00:00Now Tottenham Hotspur's summer transfer window
00:05will be crucial if they're to build on their torrid campaign
00:08and ensure success next season
00:10With Antiposta Coglu at the helm
00:12Spurs had shown flashes of promise
00:15but how they will navigate the summer transfer window
00:18is the biggest question surrounding them
00:20The club must focus on retaining key players
00:22while strengthening their squad
00:24One of the top priorities will be keeping their standout performers
00:27ensuring they remain at the core of the team's long-term success
00:31I spoke to James Trembath of London World
00:34who highlighted that Spurs need to focus on stabilising their squad
00:37while strengthening key positions
00:39particularly in defence and attack
00:41If they can maintain their best players
00:44and add necessary reinforcements
00:46they could push higher up the table next season
00:49And just on the Spurs summer
00:53obviously you mentioned a few positions there
00:56but do you feel there's an overriding factor
00:58that there are a lack of leaders still in this Spurs group
01:02and if there is a new manager
01:03and a bit of change to come in the summer
01:05that's something they need to address in the transfer window
01:08Yeah, 100%
01:10We took Harry Kane out of the team
01:12obviously a huge leader, huge talisman
01:14club record goal scorer, club legend
01:17but we also let Hoiberg go in the same summer
01:20and he divided fans
01:23but he always did a job
01:25particularly in that first season for Boster Coggle
01:27who was a bit of a finisher
01:28he'd come on and just shore things up
01:30and we've really lacked any kind of player like that this season
01:33and any kind of on-the-field leadership really
01:36Sonny, fantastic player
01:39but is he a great leader?
01:41Obviously he's had his own struggle with his form
01:43and a little bit of his fitness this season as well
01:45So it's a gaping hole in the team
01:48There's nobody in that team
01:50who really does manage on the pitch
01:53and if we're struggling and under the cosh
01:54gets a hold of everybody and says
01:57for the next five minutes
01:58you hold your positions
02:00you don't do X, Y or Z
02:02We often look just sort of like
02:05headless chickens in terms of game management
02:07so that's a huge area of concern
02:09and a huge area we need to address
02:11because as I say
02:11we've got the nucleus
02:12and the young talent coming through
02:14but they need some experienced pros
02:16to come in alongside that
02:18to augment it
02:18to develop that young talent
02:20and as I say
02:21if we get two or three key positions
02:24in that spine of the team
02:25then I don't think the new manager
02:28should there be one
02:29is going to be too far away
02:31so you could argue Poster Coggle
02:33who's laid a bit of groundwork there
02:35but who knows what the future holds
02:37we'll soon find out
02:38And Christian Romero
02:41obviously let's just have a note
02:42on his Spurs time
02:44his future's a bit uncertain
02:46he's only 26
02:47probably near the peak of his career now
02:49where do you sort of see him
02:51his future going
02:53how important is he to Spurs
02:55in terms of this summer rebuild
02:57where there could be a new manager
02:58in charge as well
02:59I mean he's a real key player
03:00yes he's missed
03:01a number of games through injury
03:03not once
03:05but twice
03:06in terms of seasons
03:07at Spurs
03:08but he's a real leader
03:10he's a top player
03:11and you have to admit
03:13they've probably missed him
03:14at the best of times
03:14this season
03:15Yeah well I mean
03:17I think the next manager
03:17that comes in
03:18is certainly going to benefit
03:19from this season
03:20and the sort of growth
03:21and Poster Coggle
03:22has spoken about that
03:23you know the growth
03:23in Archie Gray
03:24the growth in Lukas Bergwald
03:25you know the development
03:26of some of the players
03:27it has been a perfect storm
03:29you know we've had
03:29lots of injuries
03:30we've had lots of senior players
03:31you know really really off colour
03:33but there are green shoots there
03:35you know it sounds crazy
03:36to say when we're 14th
03:37in the Premier League
03:38you know so many defeats
03:39and the season feels like
03:41it's been a bit of a disaster
03:42but then you know
03:43if you do sort of step back
03:44and look at it
03:45the nucleus is there
03:47of a really really core
03:49talented group of players
03:50you know we need
03:51augmentation with leaders
03:53we need more experience
03:54in the team
03:54as we've spoken about
03:55but certainly
03:56you know we're not
03:57a million miles off
03:58which again
03:58I know it sounds crazy to say
04:00but you know
04:00in terms of the core
04:01of the talent that's there
04:02what we really need now
04:04is you know
04:05a manager with a
04:06a bit more tactical now
04:08so I think it's fair to say
04:09perhaps we need a better system
04:10in terms of the way we play
04:12you know perhaps
04:13you know
04:13more tailored towards the players
04:15that we've got maybe
04:16we need a big summer
04:18you know
04:18we say this every
04:19every single year
04:20at the moment
04:21it feels like
04:21it's like broken record
04:22deja vu job
04:23but you know
04:24we need
04:24if a new manager is to come in
04:26should suppose
04:27you know
04:27not do the impossible
04:29and win the Europa League
04:30which as I say
04:30I still don't think
04:32that would be enough
04:32to save Bosticoglu
04:33we need
04:35you know
04:35we need that investment
04:36we need a commitment
04:38from the chairman
04:38bizarre to say
04:39I think
04:40but we need the right
04:42appointment for the next manager
