06:12three finals yeah you want that but jimmy butler was the guy you needed he was the guy you needed for
06:17this team this iteration he's better than what kevin durant is defensively he's a better facilitator
06:22than what kevin durant was and at this point as a shooter maybe not the shooter he is but yeah like
06:28picking and choosing his spots and be able to slow things down he's what you needed with this team
06:32and as a leader again i know we all kind of made fun of it at the time he's been a great leader for
06:37this team great leader on the court i also thought that he adjusted really well in this in this rocket
06:42game because the last time they played the rockets uh i'm looking at right here he only scored 13
06:47points and how many attempts less than 10 right how many attempts four of seven seven all right
06:52he'll be had 19 times five rebounds three assists but in that game he just looked a tired and be
06:59very unathletic compared to those guys in that game yeah in this one with a couple of days rest

09:23for the rockets if they have any hope in this year because they're not winning two in golden state
09:28how much time by fans by the station by the media with the hand wringing over seating for the
09:37warriors right and like i get it i wasn't one of them but i hear you i felt i know rest i think was
09:42the most important like for me like the part of avoiding the plan was the rest right and there's a
09:48difference between the friday night game and the plan which memphis looked like they had no chance
09:52they were had the warriors played friday night i think that they would have looked closer to what
09:57memphis looked like than whatever they look like against i think they would have gotten blown out
10:00as well might not have been by 50 but maybe like by 20 they wouldn't look good no and and that team
10:05needed rest that being said i 100 subscribe to the we just look different in the playoffs i've always
10:12felt that way but getting there was always the difficult part right right but we did all this
10:16hand wringing on seating seating doesn't if you win game one on the road or even game two on the road
10:22you have now seized back home control uh and home court advantage and so the warriors right now have
10:28all of the momentum and they're going to have to face a team that's going to be desperately clean for
10:33their season absolutely and they're going to come out fighting but that being said i love their energy
10:37because early on in this game they got punched in the mouth early they did and they bounced back
10:41had a sick dunk i know i think we all forgot about that's right i forgot about draymond it's like oh my
10:46how about the tari east and block that was sick after he turned it over that was a sweet block that
10:51was again they have they show the signs and flashes like wow this team could be something what they
10:56just can't shoot the ball man well that's where steven adams like steven adams is going to continue

11:23after going up 1-0 good morning hi guys thank you uh for taking the call and let me just start by um
11:31complimenting your colleagues i uh i i listened to the game on the radio i was driving and i just
11:41really thought it's it's tom and tim right yep yep tom tolbert tim roy right 95 7 the game
11:46they were out they were outstanding tolbert especially i mean tolbert's just so solid
11:53uh it was really a delight to listen to the game on the radio as opposed to watching it on tv
11:59um we there's a lot to unpack let me react to something one of you guys said about kevin durant
12:06uh you know been there done that i don't think there was any disappointment among the fan base
12:11when we didn't get durant and while i did share a lot of people's skepticism about jimmy butler
12:18primarily because of all of the bad press that was coming out of miami it's turned out he's been a
12:24great teammate great great teammate yeah unbelievable obviously is vibing with everybody
12:32especially draymond that's clear from what you know what what transpires on the court and he's just
12:39an amazing addition he's such a baller guy's just such a baller um look i great game very exciting lots
12:48of back and forth um i guess you know my biggest concern i look what i took away from the game
12:53was that they hung tough and they were able to keep the momentum you know keep the thing going
13:00and you know granted we got three older players against a relatively young team and my worry going
13:08forward is that they're able to you know keep that momentum going you know fitness level the endurance
13:16you know when you cross into your 30s you miss you know you start slowing down you know you lose a step
13:22and uh i guess my biggest concern is if we come out of this you know series with a with a w and go on
13:29to round two can they keep it going so here's what i was saying they keep here's what i would say to you
13:35they played nine games in 15 days okay that was into the plan okay so nine and 15 okay starting today
13:43all right as in yesterday excuse me starting yesterday that's one game one day they won't play
13:48for another two days after that okay so they don't play again till wednesday there's no more back to
13:54back monday tuesday that's two full days off then you have thursday friday two more full days off until
14:01saturday's game three they will have played three games in an eight day span or whatever it is
14:08as opposed to nine and 15 nine in 15 which is what they had coming into this so right now the
14:15schedule is in their favor now it's up to them to take advantage of the days off and to continue
14:21to rest rehab whatever it is come out and execute in these games there's no doubt about it my other
14:26big takeaway which obviously his point about the big three everybody knows that without the big three
14:31they're in trouble right we know but the other guys are gonna have to step up and that's why i thought
14:35moses moody's two big buckets late in this game podjemski making big plays late in this game those
14:39were critical for this team if they want to go anywhere moses moody is going to have to hit shots
14:45to stay on the floor because we know where kerr is going to lean he's going to lean gp2 right and gp2
14:51god bless him during the bulk of the game he's going to attack he's going to shoot but late in games
14:56he's not a guy i want shooting corner threes he's just not i trust moody's shot even though the shot
15:00hasn't been better pods the activity level that's a carryover i know every game he plays in that
15:06that activity level his activity on the glass you know deflections diving just being a uh a pest that
15:13is there but i want him being assertive offensively taking the middies taking the open threes he's got
15:19to find his shot from beyond the arc and that's why the three early threes in the first half were
15:24critical for him having confidence going into the fourth quarter absolutely eight eight nine five
15:29seven nine five seven zero what gave you the most confidence coming out of that one yesterday dove
15:33nation we're talking about it all show long and you know what gives me confidence it might be the
15:38simplest answer i mean we got stephan curry and they don't here's step after the game talking about
15:44his teammate jimmy butler our system is the same but we do have you know basically like you know
15:51pay manning at the line you have you know your audibles where you can go to the jimmy playbook
15:56if you will and like i said get him the ball at all three spots whether it's pick and roll as at the
16:01elbow or on the block so you know we're still we're honestly we're still learning you know each other and
16:07where you know those sweet spots are just depending on how teams guard us but that is a great safety net
16:12to have if they're going to pressure me full court or you try to take away the off ball stuff that you
16:16have somebody that can uh create shots on his own steph yelling out omaha the hallmark of this team
16:23is iq yeah right like so if you look at all the guys that can play on this team or not i think you
16:30know basketball feel iq for the read and react for what they want to do offensively but also
16:34defensively you know they were in a zone yesterday i thought they did a great job shading off of non-shooters
16:40doubling shangun at opportunistic times when he put the ball on the floor
16:45now obviously boxing out is going to be it's going to be big but the guards i thought were
16:49they were active they were trying to rebound it wasn't for a lack of effort just like
16:54see that's a load he's a straight up load but their iq is the most important part and that's
16:59that's really what makes or breaks guys in the system well there's there's levels to this stuff
17:04like i'll do respect to fred van vliet and steven adams as and dylan brooks as the veterans on that
17:09they're fringe role players they're not the veterans that a draymond green a jimmy butler a stephen
17:14they're just not they're not the same level players and you know what that's that's literally
17:18what it is shangun's a very good player i actually really like him he's really good he has great
17:23touch he does and i thought like without him they're getting cooked he is their only weapon
17:27on offense right now consistently that being said it's not enough it's just not and coming out of
17:33that game yeah i'm feeling a little bit greedy this morning joe we'll get to game two because we
17:37have a couple days between now and then but i'm getting greedy i want to step on their throat
17:42i want to give them zero hope and i would go all out to win game two knowing i have two home games
17:48totally and i just want i want it over you know why because i have a i have a again you're looking
17:53ahead here and i'm not i'm not trying to look too far ahead i get game two i'm up 2-0 i can get greedy
17:58maybe it goes five maybe and then i'm looking at that other series with minnesota and la yeah how
18:04about you guys now all of a sudden they're the teams that take a pound of flesh out of each other
18:08we're talking about the rock is taking a pound of flesh out of the warriors i'm waking up this
18:11morning saying man maybe maybe just maybe we can get a lot of rest again there's so much between
18:16now and then we're not gonna get too far ahead of ourselves but that's how i'm feeling if i'm
18:21waking up as a warriors fan this morning how can i not be full of confidence like how do you come
18:25away from that game not feeling like yeah we're winning this series like that's how i would i would
18:30answer like barring something major happening knock on wood injury wise like i just don't see how
18:36the rockets can score four times in this series and win four games oh hell can they even do it
18:43three times and push it to a seven game series i don't know the hardest part of the season i i'm
18:48telling you the nine games in 15 days felt like the hardest part of getting in at least for right now
18:53getting in was a more difficult task for them than than i think this series is going to play out
19:00they've got to handle business they've got to work on a lot of stuff i think there's plenty to clean up
19:04but i'm really encouraged and i think they have an awesome opportunity to come back home 2-0 uh real

20:00well they're not going through it because they have been free for a year but i don't want to continue to
20:03change out the exact date but i can still sign up for that reason and they don't think that
20:06that would be a great thing that i believe you know is not going through and i want to
20:09do i don't think that so i don't know that i want to turn on with these guys but i think i want to
20:11because no one of these guys have decided to be like you are doing what they want to hear
