00:00before kickoff there will be a minute silence following the death of Pope Francis who the Celtic
00:30on the 12th.
01:00Well it's a day that Celtic fans are pretty used to by now as they come together to watch
01:19this game where they're in person at Tanerdice, around the country, around the world, Celtic
01:24fans get everywhere, Brendan Rodgers team on the brink of yet another title and that would
01:32make it 11 trophies out of 12 available to Brendan in his two spells at this famous club.
01:45Celtic could clinch a title at Tanerdice for the fourth time, the only away venue they've won the
01:51title at Moor is Kilmarnock, five times, Celtic have actually lost three of their last seven
02:01premiership games, stuttering somewhat but for most of this season they have been ruthless and clinical,
02:07it was always going to be their title and it may well be today Chris. Yep absolutely, Celtic will want
02:14to get the job done and cement yet another title but Dundee United don't want to be party poopers,
02:23they've got their eyes on a third place prize.
02:31Dundee United indeed have excelled on their return to the top flight, a lot of changes in the summer
02:38but they've all worked out rather well, here's Jota.
02:46Tate who has been involved in six goals in the last two games, Vicco Chavez is across
02:53to deal with Dyson Maida and he will take a bit of dealing with again today.
02:58Yes he will, I just wondered when Rio Matate got on the half term whether he could have slipped that in behind, Chavez.
03:08The post-split fixtures start here with the 199th game in the Scottish Premiership this season,
03:21kept in by Hattate.
03:30I think for Dundee United today, Jim Goodwin, nothing he's bothered about the possession stats,
03:36Drew 0-0 with Celtic earlier this season just before Christmas, Celtic dominated the ball that day,
03:4378 percent possession but couldn't find a way to win.
03:49It's only three shots on target in that game which is very unlike them on what was a rather windy day
03:57in the city of discovery. Dyson Maida immediately latching on to this and the Celtic fans
04:02claiming a handball but only them.
04:07The position of the arm, Chavez was by his side, mightily harsh,
04:14the flick didn't hit him on the hand anyway.
04:28Celtic are unbeaten in their last 22 encounters with Dundee United since 2014.
04:36Glyn Middleton just on the drift there, Middleton started out on this left-hand side but
04:49he spotted an opening and he feels partially done by there.
05:02Celtic finished the title here in 2022,
05:142008 and 1981.
05:18Nicholas Kuhn over the top, he'll carry to Janet Walton.
05:28Nicholas Kuhn on the half turn, oh he's going to look for that run from
05:30Mason Maida. Walton has had an exceptional season, alert as ever.
05:46Go, go, go, go, go!
05:54Go, go, go!
05:56Jota.
05:57Come on, keep up, keep up!
06:03Kasper Smichel has kept more clean sheets in the premiership this season than Dundee United's Jack Wharton.
06:09Here's Nicholas Kuhn.
06:27Strain.
06:27Chavet is on to this and Middleton to his left but he's gone through the middle towards
06:40Dolby. Will Ferry is there.
06:46Master Johnston cleared it. Campbell then has found Middleton.
06:50Johnston pokes it away but only to Chivet.
07:04Sybald. Nicholas Kuhn will turn that away from Middleton.
07:08It's got to be cleaner there Sybald who started just in behind Sam Dolby.
07:13Good run, decent first touch.
07:16This place passed allowed Kuhn to get back.
07:20Will Ferry goes long, Sinisalo came to punch it away.
07:36Here's Chivet.
07:41I don't know why Sinisalo didn't catch that.
07:46Rostock and he has floated that one back in towards Dolby. Campbell is there.
07:51Taken down by Dolby. Offside flag has gone up. Sinisalo saves anyway but the flag had been raised.
07:59That's a good save from Sinisalo. It was an early flag.
08:03Dolby does well. Reads the flight to the ball. Well knocks it down to
08:06Campbell. Campbell and that touch. You can see Payton had just drifted. Offside.
08:16On by Engels.
08:17Well Ferry has had an excellent season for Dundee United. Engels clattered into him there but helping him to his feet.
08:28He has had a good season for Dundee United.
08:28He has had a good season, Ferry. See Engels just eases him out.
08:40That is into the boards but handshake, get on with it.
08:43The Celtic haven't kept a clean sheet away from home in the Scottish Premiership since here in December.
09:01Launched by Walton towards Dolby.
09:10Sybil looking to latch onto it but Engels flicked it away.
09:14Colin McGregor steps in as usual.
09:28Engels over the top of Docherty.
09:36Only Vassilov Cherny and James Tavernier of Rangers have created more chances in the Premiership this season than Will Ferry.
09:43Good start Ian then.
09:49Thanks.
09:53Here's Ryan Strain.
10:00Double Jager for Chavet.
10:03He missed the last couple of matches.
10:07As did Ross Graham who's also absent again today.
10:13Yeah, they've got the pace in wide areas Dundee United.
10:17Payton on the right.
10:20Middleton on the left.
10:21Oh, double Jager wants to get there ahead of Jota and does.
10:35Strain.
10:36And then Ross Strain.
10:40As Ross Stocherty arrives.
10:41He'll get his head on that or maybe his face.
10:46Tell you what, this is a chance.
10:47Stocherty just drifts in.
10:49Runs off Engels there and early cross from Strain under pressure.
10:58Still think he has to head that down and hit the target.
11:01Dolby and Payton looking for his first Dundee United goal but it was far too tame.
11:16Yes, it was.
11:18That's a big chance for Payton.
11:21Clever little touch from Dolby to set him up.
11:24Doesn't have to take a touch.
11:25Can stroll onto it first time.
11:27He's got to make Sinisalo work harder than that.
11:29Not enough pace or precision on that effort.
11:52It's a positive start from Dundee United.
11:55Flipped on by Dolby but Johnston will get there ahead of Middleton.
12:06And that, you know, emphasizes everybody talking before the game about Celtic just
12:11coming here and expecting the job to be done.
12:13The players have to go out and earn the right.
12:16We saw what happened in St Johnston against St Johnston the other week.
12:22Good response since then.
12:25You have to earn titles.
12:33Tate.
12:36Back by Chávez.
12:39Ogregor and Sybil together.
12:56Well, Ferry has, as we've seen, the potential to go long.
12:59Why not with Sam Dolby around, although no Declan Gallagher is usually a target today.
13:09He's on the bench.
13:10High into the Dundee sky from Johnston, pop back by Ferry and away by Carter Vickers.
13:19Interesting call leaving Gallagher on the bench.
13:23I think he sees Chávez as being more mobile and can deal with, or try and deal with the threat of Dazen Maeda.
13:30And Declan Gallagher will be leaving Dundee United at the end of the season.
13:38Could still do a job for someone, no doubt about that.
13:42Well, Ferries coming over from this side to that side for you-know-what.
13:55Scales attending to Dolby.
14:10Here it comes from Ferri.
14:15Hooked away by Jota, but nobody up there for Celtic.
14:18I think a lot of balls are being thrown on the pitch by the Celtic fans at the moment in protest.
14:32Looks like fruit taking the healthy option to protest at ticket prices for this game.
14:48Tangerines, aimed at the tangerines, following a hike in the price of a ticket for this game.
14:55Yeah, you know what, I can understand supporters' frustration with that.
15:05They're still being launched on, all it will do is just drag the game out.
15:15A bit of thought got into that, anyway.
15:20But yes, it will delay the game and a shake of the head from Brendan Rodgers,
15:25because this is the last thing the players need.
15:30Absolutely, it just disrupts the rhythm of the game, doesn't it?
15:34Dundee United actually have had a really positive start to the game,
15:40but both sets of players can do without this.
15:47They've had a fruitful start.
15:49Not easy to clear these either.
15:58It will delay proceedings.
16:03Good to see the players all doing their bit.
16:05Great eyesight from you to spot their tangerines.
16:13I thought they were going to be tennis balls, but at the home of the tangerines.
16:19Change of idea on that.
16:20I thought they were more like Clementine's eyes.
16:28That was pointless.
16:29What is the difference?
16:31We're nearly there.
16:43We have made their point.
16:52Not that the manager seemed overly impressed by it.
17:08Back to the football.
17:09The delay of just over two and a half minutes there.
17:31Greg Taylor, man of the match against his former club, Kilmarnock.
17:48The last league match.
17:49He hit a major part, didn't he?
18:00Really, those early parts of the game against Kilmarnock, getting Celtic to play.
18:04Moves into that inverted roll.
18:07Drifts around.
18:10Spots little pockets of space.
18:12Links things up beautifully.
18:14Johnson.
18:34Scales.
18:36Mider.
18:40Wasn't a good ball in.
18:41Today's a Mider from Liam Scales.
18:44Tays and Mider on 33 goals now.
18:54One more would match Kyogo's tally from a couple of seasons ago.
19:04Taylor.
19:05Jota.
19:08Tate.
19:10Into water.
19:10Nicholas Kuhn stretching for it.
19:13Couldn't make contact.
19:15I was wondering whether Tate was going to take a pop from that position.
19:18Let's the ball run across his body brilliantly.
19:20And Kuhn.
19:22He's onside.
19:23Just needed longer legs there.
19:31There was a time when he looked nailed on to be a player of the season in Scotland.
19:36Nicholas Kuhn.
19:37But one off the boil a bit and Dyson Mider has been shining brightly.
19:45Flying start to the season, didn't he?
19:46Dolby.
19:54Dolby.
19:55Loses out.
19:56Nice from Kuhn for Engels.
20:08That's not bad either.
20:09Just drifted away from Mider.
20:11Jota was coming in and Ryan Strain knew as much.
20:13Yeah, he did the right thing, Strain.
20:18Clever little touch from Nicholas Kuhn.
20:20Engels that early ball.
20:22I wonder whether he was trying to find Dyson Mider, but Strain disciplined.
20:27But the Jota could have made a run a little bit earlier.
20:29Scales and Carter Vickers.
20:45Both showing interest.
20:46Engels floats it in.
20:48Carter Vickers nearly got there.
20:49Adeboyega did.
20:50And Wharton probably could have caught that, but decided to punch it away.
20:56A bit like Cinesalo at the other end.
21:06Jota.
21:09A lovely touch from Engels and Callum McGregor.
21:14Sneaking into the box.
21:15Another corner.
21:16Adeboyega does well.
21:18Did well twice there.
21:19First of all, I thought Carter Vickers had the run on him.
21:22Made that header in the near post space and getting that shot blocked there.
21:26Getting out to Callum McGregor.
21:35Engels tries again.
21:36Powered away by Chivet.
21:42McGregor.
21:45Engels.
21:53Scales.
21:56Nicholas Kuhn.
22:03Nicholas Kuhn.
22:05Soar of Strain.
22:10Mider going overhead.
22:12Johnston and his route blocked.
22:14Taylor.
22:22Jota.
22:24Jota.
22:26Scored three goals.
22:29Including on his last two visits here to Tallerdice.
22:32Fairey pinched that, but because Kuhn has run it back, excellent work from Celtics number 10.
22:41Nice pass for Engels too.
22:43Dyson Mider trying to swivel and turn it goalwards.
22:48But Clarence United hang in there.
22:54Carter Vickers grappling strongly with Dolby.
22:57He's got to back in there, be stronger.
23:05Carter Vickers getting really tight to him.
23:08Tate.
23:17Engels.
23:18Kings the cross in.
23:19Walton having to push it away, but now Jota.
23:26Ryan Strain stands firm and has assistance from Adeboyega.
23:30Celtic increasing the momentum here and tried that one with the outside of his boot.
23:48Nicholas Kuhn.
23:49Slightly optimistic.
23:53Brendan Rodgers happy with the reaction from Nicholas Kuhn there.
23:58Got the hook against St. Johnston, didn't he, a few weeks ago?
24:03Seemed a little bit flat and lethargic, came to nothing, eventually the Celtic attack, but...
24:10Nose of James Forrest breathing down his neck.
24:14He's got his work cut out to get a place in the team.
24:19That goalless draw here in December was Brendan Rodgers' first visit to Tanner Dice.
24:27Swerved Dundee United in his first spell in charge, although he's werved him.
24:33Rory Payton sees the flag go up.
24:43Free kick.
24:50Tom Robertson is the referee, as you saw, with Greg Aitken on VAR duty.
25:03And Deboyega's in there, he's scored the winner in the last game against St. Johnston here.
25:20Strain's free kick goes low.
25:22Possibly not quite what he planned.
25:28Dreadful execution from Strain.
25:32A lot forward by Will Ferry.
25:38Strain trying to do a bit better there and has secured a corner.
25:41Strain's in that near post space area.
25:48Living behind.
25:54Glenn Middleton will go across and take this.
25:56To be closely watched by Carter Vickers again.
26:13No surprise there.
26:15Middleton hoisting it in.
26:18Sinisalo gets a fist to it again.
26:19Payton making a nuisance of himself just standing in and around Sinisalo.
26:31It's his role to be a disruptor.
26:33Long throw time again for Will Ferry.
26:48Those two are having quite the tussle already.
26:52Will Ferry's long throw.
26:55Comes back in his direction.
26:58Brushes off Johnston.
26:59Away by Ingles and Kuhn.
27:05And a boy in a girl.
27:09Carter Vickers is there to meet it.
27:27Johnston.
27:28Kuhn.
27:29Oh, it's a lovely flip.
27:32Ingles.
27:34Has surveyed in his way.
27:35But that was cute and clever from Nicholas Kuhn.
27:38Yeah, good understanding with Ingles.
27:40Not for the first time this afternoon.
27:43Ferry getting so tight.
27:46Greg Taylor flicks that on.
27:47Middleton just a bit off balance.
27:50Otherwise, it might have been a very different outcome.
27:52Good job.
27:54Yeah, the quick corner.
27:55Taylor alert as ever.
27:57Clever little ball outside of his left boot.
28:00And now he's in mida.
28:03Doesn't time his.
28:04Header correctly goes for power.
28:11Can't quite generate enough to get the header on target.
28:15Greg Taylor, who's out of contract at the end of the season.
28:25Still no word on what might happen.
28:27And Kieran Tierney set to return to the club.
28:33Brendan Rodgers said he was keen to keep Taylor.
28:36Header's up.
28:37McGregor.
29:07Taylor.
29:14Nicholas Kuhn.
29:18Will Ferry for any corner.
29:23Brendan Rodgers spoke about those wide areas for Celtic.
29:26Kuhn and the right and Jota on the left and those 1v1 situations.
29:34United have handled them pretty well in the opening stages.
29:46All the way around for Dolby and Carter Vickers.
29:49Engels hoisting the corner in.
29:53Taken down by Payton and cleared by Strain.
29:55Patience is often a virtue for Celtic in games like this.
30:07Nothing much happening for them at the moment.
30:11In the final third.
30:24Engels.
30:26Tate lurking edge of area.
30:33Engels for Alistair Johnston.
30:35And Gervais puts it behind for a corner.
30:38I think Dundee United are happy to concede the wide areas and let Celtic put crosses in.
30:46Well-clitted situations.
30:47They don't want them playing through the centre.
30:50Gervais had quite the start really.
30:53Been more than solid this first 28-29 minutes.
30:57Gervais has been a key player for them this season.
31:00Vichko Chavez in midfield and now at the back.
31:04Engels tries once more.
31:06Scales trying to get near it.
31:08It's found a way in.
31:10Chotters claiming it.
31:12Celtic have got their goal which could well get them going.
31:20Going towards another title.
31:23It might be an own goal for Rhinestrain.
31:30It's all about Liam Scales out-swinger.
31:33Times his jump brilliantly.
31:35You can see Jotter just hanging out at the far post.
31:40Well, it doesn't matter whether it's Strain or Jotter.
31:44It looks like it's off Strain's left shin.
31:47Let's have another look.
31:49Yeah, it's an own goal.
31:51Strain straining.
31:53But the bit.
31:55Jotter doesn't care.
31:56He doesn't get the touch.
31:58And Celtic on the way to securing yet another title.
32:03Celtic will happily accept Gis as they looked across the finishing line.
32:15Sam Dolby just couldn't get the grips with Liam Scales.
32:18He won't care.
32:19Brendan Rodgers how the goal came about.
32:21Stop yesterday!
32:22Stop yesterday!
32:23Stop yesterday!
32:24Stop yesterday!
32:25Stop yesterday!
32:26Do it!
32:27So Celtic haven't actually had an effort on target themselves.
32:43But Ryan Strain has on their behalf.
32:46Yeah, that's a head scratch of that for anybody just popping the television on.
32:52What on earth is going on?
32:53But Celtic lead for a goal from a Dundee United player.
33:00ину Dominion.
33:12But Cleo, with that goal!
33:14Ingles.
33:20Л Liam Scales now.
33:23starting it would appear on their way
33:30unless Dundee United come out some kind of response
33:38Middleton skip past Johnston but Nicholas Coon was helping him out
33:45yeah defensively a couple of occasions now Nicholas Coon
33:49Penny's dropped, he got a track back and he has done
33:54helped his mate Alistair Johnson out there
34:05now by Cheve on Mider
34:08the result is score first
34:16the outcome is rarely in doubt
34:20pretty ruthless isn't it
34:26Mider Johnson
34:43Campbell just caught Jota there
34:46they've been happy he's in a fair bit of pain there Jota
34:55they've been happy to press Celtic quite high up Dundee United
34:59and leaving three for three at the back
35:01as Campbell
35:09Jota gets across him
35:11just his studs into the turf there
35:14well he immediately signalled for help
35:18and Jota which has now arrived
35:21he looks
35:23in a not so good way
35:28here we go the Celtic goal
35:45scales gets up
35:48and strain
35:51just on his heels a little bit
35:53he knows Jota's behind him
35:55he can't let it through
35:56reactive
35:59seeking his leg out
36:01some celebrations those
36:03he's trying to get him
36:15must Campbell there
36:16take a little kick on that
36:20right knee
36:22that is not a good sign
36:27well Adam Eder is going to replace
36:34Jota
36:35so
36:37sometimes Mider will go out wide again
36:39but
36:39it's a bit of a worry this

37:34of Mider
37:35yeah
37:37don't often say that
37:38about Callum McGregor

37:41there
37:41it's good from Adam Eder
37:43of course has gone into
37:44that central striking

40:40quite a
40:41tight angle
40:41it's a
40:42brilliant finish

40:55today

41:09hasn't he
41:09the energy
41:10seems to be
41:11back with him
41:12that desire
41:14may be playing
41:15with a point
41:16to prove
41:16it's only his

42:36from
42:37Itate
42:37I don't think
42:39he gets a

42:39It's a really
42:46poor finish
42:48really
42:48mistimes
42:49his jump
42:50he's got to
42:51expect that ball

43:31Conte
43:56Vickers
43:56Johnston, Ingles
44:03Greg Taylor in that role that he plays so well
44:14Dean Scales now for Dyson Mider
44:16Celtic seeking a third
44:21and that second goal they've really got control now
44:25Celtic it's where they want to be
44:38Tate quick one for Ingles just gonna fizz away from him
44:49as it stands there are going to be five minutes added on to this first half
44:55that has turned out well for Brendan Rodgers another season that has turned out well
45:03pinched the treble in his first season in charge with a Scottish Cup final victory over Aberdeen
45:13good history will repeat itself this season
45:18United are going to have to do something they don't do very often in that score against Celtic here at Tannerdice
45:20they've only managed one goal in the last eight meetings here that was from Dylan Levitt back in 2022
45:28that was the day that
45:36that was the day that
45:50I think you know the next goal is so important we know 2-0 precarious scoreline
46:06Tunde United get the next goal they'll feel they're well and truly back in if they can see the next one
46:12that will be curtains
46:15either Taylor Tate
46:19Tate
46:24it's Doherty
46:26blocked it initially but now concedes the corner
46:29tracked him well
46:31Doherty
46:32off come Carter Vickers who scored that sensational goal against Kilmarnock
46:48his first league goal of the season actually
46:50Liam Scales his first Celtic goal came on this ground back in 2021
46:57we are moving into five extra minutes in this first half
47:09angles with the corner McGregor
47:16Johnston for Coon

48:04Cullen Campbell saw that coming
48:07he did well

48:34Dealing with Sam Dolby again
48:36making life difficult for Dolby
48:38and that's their sort of out ball isn't it Dunde United
48:41that direct ball into him but
48:44he needs Sibyl getting closer earlier
48:47to help him out
48:49here's Dyson Maida
48:56looking for Ida it's Nicolas Coon again
48:58rediscovered
48:59Dyson Maida
49:00looking for Ida it's Nicolas Coon again
49:04rediscovering his form in the city of Discovery Celtic are having another party another title winning party
49:11well there's three and easy for Celtic it's all about Dyson Maida it's all about Dyson Maida movement in and then spin
49:18winger to winger to winger to winger again ball popped in Adam Eda
49:25he lets it run through him the movement from Maida is superb initially wasn't the greatest of touch and it's a bit of a hopeful ball in
49:32Nicolas Coon doing what good wide players do getting in
49:59at the far post
50:06and that's as easy
50:08as they come I think either actually tries to get
50:11an effort off
50:13as it falls to Nicolas Coon
50:15just has to say composed
50:18and that's the title
50:21the title
50:28Celtic have made it to 100 goals in the Scottish Premiership this season
50:34nice round figure and Nicolas Coon is up to 20 goals overall
50:39this has been convincing and comfortable
50:54that call to put Nicolas Coon back into the team left him out
51:01mentioned Nicolas Coon point to prove
51:05he had been a sub for the last two games Coon
51:11more trouble ahead here because Dyson Maida speeding forward and Coon alongside
51:17just got his back heel all wrong as soon as he's
51:24facing behind I mean it's
51:28really careless from Dundee United's perspective
51:32Maida there
51:33see what he's trying the run from Nicolas Coon
51:36in behind him
51:37not linking on that occasion
51:40okay Taylor
51:47shaking off Sibold or is he
51:49Sibold
51:50couldn't steer it over
51:52Sinisalo
51:53couldn't get the elevation could he that was
51:56that was half a chance that for
51:58Sibold
51:59it's been straight forward for the champions
52:12then the United have a couple of moments but an own goal from Ryan Strain
52:16put Celtic on their way
52:19and then step forward Nicolas Coon
52:22left out of the starting line up in the last couple of matches
52:26making his presence felt on his return with a double
52:31and Celtic
52:33are ready to celebrate again
52:35celebrate another title
52:37another trophy
52:38it's what they do
52:40half-time at Tanerdice
