00:30It is showtime
00:32Let the entertainment begin
01:00Manchester City, champions of the land
01:06You'll never stop this day
01:08I will never let you go
01:19Here come Arsenal
01:21Trotter
01:22An Arsenal lead
01:24Quite simply, too hot to happen
01:27Leandro Trotter with his second
01:32It's 4-0 to Arsenal
01:34Liverpool will have to wait
01:41Van Dijk's in there
01:42Salah's in there
01:43It's hit the post
01:44McAllister is bounced out again
01:46And it's under Oryl
01:49Now it's in
01:51He's gone right to those Liverpool fans
01:55Touched the corner flag
01:58Liverpool now are so close as to feel it
02:06Now it is just a matter of time
02:07Liverpool on the brink after their late show at Leicester
02:10Courtesy of Trent Alexander-Arnold
02:12And it could be all over by 10 o'clock this evening
02:16If Arsenal lose against Crystal Palace at the Emirates
02:20Kick-off in North London
02:22Is just under half an hour away
02:25And with their league title chances all but gone
02:27Mikel Arteta has one eye on the Gunners Champions League semifinal with PSG next week
02:32Urien Timber
02:34And Myles Lewis Skelly
02:36Among four players returning to a strong-looking Arsenal team
02:40Which also features Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice starting again
02:44But there's no Mourinho at all tonight
02:46And Makaio Saka is on the bench
02:50The Crystal Palace have a massive game of their own on the horizon
02:52They face Aston Villa in the FA Cup semifinals on Saturday
02:55And with Wembley awaiting
02:57Oliver Glasner has also made changes
02:59Four in all
02:59One in fours
03:00Jefferson Lerma in for the suspended Chris Richards at the back
03:03But Eddie Nketiah starts on his return to Arsenal
03:06Averi Eze plays
03:07But Hughes, Saar and Mateta
03:10Are all rested for Palace this evening
03:13And they've had a really good season so far
03:17Crystal Palace under Oliver Glasner
03:18They start tonight in 12th place
03:20They've got more points on the board than they've ever had at this stage of a Premier League season
03:24But still four points shy of the top half right now
03:28What a game we had last night between Manchester City and Aston Villa
03:32And Aston Villa which saw City with that late victory jump up to third place
03:39That race for the Champions League resumes at the weekend
03:42Arsenal in second right now still with that little gap over those sides behind them
03:47And with the title seemingly gone
03:49Can they tie up runners up place for the third successive season
03:53And for Liverpool
03:54Way out in front
03:5513 points advantage
03:57And for Arna Slott
03:58All eyes on the Emirates tonight
04:01If Arsenal were to lose
04:02They will become champions this evening
04:05If Arsenal don't lose
04:07It rolls on to Sunday
04:09When Liverpool will have the chance to do it for themselves
04:11In front of their own fans
04:13Against Spurs on Super Sunday
04:16Theo Walcott here with Jamie Carragher tonight
04:18So Jamie are you Team Palace tonight?
04:21Or Team Arsenal?
04:22What do you want to happen?
04:23I think I'm a bit of both
04:25I think in an ideal way
04:27The game would be a draw tonight from a Liverpool point of view
04:30I think most Liverpool supporters want to win the league title
04:33At Anfield
04:34I do know that I think the players are getting together somewhere tonight
04:37That if Crystal Palace can pull off a little bit of a shot
04:40Would it be a bit of a damp squib though if it does happen tonight
04:42From a Liverpool perspective?
04:44Yeah and people keep talking about Arsenal winning tonight
04:46But listen if Arsenal draw tonight
04:47It means Liverpool have got two options at the weekend
04:49They can draw the game and win the game
04:51And then lift the league title
04:52So I'm sitting on the fence tonight
04:55Theo what's the Arsenal position on this game?
04:57Of course the focus has to be Champions League semi-finals
05:02Yeah I mean look we know Makata is really focused and driven
05:05As a manager and as a person
05:07Known him as a player
05:08But I think it's all about good habits for the players
05:10And for himself to be involved in
05:12You don't want to go off the back of a defeat as well
05:14Of course we understand the league title is out of their grasp now
05:17Of course we get that
05:18But yeah I think they need to make sure they are in the right mindset
05:21Because if you're going to a game like tonight
05:23Half not really feeling that thing about mid-week you get injured
05:26Something will happen
05:27So look I think the sense I get from this Arsenal squad
05:30Is that they're all focused
05:31Yeah coming off the manager
05:32That's got a big concern hasn't it?
05:34Get everyone through unscathed
05:35Let's hear from Mikel Arteta now
05:36He's with David Craig
05:38Mikel we'll start obviously with your team news tonight
05:42Once again that you've made changes
05:44No Ben White
05:45No Mikel Moreno in the squad
05:47You talked about some players not being able to do 90 minutes
05:50Do they fit into that category?
05:52Well they couldn't be involved
05:54If not they would have been involved
05:55But unfortunately after the game we have some issues and they're not fit
06:00But Kaio Saka starts on the bench
06:02He took a bit of a nasty looking knock at Ipswich
06:05Were you concerned about whether you involved him tonight or not
06:09And are you happy to call on him if needed?
06:11Yeah or to start him because he was very willing to have some minutes
06:15And continue to start the games and impact the team the way he's doing since his back
06:19But again he's another one that he wasn't fit to start the game
06:23Raheem Sterling gets a rare Premier League start for you
06:25What do you hope he brings tonight to this Arsenal side?
06:28His qualities, his threat, his unpredictability, his capacity to unsettle teams
06:34And to create a lot of chaos in the defensive line
06:37You spoke as well the other day about the importance of mentality
06:41And particularly winning mentality and momentum
06:43So how important is tonight looking ahead to six days' time?
06:47Very, very important that we maintain the same standards as we did with Ipswich
06:51I think it was really, really good
06:53Especially the way we started the first 30 minutes
06:55And that's why we have to replicate or improve tonight
06:58And play with that determination, that focus
07:01And make sure that we are better than them to win the game
07:04And very finally, obviously nothing is decided yet
07:06But if the title does end up at Anfield
07:09How important is it for you that you absolutely secure second place this season
07:13With what your team's done?
07:14The only thing we can do is win our games and perform at the highest level that we can
07:18And to be able to achieve that
07:20Mikel, thank you
07:22Thank you so much
07:23So it's Palace tonight
07:24And it's PSG next week
07:25And there's a lot of chat amongst Arsenal fans about how they will line up for that game
07:29First leg at home
07:30And Thomas Partey is suspended for it
07:32And that's significant because
07:33I think there's been assumption amongst some
07:35Theo that Mikel Moreno will just slip back into midfield
07:38He's not involved tonight
07:39We saw at the weekend Trossard play in that most advanced sort of forward position
07:43Do you think that's more likely that he will play there again tonight
07:46As a continued dress rehearsal for next week?
07:49Yeah, no, I think so
07:50I think it's important to get those connections
07:52But the difference is, of course, because Sakho isn't on that side
07:55And the way that would play with Trossard
07:58Particularly in the middle
08:00Ethan Marnieri obviously being left-footed
08:02You know, he comes off the wing
08:03So it's going to be very different
08:04And look different tonight with Sterling on that side
08:06But look, Trossard is
08:07He's always probably one of the best finishers at the club as well
08:09I think you can clearly see that as well
08:11He's got hunger for goals
08:12And it's one of those where he's come off the bench and had important goals
08:14But now going into the game
08:16Knowing that you're going to start in that position as well
08:17Is really important as a player
08:18You want to get in those good habits
08:20And I think as well
08:21Look, he's a player that
08:22He's always called upon
08:23He's always turned up
08:24So look, he's a player that I'm very fond of
08:26But can adapt in any position as well
08:28And when I say adapt
08:29I feel like he can drop into midfield
08:30To allow those connections to flow with Moreno up front as well
08:34How do you see it, Jamie?
08:35In terms of where Moreno would slot in logically?
08:38I think it's really interesting
08:40Because he's more of a striker than Moreno is
08:43And that's who he's gone for
08:44And he's almost like a carbon copy of Havert, isn't he?
08:47Moreno in some ways
08:48He gives you that profile physically
08:50Set pieces at both ends
08:51You know, crashing into the box
08:52Making runs in there
08:53And he's done brilliant
08:54I mean, I looked at him a little bit
08:56At the start of the season
08:57And almost looked like they'd bought the wrong type of player
09:00And I think there might still be an argument for that
09:03In that I do think Arsenal lack a little bit of creativity
09:05But when you look at what the lad's done
09:07Since Havert has been out and Jesus has been out
09:09He's been an absolute revelation
09:10So I think in some ways you'd be a little bit reticent
09:13If it's Arteta to take him out of that role
09:15But what a daft yellow card for Partey
09:18You know, late on in the being about
09:20You know, the game's already won really
09:22So it gives him a conundrum
09:23But if Trossard's played up front
09:25You know, the two games
09:26You know, before the big game
09:28It's hard to see
09:29How we can do anything different
09:30Might be the solution, mightn't it
09:31Partey plays tonight
09:32If you're just joining us
09:33Moreno doesn't
09:34We were told by Mikel Arteta
09:36That he couldn't play tonight
09:37So we'll keep an eye on that situation as well
09:40Crystal Palace, the opponents
09:43Don't have the best record at the Emirates Stadium
09:46We'll hear from their manager next

13:38Who has been suspended for the game against PSG next week
13:43After Sunday
13:44The running continues live on Sky Sports
13:47Sponsored by Bet365
13:48Four changes for Arsenal tonight.
13:56Myles Lewis-Skelly returns to the back four, along with Urien Timber.
14:01Into midfield comes Thomas Partey, who, as you heard,
14:04suspended for the game against PSG next week.
14:08And into the forward line comes Raheem Sterling,
14:11as Bakayo Saka drops to the bench, along with four players there
14:15who've never actually started a Premier League game for Arsenal.
14:20Crystal Palace also make four changes from their goalless draw with Bournemouth.
14:24Jefferson Lerma comes into a back three with a suspended Chris Richards.
14:29Into midfield for the rest of the world's users.
14:31What users on the bench is Justin de Beny, making just his fourth Premier League start.
14:34The 21-year-old Scott, Ismail Lestat, drops to the bench.
14:39So, too, Jean-Philippe Mateta.
14:41But Eddie Nketiah does start against his former club.
14:45We can hear from his manager, Oliver Glasgow, with David Cray.
14:49Eddie Nketiah starts tonight against his former club.
14:53He's had a difficult start to life at Crystal Palace.
14:55Is this the type of game that could ignite him, though, you think?
14:59Yeah, hopefully.
15:00And I really hope it for...
15:01Especially for him, because I can see his attitude every day in training
15:06and he's working so hard.
15:07And sometimes it feels it's a little bit too much that he wants.
15:13But, yeah, he's doing well and he deserves this game here against Arsenal.
15:18He played so many years for this club.
15:20And, yeah, I'm pretty sure that he will show a very good performance.
15:23It's clearly a big weekend for Crystal Palace and a lot of focus is on that game.
15:29How much, though, have you impressed on your players about the need to focus here tonight in the Premier League?
15:34Of course, and I know it.
15:38It's not the first time that I'm in a similar situation in this situation.
15:43And it's especially when you are not used to have this rhythm,
15:46having these highlight games at the end of the season.
15:49It's something special.
15:50And then it's not so easy with all human beings.
15:52But we spoke about it before and we want to give our best
15:58because we also need to enter the semi-final with confidence
16:02and, therefore, the best confidence is having a great performance here at the Emirates
16:06against the Arsenal side, who did unbelievable well in the last weeks.
16:12And so it's a very good test for Saturday and we want to be very competitive today.
16:18And they're there because they were really impressive in that victory at Fulham.
16:22On March 29th, since then, just one win in five.
16:25They would have been disappointed to drop points at Southampton.
16:28But the calibre of the opponents since that game have been pretty strong, Jamie.
16:32So how would you sum up their form?
16:34Well, I think before that, going into that cup tie,
16:37you think from sort of the end of December to the start of March,
16:39they were performing alongside Liverpool and Arsenal in terms of the form table.
16:44We know they had a really difficult start to the season,
16:46but Crystal Palace, as they always do, no matter who the manager is,
16:49find themselves sort of always in that mid-table area.
16:52But I think it's understandable when maybe they've just slightly switched off mentally
16:57because Crystal Palace and their players,
16:59they're not used to playing in semi-finals and finals constantly.
17:03So it's a huge thing for the club, you know, the game at the weekend.
17:06And you can understand that with the team that's been picked tonight as well.
17:09I think there's three or four players that will come back into the team at the weekend
17:12because it's a huge deal for Crystal Palace.
17:14And it's a huge game tonight for Eddie Nketiah, Theo,
17:17a player that you know from the Arsenal ranks.
17:21How desperate will he be to put a performance on here?
17:24Yeah, no, me and Jamie were talking about the role that he has in this football club
17:28at this moment in time.
17:29And obviously, Mateta's done extraordinarily well.
17:31And they're completely different profile players.
17:34And it's one of those where I feel like he might have to really change his style of play
17:37and maybe move out to the wing.
17:39I wanted to play up front, knew my strengths thinking,
17:43actually, it probably doesn't work in the system that Arsene Wenger wanted to play in.
17:45So I moved out to the side.
17:47Did particularly quite well out there.
17:49But for me, he's a player that...
17:51If you say so yourself.
17:52Yeah.
17:54Always against yourself.
17:55No, but for me...
17:56It's in a race.
17:58It's one of those.
17:59He can't really overthink it tonight.
18:01I've been back at your former clubs and you really try too hard.
18:05He's just got to remember his strengths because it's one thing.
18:07It can shy away from him tonight and you don't want that.
18:09He wants to be able to perform and as well try and get into that FA Cup team.
18:13Yeah, I mean, who knows?
18:14He had a spectacular night tonight.
18:15Maybe he can force the manager's hand,
18:17if not for the centre-forward position in Mateta,
18:20but one of the other two.
18:21Eze, of course, is one-sided.
18:23And Sarr has been so impressive.
18:24Rested tonight that can Nketiah make hay at a ground that he knows so well.
18:30Palace haven't scored in two.
18:31They're going to need one tonight at Arsenal.
18:33That's what comes next.
