Surah Ibrāhīm (Arabic: سورة إبراهيم) is the 14th chapter (surah) of the Qur’an. It has 52 verses (ayahs) and is named after Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham), who is mentioned within the surah.

Key Themes of Surah Ibrahim:

1. Gratitude vs. Ingratitude

The surah contrasts the outcomes of those who are grateful to Allah and those who reject His guidance.

2. Stories of Past Nations

It recounts the destruction of earlier nations who denied their prophets, serving as a warning.

3. Prophet Ibrahim’s Supplication

One of the highlights is a heartfelt du'a (prayer) by Prophet Ibrahim for Makkah and his descendants (Ayahs 35–41), asking Allah for safety, righteousness, and acceptance of deeds.

4. Purpose of Revelation

The Qur’an is described as a book revealed to bring people out of darkness into light (Ayah 1).

5. Scenes from the Day of Judgment

Vivid descriptions of regret and blame among the disbelievers on the Day of Judgment (Ayah 22)
