00:21start for the Yanks. New Jersey native Anthony Volpe has been named the starting shortstop.
00:26That will be fun to watch Volpe all this year. He is considered to be the Yankees' number one
00:32prospect. And, of course, Aaron Judge back after slugging an American League record 62 home runs
00:39last year. He also had a heck of a spring. He hit around 350. So the Yankees are looking really,
00:45really good. A lot of excitement with the young Yankees, though. I will say that.
00:50Do you think the Yankees are better, substantially better than last season?
00:53It's all dependent on the youth. If the youth, I hate to say it, I hate to put it.

01:04Asking the kids to get you to win the World Series is a tough one.
01:07It's a lot of pressure on Volpe, the two Oswaldos. And I still think, you know, maybe
01:13in July or something, could we please bring up that Jason Dominguez who was destroying the
01:19ball in spring training? Now, that guy's only 20, so he's going to start the year in the
01:23minors. But the two Oswaldos and Volpe are the guys who have to step up big. If they can
01:29and a healthy DJ LeMahieu, I think the Yankees are going to be in good shape. I really do.

01:37You know what? You're right about that. They do have better pitching.
01:39And I think that the hitting the lineup will be good as long as... Listen, we know the
01:45problems. Aaron Hicks was a major problem and he's on the team this year. And Donaldson
01:50had an atrocious year last year. He's on the team this year too. Now, there's some optimism
01:56with Donaldson. He was hitting well in spring. So I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.
02:00Never liked the trade though. And he needs to step up too. The Mets, now they go against
02:05the Marlins in Miami at 4 o'clock. Max Scherzer on the mound for the Mets. They certainly have
02:13high hopes for themselves. Let's not forget the Mets made the playoffs last year.
02:17Talk about a better pitching staff. And they signed Justin Verlander. So the Mets certainly
02:22have hopes to get to a World Series. And team that went to a World Series last year, the
02:27Phillies, they begin their year at 4 o'clock as they play the Rangers in Texas. Of course,
02:33Phil's had that great season last year where they won the National League pennant. They
02:37did lose to the Astros in the World Series. But still, baseball
02:40is back. We had three, all three of our Major League Baseball
02:45local teams made the playoffs last year. And I think this year
02:49they got the same chance. Well, let's see what we can do. I'm gonna
02:53root for them. Let's go. And there's no delay in the season. There's been no
02:56work stoppage and people not showing up for various money reasons.
03:00And if you want quicker baseball, they said that the rule changes dropped the games by
03:0626 minutes, almost a half an hour. Get to bed earlier. The games seem to be averaging
03:12around two and a half hours as opposed to three hours per game. Right. That's pretty awesome.
03:19Yeah, that's good. You know, that's like a basketball game. I haven't seen the pitch clock
03:26in action yet. Right. I'm interested to see how it is today. Exactly. A lot of people are gonna be
03:31tuning into baseball for the first time today. You're gonna get the pitch clock. You can only
03:35throw over to first base to pick off a runner
03:38twice. You can do it a third time, but you have to pick him off. If you don't, he gets second
03:45automatically. So you have less throwovers the first. You have the pitch clock. You also have
03:49pitchers allowing to call their own pitches with electronical device. All of these moves have
03:55reduced the game by half an hour thus far. Basketball. The Knicks beat the Heat last night.
04:01101 to 92. The Knicks' Quinton Grimes had 23 points, eight rebounds in the win as they improved to
04:0644 and 33. One concern. Knicks all-star Julius Randle had to leave the game early due to an ankle
04:13injury. They cannot afford to lose him for an extended period of time. They will do tests on
04:19Julius Randle's ankle today. The Nets defeated the Rockets 123 to 114.
04:25Brooklyn's Cam Johnson, 31 points in the win. 76ers took down the Mavericks 116 to 108.
04:30Phillies' Joel Embiid had 25 points and nine rebounds. Hockey, the Devils, Rangers, and Flyers
04:36were all inactive. Tonight, the Devils faced the Rangers at the Prudential Center. That's a big game, man.
04:41Huge game. And the Flyers play the Senators in Ottawa. Flyers have won four in a row.
04:46Finally, football. Jets owner Woody Johnson admits he is, quote, anxious to sign Aaron Rodgers.
04:53Yeah, so get in line, pal. Speaking to reporters, Woody said he is not a patient man. He wants the
05:00deal done. He says he is anxious. He's optimistic, but anxious. Let's go. Let's give, you know what,
05:08give them what they need and get this figured out. But what if they're asking for four number
05:13one draft picks? Some of the rumors are that the Packers are asking for three or four draft
05:19picks. I can't live by rumors, but just get it done. Figure a way out of it. Get it done.
05:25Is that too steep a price? Yes, that's too steep a price. That's why I'm saying get it
05:30done. Figure a way out of it. Well, that's the thing. That's your job, Woody. Go get it
05:34done. The Jets want this. It's the Packers that are playing hardball right now. And I think
05:38the Jets should play hardball back and say, we're going to go after Lamar Jackson. I'll
05:42take Lamar Jackson. I'll take Ryan Fitzpatrick. I'll take Sam fricking Darnold at this point.
05:49Any one of them would be better than what we got now. At least if you send out feelers
05:53to Lamar, you are putting the screws a little bit to the Packers and saying, get the deal
05:58done. Otherwise we'll sign Lamar. Seems nonsensical to not keep your mind open. So we'll see what
06:04happens, but I don't like how this is now going a couple of weeks, two or three weeks
06:08since Roger says he intends to play for the Jets and it still hasn't been official. Can
06:13we keep my eye on this? Cause I don't, I'm not sure right now that this, I have fulfilling
06:18me jinx in this day. I think this, there's a chance this is going to fall through. You
06:23just want to dump on us Jets fans. No, I think the Jets should be going after Lamar Jackson.
