00:00Okay, very important. Oh, hi. Welcome to the MMR Kitchen. I am Master Chef Pierre Robert and
00:05Sous Chef. Chef Louis. Chef Louis. French Porsche. French Porsche. First of all, what's that? This is
00:11my motorhead apron. Gotta have a motorhead apron, right? Right. And what's that? And look at this
00:16glove from the MMRBQ 2. This thing's like 17 years old. I've used the hell out of it, as you
00:21can tell. And it doesn't work. Wow. What you got there? Well, I've got a pot because we're going
00:27to cook. It's National Cookbook Month, October. And that reminded me that in the mid-80s, around
00:3388, MMR put a cookbook out with all kinds of famous rock stars from Paul McCartney, Graham
00:39Nash. You got Steve Perry of Journey. You got Tom Petty. You've got Clarence Clemens. Over
00:44on the other side, you've got recipes from David Lee Roth and Peter Frampton, even David Bowie.
00:50So in our master kitchens, and that's the giant cover there, the giant cover of the cookbook,
00:55we're going to go take a closer look at that in just a moment. But first, it's important
01:00to follow the recipe. First, what do you need, Brent? Water. Water. Fill your pot with water.
01:06Start with that. And swirl. Always swirl the water. Oh, dear. Swirl the water. And then
01:13add soap. Because you can't cook without soap. Swirl that up. Hammer? Oh, hammer. Yeah. Throw
01:19that in. Oh, I cooked something, by the way. So let's see what I've cooked in the master
01:23kitchen. Look at this masterpiece. Look at that. Wait a minute. Oh, man, Peter. I think
01:27I overcooked it a bit. That's a little solid. Uh-uh. Do I have anything else in the master
01:36kitchen, Chef? Open it up. He's such a good assistant. Oh, boy, Pierre. What's this?
01:40Oh, boy, Pierre. Ooh. Look at that freezer bar. Oh, my God. Just break it up. What's, is there
01:45an expiration date? Hold on. October of 2018. Pierre, you can't eat there. Oh, it's fine.
01:51Just put it. You've got to follow the directions. All right. Now we're going to take you down
01:56and show you up close what the cookbook is like. Just pound away and everything will
02:01be fine. Oh, welcome back. Brent and I are going to show you what the MMR cookbook had
02:07to offer back in the mid-'80s because it's National Cookbook Month. The monkey was our theme
02:12for many things. And look, he's stirring, which is important. You've got to start with
02:16stirring. We asked all kinds of people for their recipes. And we have breakfast, lunches
02:22and dinners. So breakfast can be tough, especially if you're a rock star. Julian Lennon, let's
02:28see where we'll go. Let's open the first one. All the DJs participated. Michael Tearsen
02:33and Tearsen's Waffles. I wouldn't go near them if I were you. What else we got? We got John
02:39Waters and my favorite heart attack breakfast. One of my favorites. Bacon, throw it in a
02:44pan, high heat, and wear just underpants. I'm down with that. That's what I have underneath
02:48my apron right now. All right. And who's this? Mike Rutherford from Genesis. You know I love
02:53my breakfast. Three scrambled eggs, cream from the top. I don't know about that. All right.
02:57We'll move on. All right. Oh, my God. Tofu burgers. That handsome devil. I haven't changed
03:04a bit over the last 45 years. Tofu burgers. You can't go without that. All right. What else
03:09did the MMR cookbook have to offer? Stevie Ray Vaughan. Salsa Ray Vaughan. Very nice.
03:16Let's keep turning the page into. Oh, Steve Perry from Journey. His Portuguese chicken. Very
03:22nice. Nice. Delicious. All right. All right. All right. What else we got? Onwards. We've
03:26got Mickey Tomlin. We got Chuck. Oh, we've got Charles Barkley. Oh, man. His lasagna.
03:33That's not. I bet you that's not terrible. We have our program director, Ted Utz, at the
03:38time. The late, great Bubba John and Steak Diane. The DJs, as I mentioned. Oh, look.
03:44We each gave a recipe. Clarence Clemens. We have one from the big man. So cool that we
03:49have. I've forgotten half the recipes that we had in here. Local artist Bob Beru of Beru
03:54Review. The late, great Robert Hazard. Oh, and Graham Nash of Crosby, Stills & Nash. Great
03:59recipe. Take some hope. Take some compassion. Take a half hour of thought. Take some food to
04:04the food bank. Fill abundance. Camp out for hunger. It's a great recipe for life. Thank
04:08you, Graham. And who else? David Bowie. David Bowie gave us a recipe. What is that thing?
04:13Puta Casca? I don't know. Yeah. Something like that. Fake it. We've got Lou Reed and David
04:19Lee Roth. God knows what sauce he created. Oh, there it is. My favorite. My favorite recipe.
04:24Take some gator. Put it in a pot with boiling water. And what do you got? Boiling gator
04:29water, baby. Put the alligator in it. But let the alligator live. Peace and love for
04:33all. The Lynn Kratz recipe for graham cracker pie. Lynn was our overnight DJ. A lovely lady
04:39to this day. Thompson twins. That dates it. We got Peter Frampton. Frampton's tarts. We're
04:44into dessert now. Oh, and the late, great Walt Jost, one of our wonderful engineers, and
04:49his potato salad. So you see, it makes for a great recipe. Don't you think, Brent? Did you
04:54ever have pocket pizza, Pierre? No, never. You put pizza in your pocket, you pull it out,
04:58little tinfoil. Dude. You got some pizza in your pocket. That looks revolting. You know,
05:05the thing is, you've got to follow recipes. So add a lot of cream and, oh, stir it? Yeah.
05:10Well, I like, you know, if you don't have anything to stir with, always remember a pen
05:15comes in handy. Don't have a pen? Use a, one of these things, a highlighter. Damn good.
05:21Wait. You also want to add, for spice, make it a bloody coffee. A little of that. A little
05:28red hot sauce. There you go. Oh, boy. A little hot pot pepper sauce. Just a few gallons. Add
05:37that. Then, stir with my brand new stirring device. Oh. Oh. And you have a perfect combination
05:44for a very happy coffee. So remember, October is national. Oh. Cookbook month. So tasty,
05:54too. Want some, Brent? Oh, yeah. I love coffee. He hates coffee. Whoa. All right. We've got
06:00to go now. Peace and love and happy National Cookbook Day. Oh, from us here at MMR. You all
06:05right? Get him some water. Good night.
