A restaurant boss-turned TikToker is using his newfound fame and money to feed the homeless and give back to the community
Transcript
00:00I've had the burger stand at the shop for about three and a half years now.
00:04TikTok itself, my live streaming career, started about a year and a half ago.
00:08When I first started the burger stand, I didn't know it would come to this.
00:11As a business, I think it's my duty to try and care for our community.
00:15So we do as much as we can as a business, as an individual, as a live streamer,
00:20to try and help out those around us.
00:22It's such a rare thing nowadays to see a store like this cooking in public, street food.
00:27We see this all the time back in the day. You don't see it anymore.
00:30When I first came across it, I was like, wow, I can do something with this.
00:34It's fun. I'm not closed into my business. My doors are open.
00:37My burger stand is out there. I can do something with this.
00:40Did I think I'd be a live streamer, live streaming every day from a burger stand?
00:42No, that was totally news for me, totally different.
00:46But this itself was something that got me going.
00:50It gave me a lot of ideas, and that's why I chose this place specifically.
00:54We've had so many moments where we'd go to certain homeless shelters.
00:57We'd give out boxes and boxes of meals.
01:00We'd do special events for New Year's, for Christmas.
01:03We've done so many different things.
01:05But the most important thing is to look after the own community that housed you,
01:09that welcomed you in.
01:11You can't forget the people that you serve, the community that welcomed you in.
01:15That had been a lot of, of course, which you asked you for.
01:17That was really good for friends.
01:19You can't wait for future nights.
01:32Have a great day.
01:33Vqueens, the planet, come to you, soon.
01:34You can't wait and you'll join us in with just a few minutes to wait for the rest.
