00:00So you talked about the Capitals.
00:02I think it showed, I thought it showed some level of,
00:08I don't buy them now in the East to do anything
00:11after they played this young upstart Canadian team
00:15with seven or eight guys that have never played
00:17in a playoff game in their life.
00:18And they tied that game in the third period in DC.
00:22They had chances to win that game
00:24and they lost on an OV overtime.
00:26But I thought it spoke volumes to me
00:29that they couldn't put them away.
00:32And I'm sorry.
00:34And then you watch Dallas, they got it done.
00:37It took 17 minutes of extra time,
00:39but they got it done to even that up.
00:41And the Jets are up too.
00:43I thought exposed the caps a little bit in some capacity.
00:48The Capitals really haven't been the same team
00:52since Ovechkin's setting record.
00:55They got so caught up in that.
00:58They weren't talking about it earlier in the year
00:59and then it became the big story.
01:01And then it's sort of deflated them after.
01:06But, you know, they're not an imperfect team,
01:08the Washington Capitals.
01:09They're damn good.
01:10I think with the Canadians, Scott,
01:12yeah, they have a lot of young players.
01:14I mean, Demidoff is playing in his third game in the NHL.
01:17Lane Hudson's a rookie, the defenseman.
01:20Slavkovsky's, you know, pretty young, you know, still.
01:23I mean, yeah, their core is all under 23, 24 years old.
01:26The Canadians are going to be a really good team in a couple of years.
01:28But without being stated, they also have vets on their team, right?
01:32I mean, Cole Caulfield was a kid, but he played in the Stanley Cup Finals.
01:36Nick Suzuki's been around.
01:38He played.
01:38Let's not forget, guys, the Canadians were in the Stanley Cup Finals.
01:41It feels like they weren't, but they were not that long ago
01:44against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
01:46So, you know, it's not like they're overwhelmed.
01:48And frankly, Scott, the Canadians were the hotter team over the last month,
01:52right, than the Washington Capitals.
01:54So, you know, we can look at the overall body of work,
01:56but the Canadians have been scorching, bro, since New Year's Eve.
02:00So I think this series is going to seven games.
02:02The Canadians can play with the Capitals.
02:04And if anything, Scott, you saw, the Canadians, like,
02:08they had a hard time in the first period of this game a bit.
02:11Yeah.
02:11Like, they were getting smashed.
02:13Like, they were getting beat up in the corners.
02:14They were getting, like, nailed.
02:16Like, Washington set the tone that we're going to wear you out.
02:19We're going to beat you up a bit.
02:21And the Canadians were just sort of a step slow, Scott, right?
02:24They had a hard time just sort of, like, they weren't in playoff mode.
02:28You know what I mean?
02:28You know, when a team, it's game one of the playoffs, like,
02:30hey, guys, this is a little faster now.
02:32Like, we've got to, it's more intense.
02:34Like, we've got to raise it up a notch.
02:36And the first 20 minutes was okay, but not great for the Habs.
02:40Capitals scored that late goal, man.
02:42It was always a killer.
02:42We're like a minute left in a freaking period.
02:44To make it 1-0.
02:46But quite frankly, after that, guys,
02:48Canadians were the better team in the second and third period, Scott.
02:50They were taking it to the Capitals.
02:52And Montreal, another building that is just, it's a special place.
02:57Like, you know, I'm not saying, like, if the Canadians lose,
03:00if they go down 0-2, they're going to be in big trouble.
03:02I don't think they're going to be able to pull off the upset in the series.
03:04If they are able to win game two, you send this thing back to Montreal,
03:08it'll get real, Scott.
03:09Because the Canadians will win at least one game in Montreal for sure.
03:12So we could be tied at two after four here,
03:15and that's kind of how I think this is going to play out.
03:16Let's do it.
