00:20dr j games yeah it goes pretty far back i couldn't hold a job that's that's the problem i i announced
00:28i announced for 13 teams scott in 11 different leagues seven different sports six now defunct
00:39leagues i mean the list just goes on and on and on uh i i had a lot of resiliency bouncing back
00:46but after 45 years uh in this crazy business um people kept telling me you got to write a book
00:54so i did and and here it is a funny thing happened on the way to the broadcast board
01:01what other way could i put it i think it's great and you had uh i mean every everything about it's
01:09funny uh on the back of the book whatever all the uh your brother slammed the book and then you you
01:15had a comment about the book when you were a newborn baby uh yes uh bob costas did the uh
01:22front of the front of the book i thought the forward i thought he uh that was great i mean
01:27literally from the jump this book grabs you by the onions and takes you on a ride in sports that is
01:36truly unequal like i mean the stories about everything uh that i read in it are so amazing
01:43uh from the you know the people that you've worked with alone just the names of the people that you have
01:51worked alongside in the booth calling games that alone is staggering well you know when i called
02:00my brother marv to tell him about the book the first thing he said to me was how did you get this number
02:06and and then when when i asked him when i told him that i was writing a book he said why don't you try
02:13reading one first so i decided to actually write a book and you know some of the stories are funny
02:20some are wacky and bizarre uh hopefully they'll be entertaining um uh right out of the gate i i talk
02:27about um getting locked in my bathroom i was doing morning yeah i was doing morning drive time radio i had
02:35to get up about 3 30 um didn't get much sleep and the i was trying to you know open the door after i
02:42showered and brushed my teeth and everything and shaved i was trying to open the door scott and the the
02:48the door knob was loose and jiggly i couldn't i couldn't open it up then i tried to unhinge the uh
02:54the hinges and they were like painted shut so i had to take a large aerosol can of hairspray
03:01and um punch a hole through through the door and then i i got it just about big enough where i could
03:09slide through but i got stuck in it and i all i have is a towel around me so i had to slide back
03:16and to make a long story short i i did get out of there but um uh you'll have to read the book to
03:22see how how it went after that and if i actually made it to the radio station on time
