00:00The public viewing of Pope Francis' open coffin at St. Peter's Basilica ended Friday evening.
00:10Following that, church and Vatican officials sealed the casket in a private ceremony.
00:16Earlier in the afternoon, many heads of states could be seen paying their respects to the Pope.
00:22This included French President Emmanuel Macron, Lithuanian President Gita Nasnao Seda and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
00:32As world leaders continue to pour into Rome ahead of Saturday's funeral, representatives from 146 countries and 10 international organizations are expected to attend.
00:45According to the Vatican, since Wednesday, more than 250,000 people have visited the Vatican to pay their respects to Pope Francis.
00:55With presidents, royals, heads of states arriving in Rome to attend Pope Francis' funeral, both the Italian government and the Vatican have implemented an extensive security plan.
01:17Crowds of up to 200,000 people are flocking in the Vatican and given this is a special jubilee year, the number could be even higher.
01:27In the last 24 hours, the number of people has increased significantly.

01:40More than 2,000 police officers have been deployed with anti-drone systems and a 24-hour no-fly zone across Rome that is already in place.

02:02leading to St. Peter's Square and a special and extensive red zone has been enforced in the Vatican and around the square with parking that has been prohibited but also several checkpoints that have been set up around the area to filter the crowd entering the square.
02:29Now, on Saturday, the funeral mass is taking place at 10 a.m. here in St. Peter's Square and after that, the coffin is going to be transferred to Basilica Santa Maria Maggiore for the burial.

02:50Authorities in the Vatican and Rome have put massive security measures in place for Pope Francis' funeral on Saturday.
02:59Thousands of police officers will be deployed with reinforcements arriving from several Italian regions along with security personnel from about 130 foreign delegations.
03:11According to local officials, the area around the Vatican and along the route of the funeral procession will be protected by comprehensive security presence covering threats from the air, land and sea.
03:24In addition to the security arrangements, health measures have been put in place by the Lazio region.
03:31Pope Francis, who had been recovering after being hospitalized for five weeks with double pneumonia, died on Monday at the age of 88.
03:40Pope Francis' funeral will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Peter's Square and attended by world leaders,
03:47including Argentine President Xavier Millet, U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
03:56So far, 130 official presidencies have been confirmed, including 10 royals and numerous prime ministers and ambassadors.
04:06According to current norms, the conclave to choose Francis' successor will begin between the 5th and the 10th of May.
