00:09What are your thoughts on that?
00:10I just want to see these tariffs.
00:11Look, I've been critical of these tariffs,
00:14both because they're going to drive up prices,
00:16and we're already seeing that,
00:18and because it's going to have companies and individuals,
00:22families, keep their capital in their pockets
00:25because they're worried about the future.
00:27And with the uncertainty and the chaos that these tariffs bring,
00:31it's going to mean more capital staying on the sidelines.
00:34That's what's happening with Maccuff based on the letter
00:36that they sent to me, a worry about economic uncertainty,
00:40a worry about these tariffs in particular,
00:43and that's forcing them to keep their capital on the sidelines
00:46and making it harder for them to do the important work
00:48they need to do to build these world-class trucks.
00:52I think it's really important to note
00:53that the president has stated his goal with these tariffs.
00:57is to bring jobs back to America.
01:00By the way, a goal I support 1,000%.
01:03But Maccuff's jobs already are in America.
01:06They're in the Lehigh Valley.
01:07They've been building these wonderful trucks here in America
01:10for years and years and years.
01:12They're doing everything right,
01:14and they're still being harmed by these tariffs.
01:17It's really unfortunate.
01:19We're working through the Department of Labor and Industry
01:21with those workers who are going to be laid off
01:24to make sure they get the supports that they need.
01:26But I hope that the president is able to rethink,
01:30readjust his tariff policy
01:31in order to bring more certainty to the marketplace
01:34and allow our companies to have the confidence
01:37they need to invest capital again.
01:39You invest capital, you grow the economy,
01:41you create jobs, you bring down prices.
01:43That's good for Americans.
