00:00This is deeply sadly news on the death of Pope Francis and it's news that will cause heartbreak
00:07amongst the Catholic community within Scotland to whom I express my deepest sympathies and
00:13to people in Scotland and around the world who valued the peacefulness, the focus on reconciliation
00:21and the spiritual leadership that Pope Francis gave to the whole world. He was a man who was
00:28always on the side of the poor, he was always on the side of those who faced injustice and
00:35he used his position of leadership of the Catholic community around the world to work for a better
00:41world. The Pope has spoken with such power on the trauma that's been experienced by the
00:47people of Ukraine and the people of Gaza. His faithfulness in keeping in contact with the
00:53people of Gaza and the church in Gaza has been such an important contribution and illustration
00:59of the living out of his faithful leadership. And his papacy has been one of profound change,
01:06but one of profound leadership to the Catholic community and to the world. And his passing
01:11will be mourned by people across the globe.
