting a national benchmark.

00:38With timely, free treatment provided by Gujarat's Health Department under the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme, NTEP, she made a full recovery.
00:48One of the most impactful initiatives that supported her was the Nikshay Poshan Yojna, a central government scheme effectively implemented in Gujarat, which offered her 500 rupees per month for nutritional support during her treatment.
