In today’s GB News Daily Reflections, we mark the day of Easter Monday and reflect on the story of Adam and Eve."We believe the story of Adam and Eve is about people messing up their punishment, is a life that now includes pain and death outside that beautiful garden. But Jesus, by his death on the cross and his rising again, conquered sin and death and has made a way for us to go back to God's heart forever."Through Jesus, we see a God who forgives us. At the end of time, Jesus makes a way for us to follow where he leads. He is the first one to be resurrected. And for all who believe in him, we too will be reunited with God."

00:04Hi, I'm Brenda, vicar of St Francis Parish Church in Teesside.
00:10I was sitting in the garden the other day and looking at the bright pink blossom on the tree,
00:16sparkling in the sunshine, the bright yellow of the daffodils, and just thinking how lovely the
00:23birdsong was. And then I was wondering how much more amazing would the Garden of Eden have been,
00:30which God created for Adam and Eve to live in. But Adam and Eve's sin caused them to be banished
00:38from that garden, and so began a life which included pain and death. We hear a curious phrase
00:46in the Bible in 1 Corinthians, that as all die in Adam, so all will be made alive in Christ,
00:54but each in its own order. Christ the firstfruits, then those who belong to Christ.
01:02For Christians, we believe the story of Adam and Eve is about people messing up. Their punishment is a
01:10life that now includes pain and death outside that beautiful garden. But Jesus, by his death on the
01:19cross and his rising again, conquered sin and death and has made a way for us to go back to God's heart
01:27forever. Through Jesus, we see a God who forgives us. At the end of time, Jesus makes a way for us to follow
01:36where he leads. He is the first one to be resurrected, and for all who believe in him, we too will be
01:45reunited with God. Amen.
