00:00Last night we did a thing, um, we felt it was important to do a thing here.
00:09There might be some kind of post-mortem about it, but we wanted to do something here with dignity that was supported by the Kennedy Center because the people that work here are amazing and are on the front lawns of such a show.
00:20So, it's hard to say I'm doing it, anyway, but I'd like to make a statement again because I think it's important that everybody in this room understand where our band feels about what's happening.
00:38Here we go, part two.
00:41My friend Michael wrote the songs for a musical called Finn.
00:45In the before times, they were booked to play here, but as all of you know, things happened.
00:50And the show is no longer being presented on tour by the Kennedy Center.
00:54As the new administration has made abundantly clear, Finn's themes of inclusivity, love, and self-acceptance are going to be welcomed in this building while they are in control.
01:04So, tonight our band is here to say, our stage is your stage.
01:09We are your allies.
01:11We stand with the LGBT community.
01:14And we want you to see you guys.
01:15Please welcome to the pastor, fan, and composer, record to him, to the Brownian Youth.
01:20And we welcome you.

02:15Thank you, guys.
02:19We've asked Michael to say a few words as well.
02:23So, Finn is the story of a young shark named Finn, who is growing up in a shark pack that
02:31is very aggressive and very stoic and very gray.
02:35And he one day meets a fish named Cecil, who introduces him to the very colorful, very
02:42vibrant, very expressive world of fish, and Finn begins to realize that deep inside he
02:48may actually be a fish.
02:51So, it is a show about growing up, feeling like you don't fit in.
02:56It's a show about finding your chosen family.
02:58And most importantly, it's a show about being yourself and standing up for what we believe
03:09in, even if it's really scary to do.
03:16The message of the site is more important now than whenever we begin to write the show.
03:21And so, we are here tonight to celebrate our message of inclusivity and acceptance with
03:26our friends, Guster.
03:29All of you, our new friends.
03:33We're going to do it at the wonderful place to commission the show, the Kennedy Center.
03:37So, thank you.
03:51Enter a scene that defies description.
03:59You see, open your mind and take it all inside.
04:02One click at a time
04:08We move through fictions
04:12And send our sisters to the sacrifice
04:19With cruel conviction
04:22Sinister systems keep us satisfied
04:30These are hard times
04:34I'm breathing in the oxygen
04:38I'm holding in through hard times
04:45I'm breathing out in the ultrasound
04:49Things come around in hard times
04:5510,000 miles of the new prescriptions
05:03So we open our mouths and take them all inside
05:08One pill at a time
05:13The purest fictions
05:17And send our sisters to the sacrifice
05:24With cruel conviction
05:27Sinister systems keep us satisfied
05:34These are hard times
05:38I'm breathing in the oxygen
05:42I'm holding in through hard times
05:48I'm breathing out in the ultrasound
05:53Things come around in hard times
05:59Ooh
06:05Ooh
06:14Ooh
06:19We send our sisters, we send our sisters, we send our sisters, we send our sisters to the new within time.
06:32We send our sisters to the sacrifice, and then the audience goes by.
06:49Through hard times, I'm breathing out, the ultrasound keeps going around.
06:59In hard times, I'm breathing the oxygen, I'm holding it, through hard times.
07:19Thank you very much.
