00:00If you're storing your herbs like this, they're going to go bad so much faster.
00:04Here's how to clean and store your herbs to give them maximum life for you to enjoy.
00:09There are two categories of herbs. There's your soft, tender herbs like dill, parsley, cilantro,
00:16and then there's your hearty herbs with harder stems like rosemary or thyme. Regardless of what
00:23type of herb it is, you're going to want to snip those rubber bands off, clean them, and dry them.
00:28I recommend a salad spinner for this. You're also going to want to trim those bottom stems.
00:33The best way to store soft herbs is to fill a glass jar with about two inches of cold water.
00:40Stick the herbs into the jar, then cover them loosely with a plastic bag and refrigerate.
00:46This will keep them for about three weeks. For hard herbs, you're going to want to wrap them
00:50in a damp paper towel and then put them in a sealed bag or container in the refrigerator.
00:54Hard herbs should last two to three weeks.
