00:00And for the first time, J.Y., we actually saw a 10 seed make the playoffs up from the play-in.
00:06That would be the Miami Heat, a 37-45 team, a preseason best bet for me over the win total.
00:15And you would have said, hey, they made the playoffs.
00:17All right, we should be good to go.
00:20Instead, not at all.
00:21This is a Miami team that at one point lost 10 consecutive.
00:25They were completely done and left for dead.
00:28And we'll talk about what type of chance they might have going up against Cleveland.
00:34But now, I don't know how you don't see this as a failure for Atlanta.
00:39To lose to Orlando, okay, but they were rolled by Orlando.
00:42They were non-competitive against Orlando.
00:45And they allowed themselves to get jumped on by this Miami team, J.Y., and eliminated at home.
00:52A very bad ending for what could be a very important offseason in ATL.
00:57Yeah, especially after getting rid of DeJounte Murray, you know, at the end of last season.
01:02And now, if you're getting rid of John Collins before that.
01:04Yeah.
01:05They kind of are now at a point where, is there another reset?
01:09Well, where do you go?
01:11Do you look at Quinn Snyder and say, but we talk about Doc Rivers, another guy that's tremendously overrated as a coach.
01:17Sorry to say that.
01:18Actually, I'm not.
01:20But then you look at, like, what do you do?
01:22Does Trey get moved and you officially blow this up and start over?
01:26Because obviously, Trey's going to have something in the open market.
01:30I think what I want to look at with Atlanta is, to me, I saw the emergence of a Kongro the last couple of weeks.
01:39And specifically last night.
01:40Monster game, obviously, with a Kongro.
01:4328 points, 12 rebounds.
01:46Just showed in 50 minutes, how you doing?
01:49Guy got about three minutes.
01:50And he was sensational last night.
01:53You got to start looking at guys like Clint Capella.
01:56You have to move off of Capella because a Kongro was showing that he could handle the center position.
02:02And a little bit differently offensively, Kevin, in regards to the fact that he could shoot the three a little bit.
02:07He hit two threes, I'm sorry, four threes last night.
02:09But also his ability to play a little bit different coverage in pick and roll.
02:14Yeah.
02:14Where you could kind of switch.
02:15He could hard hedge.
02:16Where you have a drop guy like Capella, which exposes someone like Trey when Trey's involved in a pick and roll defensively.
02:22The interesting thing about Atlanta is I think they individually have a lot that you can be interested in.
02:27You mentioned Onyeka.
02:28Dyson Daniels might win most improved.
02:31He is going to be all NBA defense this season.
02:34And Jalen Johnson is someone that I think Atlanta rightfully is very excited about.
02:40Did get injured.
02:40And he's a big part of the reason why they're not going to make the postseason because of how good he is for them.
02:45Risha Shea really came on in the second half of the season.
02:48Some believe he was or could have been rookie of the year.
02:51I think Steph Castle will ultimately win it.
02:53There's elements of this team to be excited about.
02:57But is it good enough?
02:58Is there enough patience for a Hawks team that, you know, at this point, what, four years or so ago, they were in a conference finals with a much different core at the time?
03:09Trey Young wears on people.
03:11I'm a Trey Young guy, but I understand it, right?
03:13I was a Sean Jackson guy.
03:15They're not similar.
03:16But, again, I would be nuts if I didn't understand why people disliked Deshaun Jackson, right?
03:20I understand why people don't love Trey Young.
03:22I think – but I do.
03:24And I just think that this is a Hawks team who patience could be their best bet.
03:30It just doesn't feel likely.
03:32For Dallas, who was eliminated by Memphis despite 40 points from Anthony Davis,
03:39it's – they're going to do something crazy this offseason, it feels like to me.
03:49Whether that is trading Anthony Davis, whether that is trading for Kevin Durant.
03:54But it feels as if Dallas, who has already, you know, done the unthinkable in trading Anthony Davis,
04:00at this point, it doesn't seem like there's any stopping it, right?
04:04If you're Nico, why stop?
04:07What is it – what is the reason to not continue down this pathway?
04:12He seemingly has the ability to do whatever he wants.
04:16I am sure he'd like to keep Anthony Davis.
04:19I wonder how much AD will want to stay in Dallas, assuming, Coach,
04:24Kyrie Irving will not be healthy when we're looking towards next season.
04:28Yeah, and I think that's where you have to think about it.
04:30It's when do you get Kyrie back?
04:31I think that becomes the most critical part with Dallas.
04:35To me, it's so funny because Kevin and I were just talking about before the show
04:40how after they lost, when Luke and Kyrie were like,
04:44T.B. may win the NBA championship next year.
04:47And then all of a sudden, they blow it up.
04:49Yeah.
04:50There's got to be a corresponding move, right?
04:55It's hard for me to say this because I think Nico Harrison just completely
04:58messed this whole thing up.
05:00I try to hold on to Anthony Davis and get Kyrie back,
05:06and then I try to pair a better scoring forward than a P.J. Washington,
05:11who obviously was terrible last night.
05:13Foul trouble big time.
05:14Big time foul trouble.
05:15Two fouls first quarter.
05:17Three fouls first half.
05:18Four fouls third quarter.
05:19Really not effective.
05:20Yeah.
05:20You've got to get a better four to go with AD.
05:23Now, is that Durant?
05:24I don't know.
05:25But then I think you've got to get rid of one of the other bigs, right?
05:29And meaning Daniel Gafford.
05:31I think you've got to give Lively more minutes and kind of play that
05:35and then try to go from there.
