00:00Men of Nigeria Anti-Illicit Drugs Police, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA have raided a hotel in Lagos State, a major commercial city in Nigeria and recovered over 1.042 billion nairas worth of Canadian loud, a strong strain of cannabis at the 80 Rooms Hotel building and arrested three suspects in connection with the illicit drugs.
00:23NDLEA during the week also arrested a 60-year-old woman with cannabis in Karno State. The anti-illicit drugs security operatives in addition intercepted over 2 million pills of Tramadol in Karno, Jigawa, another Saudi-bound cocaine in body cream, arrests three Ghanaian ladies for cross-border trafficking.
00:44According to NDLEA news releases, an 80-room new hotel in Victoria Island Lagos used as cover for distributing illicit substances has been raided by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA,
00:59who after hours of combing the rooms recovered 589 bags of Canadian loud, a strong strain of cannabis with a total weight of 417.3 kg worth 1,042,500,000 naira only in street value.
01:17At least, three suspects, Ezaitu, Ofuoku Samuel, and Emmanuel Amé were arrested in the course of the operation at the five-story hotel building between Friday 25th and Saturday 26th of April 2025 while two other suspects, Noble Phillip and his partner Kenneth are currently at large.
01:38Items suspected to be proceeds of illicit drug trade recovered from the premises housing the Hook Hotel also known as Caesar Hotel and Caesar Lounge located at 16 Waziri Ibrahim Street, off LC Femi Pierce Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, include
01:55Toyota Prado Land Cruiser G, Lagos AKD 472 Oz, Toyota Siena Vehicle, Lagos KJ A79HJ, Volkswagen Delivery Van, Lagos AAA 525 Cher, Kia Cerento Car, Lagos VDG 860 GQ, Grand Caravan Dodge, Lagos A847YF, 74 new TV sets.
02:2210 used TV sets, and 13 refrigerators, among others.
02:28In another major interdiction in Jagawa State with a follow-up operation in Kano, NDLEA operatives acting on intelligence on Wednesday 23rd April seized consignments of opioids being moved from Kano to Niger Republic and Yobay State through Jagawa.
02:44The psychoactive substances were being moved in a Toyota Siena Vehicle marked ABJ 182 NW at about 2.30am on Wednesday along Kano-Ringham Road, Gumel Town when anti-narcotic offices on patrol intercepted them with two suspects,
03:01Ava Ibrahim, 28, and Shulabu Umar, 29 arrested.
03:07Recovered from the Siena Vehicle were 200,000 pills of tramadol 250 mg and 217,500 capsules of pre-gamelin.
03:18A swift follow-up operation in Kano led to the arrest of the supplier, 41-year-old Jamalu Muhammad, at his residence located at Miltara,
03:28lay in technical area of Kano while additional 1,584,000 pills of tramadol 250 mg stacked inside a Nissan 18-seater bus marked DAL 372XA and a room in his house were discovered and evacuated.
03:44This brings the total number of the recovered opioids to 2,001,500 pills.
03:52Barely a week after NDLEA offices of the Directorate of Operations and General Investigation, DOGI,
04:00uncovered 20 parcels of cocaine concealed inside religious books going to Saudi Arabia at a logistics company in Lagos,
04:07the operatives have again intercepted another shipment of 46 wraps of cocaine weighing 547 grams hidden in body cream going to the Middle East country.
04:18The seizure was made on Wednesday the 23rd of April at a courier firm in Lagos.
04:23Another consignment intercepted same day include, 1.8 kg pentazocene injection and 60 g bromozepam tablets heading to Canada.
04:34At the semi-border area of Badagri Lagos, three Ghanaian ladies were on Sunday the 20th of April arrested at the Gbargi checkpoint by NDLEA operatives
04:44while attempting to smuggle combined 4.8 kg of Ghana loud, a strong strain of cannabis into Nigeria.
04:52The suspects arrested include, Haziza Zubiru, 42, Samarat Mustafa, 43, and Jamila Salifu, 26.
05:02In Kano, a 60-year-old grandma Sophia Shinsu was on Friday the 25th of April nabbed at Samagu area of Combosso local government area with 5.6 kg skunk,
05:15a strain of cannabis, while another suspect Montari Labyrin, 35, was taken into custody following the seizure of 100 liters of codeine syrup
05:24from him in Yelwe area of Dala local government area.
05:28A total of 3,814.9 kg skunk was destroyed on two farms in Ubudu community, Ovia Northeast local government area,
05:39Edo State on Thursday the 24th of April when NDLEA operatives raided the plantations where three suspects,
05:46Samuel Samson, 26, Daniel Peter, 20, and Abel Edda, 31, were arrested.
05:54The war against drug abuse, WADA, social advocacy activities by NDLEA commands equally continued across the country in the past week.
06:05Some of them include, WADA sensitization lecture delivered to students and staff of Dan Doro Community Arabic Secondary School,
06:13Doro, Katsina, St. James Anglican School, Bataria, Kebi, Federal Government Girls College, Tambual, Sokato,
06:23and members of Oguniru Age Grade, Anitsha, Anambra, while the Lagos State Strategic Command of NDLEA paid WADA advocacy visit
06:32to the Ayingburan of Ikarodu, H.R.M. Oba Kabir Adewale Shotovi, among others.
06:39While commending the offices and men of DOGI, Lagos, Kano, Jagawa, Edo and Seme commands of the agency for the arrests and seizures of the past week,
