A woman received a total £29,900 ($40k) in scholarship funding from Taco Bell after working there part time during high school.

Crimsyn Price, 22, applied for a Taco Bell funded scholarship for workers, and was awarded £7,470 ($10k) for the first year of her undergraduate degree.

Crimsyn applied for and received the initial scholarship in April 2020 whilst working at the Mexican food chain Taco Bell during her junior year of high school.

She then applied for the scholarship's renewal scheme each year whilst studying Biology and Health Sciences at East Tennessee State University (ETSU).

Crimsyn successfully earned herself a further £7,470 ($10k) for each academic year of her undegrad, helping her to achieve her dream of becoming a doctor.

00:00I am graduating college in less than a month completely debt-free because of Taco Bell.
00:08I worked at Taco Bell in high school and I honestly just did it as like a quick job to save money and like help my parents with bills and stuff.
00:17And I was there for about six months and my boss was like, you should apply to our scholarship program.
00:22I was like, what do you mean your scholarship program?
00:24Um, so apparently, you know how like at the end of Taco Bell, like when you're ordering, they're like, would you like to round up for students' education?
00:31Yada, yada, yada.
00:32So apparently all the change that you donate, even if it's like two cents, whatever, they all compile into a pool each year.
00:38And then, um, if you work there, you can apply to get a scholarship.
00:43So I was like, okay, sure.
00:45And I was expecting this like long, extensive process on how to apply.
00:49But literally it was like, what's your name, your GPA, like general info.
00:53And then all you had to do was create a two minute video talking about what you would do with the money.
00:58And so I was like, okay, I'll try it.
01:00Like, you know, worst comes to worst.
01:02I'm going to be working here another two years so I can apply like, you know, two more times.
01:06And so I applied and got a $10,000 scholarship right off the rip.
01:13$10,000.
01:14I was like, and what they don't tell you is like, it's $10,000 to do whatever you need.
01:20So I, um, applied to school, um, two years later and I got scholarship education, or like
01:28I got financial aid from the school.
01:30I got, um, scholarships from the school.
01:33And what you can do is apply your Taco Bell scholarship last.
01:37And so I split it between the two semesters, apply it last.
01:40And whatever excess money I had off, the school just gave me a check back.
01:44So not only was school being completely free, but I was also getting money back in my bank
01:49account to live off of, and that's helped me pay for books and everything.
01:52Well, I thought, you know, okay, $10,000.
01:56Fantastic.
01:56That is incredible.
01:57They emailed me my sophomore year or the end of my freshman year.
02:01And we're like, Hey, do you want to apply for a renewal?
02:04I was like, yes, please.
02:08And so I applied.
02:09Guess what?
02:10Two minute video.
02:11What have you done with the money?
02:12What do you plan on doing with money?
02:13I sat down there.
02:15I had told, you know, I'm in the honors college.
02:18I've worked this hard, maintained this GPA.
02:21I, um, am wanting to go to medical school, yada, yada, yada, bam, another $10,000.
02:27Hold on a minute.
02:29So in total from working at Taco Bell for two years, you only had to work six months, but
02:35I had worked there two years.
02:36I received $40,000.
02:41That's not a lie.
02:42$40,000 from Taco Bell, just from you guys donating your change every time you go to order.
02:48So you better believe every time I'm in that Taco Bell drive through, I'm like, yes, I would
02:52like to round up my change because that 50 cents, that 75 cents every few weeks gave some,
02:59gave me $40,000.
03:01And I can only imagine what it's given other people.
03:03So if you're in high school and you need a job, tough through Taco Bell.
03:08It's a rough job.
03:08It can be.
03:10Um, but $40,000 college degree for free.
03:14Give it to me.
03:15So round up your change and apply for it.
