The Mercedes-Benz Vision V luxury van concept showcases the future of high-end

00:00I'm Elisa Priddle with Motor Trend and I am here in Stuttgart, Germany and this is the face of the Mercedes-Benz Vision V.
00:21This is a concept vehicle of what Mercedes sees as their next generation of vans.
00:27We're talking commercial vans and private luxury vans.
00:32This is something we've been waiting for.
00:34Mercedes told us years ago they were working on a new architecture to have a new generation of vans and they were going to be electric and it was going to be called Van EA.
00:44Well, since that time they've realized people are not migrating to electric quite as quickly as we thought.
00:51So they have introduced a second version which they're calling Van CA, the C being for combustion engine.
01:00And we are going to see these things coming to market starting in 2026 with the electric version.
01:08This is a very large vehicle and a couple of things stand out.
01:16First off, check out these wheels.
01:19This is a new take on a five spoke wheel.
01:22And as you can see, it's a very long body.
01:25It's going to come in a standard and a long wheel base, we're assuming.
01:29And to try and reduce the slab look of so much sheet metal, you can see they've kind of sculpted it down the sides.
01:37We've added some chrome because again, this is a luxury vehicle.
01:42Really, it's for people who want to be chauffeured.
01:44Like I said, this is a private luxury van.
01:55And so here I am in the lap of luxury.
01:58When I look in front of me, oh, I've got a nice fireplace setting going on here.
02:04I'm comfortable in my leather seats and I have options.
02:10I mean, if I don't want to just sit here and look at the fireplace, look, the screen actually is rising.
02:17This is a 65 inch screen and we're going to get a new thing there.
02:21And while that happens, I feel like I should recline myself in these lovely white seats.
02:28And check out all the things around me.
02:31Here we've got a pullout table.
02:34We've got speakers on display.
02:37That's a chess set, I believe, over there.
02:40I'm sure there's beverages.
02:42Oh yes, we've got beverages in the side.
02:44We've got this fancy chandelier of sorts.
02:48I kind of think that this would be a great way to travel.
02:52I just haven't got my chauffeur yet.
02:55The whole point of concepts is to get a glimpse into the mind of the designers as to what kind of things
03:24we might see when the car goes into production in the future.
03:28And so some of the things we're really liking on this one.
03:32Well, of course, it's the illuminated hood ornament.
03:35So hoping that goes into production.
03:37We'll have to see.
03:38Also intrigued by the power dome and see how we get to have a glimpse of it underneath the windshield as well.
03:46So a really interesting take on showing, you know, the power that you don't expect to see in a minivan.
03:51And also all of the illumination because the future of vehicles really is being defined by how they are illuminating.
04:00So we'll have to see how much of this makes it into the next generation.
04:03But certainly this has to be a very broad hint of what we can expect.
04:08When this goes on sale in 2026, they're going to start with the electric versions that at some point the combustion engine ones will follow.
