Pope Francis' body moved to St Peter's Basilica to lie in state

Tens of thousands of people are expected to visit the late pontiff's coffin over the coming days.

00:00Crowds of faithful gathered outside St. Peter's Basilica
00:05as the body of Pope Francis was transferred there from the Vatican Hotel where he lived.
00:11Pallbearers carried this simple wooden coffin on their shoulders onto St. Peter's Square and into the Basilica,
00:18cardinals, bishops and the Swiss Guards processing slowly behind.
00:22Once inside the Basilica, the casket was not put on an elevated bier
00:27but simply on an inclined ramp facing the pews, according to the late Pope's wishes.
00:33Mourners are able to enter the Basilica until Friday to pay their respects,
00:37after which the Pope's casket will be closed and sealed.
00:41The funeral has been set for Saturday morning and will be attended by world leaders
00:45including U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
