00:19and everybody says you know when you go from one to two or two to three it's like it's huge changes
00:24yeah uh so she said that her son is still um adjusting to the baby and I said yeah we are

01:17you were you were talking to her on the phone about just like the the maternity laws here hate it's
01:22just like I hate it you know I if you if you work if you work in a place that is hires has under 15
01:29people they don't even have to give you the three months disability they don't have to give you that
01:35three months please I had um eight weeks and uh was it paid or unpaid 60 percent you know what
01:43better than some places do I'll tell you yeah I'll tell you um before taxes and um
01:50Caroline I got your back it's just it's so it's just very very hard it's difficult and I hate when
01:59they say you have to um go on short-term disability because you are superhuman you just had a baby
02:06that is you know you just created a human and gave birth and and then came back to work so quickly
02:13I just I wish it was different and and I'm not just saying here like I'm not just saying at Beasley
02:18I'm saying everywhere in the United States it's just terrible Canada is amazing uh guy I graduated
02:24with his wife is Canadian and they lived in the states but they moved back to Canada when she got
02:30pregnant because you get one you get both parents get six months off you can take it however you want
02:36you both do it together or mom goes first six dad goes first year you got oh you actually get to be
02:42there with your child I know this is amazing I'm reading uh this off of the International Labor
02:46Organization uh-huh and labor is spelled with a u tell you no it's serious
02:51that's how you know they're fancy 119 countries meet the ILO standard of 12 weeks with 62 countries
03:01providing 14 weeks or more of paid maternity leave 31 countries mandate maternity leave of less than 12
03:10weeks we mandate zero isn't that crazy it's so disgusting it's so bad and it's really hard I know
03:17it's really hard being a parent whether you're dad or mom but it's I think it's a little bit harder
03:22to be a mom uh I'm not biased or anything but uh I just because you get shamed if you're a working mom
03:28and you work all the time because then you're not taking care of your kids but then you're you're
03:32shamed if you stay at home and take care of your kids and not providing it's like where's the middle
03:37ground it's a tough spot it's so hard it's a tough spot and for whatever reason here we just don't
03:42want to make it any easier it's like no you know what test yourself off pull yourself up from your

04:09along my mom ended up just kind of going to work like two or three days a week just to kind of do
04:14it yeah and then once he went to school then she went to work you used to be able to pull that off
