00:00What a nice guy he is.
00:05I wanted to race him, but I decided not to do it.
00:08The Pressure question about the Vladimir Putin
00:10after your meeting with Vladimir Zelensky,
00:12and how did that meeting go?
00:14The President's President of the United States
00:16I think the meeting went well.
00:17We'll see what happens over the next few days.
00:18We'll probably learn a lot.
00:20I was very disappointed that missiles were flying by Russia,
00:25but that missiles were flying.
00:27Very disappointing.
00:28We'll see how it goes.
00:30On the Iran situation, I think we're doing very well.
00:34I think a deal is going to be made there.
00:36That's going to happen.
00:38Pretty sure it's going to happen.
00:40We'll have something without having to start dropping bombs
00:44all over the place.
00:45The Pressure question about President Putin?
00:47The President. Say it again?
00:48The Pressure question about President Putin?
00:49The President. You know, in about two weeks.
00:51The Pressure question about President Putin?
00:53The President.
00:54The President.
00:55The President.
00:56The President.
00:57You know, he had your picture up.
00:58Everything.
00:59I did.
01:00I know him.
01:01The Pressure question.
01:02What in the relationship lines they made you reassuring?
01:06The President.
01:07The President.
01:08Well, it wasn't that.
01:09It was just — look, they have a tough road ahead.
01:12Okay?
01:13And we had a good meeting.
01:15It was a nice meeting.
01:16It was a beautiful meeting.
01:17It's the nicest — the nicest office I've ever seen.
01:20It was a beautiful, beautiful scene, but he was very, you know, look, he wants to do something good for his country, thinks he's doing a good job, and he's working hard. We'll see what happens. It's a very complicated deal.
01:35The Press, what did he tell you, Mr. President?
01:36The President. He told me that he needs more weapons, but he's been saying that for three years, you know. He needs more weapons, and we're going to see what happens. I want to see what happens with respect to Russia.
01:48Because Russia had been surprised and disappointed, very disappointed that they did the bombing of those places after discussions.
01:58The Press, did he talk to Putin again?
02:00The President. Yeah, I will.
02:01The Press, did President Zelensky talk to you about Crimea?
02:04The President. Well, he did, very briefly, but Crimea was given away by Barack Hussein Obama and by Biden.
02:11That's 11 or 12 years ago. That's a long time ago.
02:14I don't know how he could bring up Crimea, because that's been a long time.
02:19Nobody brought it up for 12 years, and now they bring it up now.
02:22So I told him, I told him, you can maybe go back to Obama, ask him why they gave it up.
02:29They gave it up without a shot being fired, by the way.
02:32The Press, what do you want Vladimir Putin to do?
02:36The President. Well, I want him to stop shooting, sit down and sign a deal.
02:40And we have the confines of a deal, I believe. And I want him to sign it, and be done with it, and just go back to life.
02:48The Press, what unit of action are you considering taking against Barack Obama?
02:52The President. Well, I have a lot of things I can do. I'm not looking to do it.
02:55But I have a lot of strength. You know, we've built the United States up.
02:59I think we're more respected now as a country, maybe, than ever before.
03:03There's no more games. You have somebody that knows what he's doing, not like the previous person who didn't have a clue.
03:10So, you know, I just — I want to end that. I want to end the Iran situation, if we can.
03:17And we have other things, too. You know, we've got plenty of problems in the world.
03:21When I left, four and a half years ago, I left. And I'll tell you what, we didn't have any of these problems.
03:28The good news is, costs are way down. Groceries are down. Eggs are down. Gasoline is way down.
03:36It's all coming down. It's all looking good. The tariffs are strong. It's — we're taking in a lot of money from tariffs.
03:44We were losing a lot before I got here. We were losing billions of dollars a day.
03:49And now we're doing great. And we haven't even kicked in yet.
03:52And eventually, we'll be reducing taxes very substantially for the people of our country.
03:57Because the money is so great, coming in from tariffs, that I'll be able to reduce taxes to a very large extent.
04:04And maybe almost completely.
04:06The Press, do you think two weeks about President Putin? What is two weeks?
04:12What is the actual date? What is the timeline?
04:14Well, two weeks — two weeks are less. And if it's a little more at the time, I say.
04:18But, you know, they're losing a lot of people. We have three, four thousand people dying every single week.
04:26That's a lot of people to lose. You can imagine parents waving — from Ukraine and from Russia —
04:32waving to their son as he leaves. And, you know, a week later, he's dead on a battlefield, all carved up and chopped up.
04:39I've seen it. I see — I see the satellite pictures. They're horrible. They're horrible.
04:47I would say it can't get any worse. Body parts laying all over — I don't even like looking at them.
04:53Body parts laying all over fields. What are they doing? It would have never started if I were president.
04:59Is your relationship with President Zelensky better now than big more in the Oval Office?
05:04It was never bad. We had a little dispute, because I disagreed with something he said.
05:09And the cameras were rolling, and that was okay with me. But we had a dispute. But I — look, he's in — he's in a tough situation. A very tough situation.
05:21He's fighting a much bigger force. Much bigger. And that force has not been very distinguished.
05:28You know, it's been a lot tougher than they thought. But it helped them when we gave them $350 billion worth of weapons or cash.
05:36Is Zelensky ready to give up Crimea, do you think, Mr. President?
05:39Oh, I think so, yeah. Look, Crimea was 12 years ago. That was President Obama. They gave it up without a shot being fired.
05:47So, don't talk to me about Crimea. Talk to Obama and Biden about Crimea.
05:51I was just wondering what Zelensky thought about it.
05:53And remember, this is Biden's war. This isn't Trump's war. I came in to try and solve a problem.
05:59And the problem is so many people are being killed. By the way, Saquon, what a great guy.
06:04You see, the conditioning — the conditioning's pretty good. Better than you, better than me.
06:10Sir, can I ask you? Do you have a reaction to Virginia Guthrie's suicide? Do you have a reaction to Virginia Guthrie's suicide in Australia?
06:18Well, it's a very sad situation, the whole thing. That whole situation is very sad — her and others.
06:24And so, certainly, that's a horrible thing. Horrible.
06:28The Press, one more — one more on Zelensky. You know, the last meeting you had was pretty rough.
06:33But do you sense a different attitude now? And it's so wild.
06:37I do. I see him as calmer. I think he understands the picture.
06:43And I think he wants to make a deal. I don't know if he wants to make a deal.
06:47I think he wants to make a deal. Thank you, sir. Good job.
06:50The Press, President. Did you talk to — did you talk to anyone about tariffs yesterday?
06:53Did any foreign leaders approach you and ask for —
06:55The President Trump I did, and you probably saw —
06:57I think every foreign leader approached me and said hello.
07:00And a lot of good relationships. And we're going to be taking in a tremendous amount
07:06of money. We're going to be taking in a lot of jobs, a lot of plants and factories.
07:11They're already coming. I mean, you see it.
07:13And we're going to make a lot of money, and we're going to cut taxes for the people of this country.
07:17It'll take a little while before we do that.
07:20But we're going to be cutting taxes. And it's possible we'll do a complete tax cut.
07:25Because I think the tariffs will be enough to cut all of the income tax.
07:29Now, we have a lot of debt that's been left to us, you know, unfortunately, over many years.
07:34We'll take care of that. But the tariffs — when — if people only understood the tariffs,
07:40we're going to be giving people of this country a tremendous tax cut.
07:44And we're going to start with people making less than $200,000 a year.
07:48The Press, President. Is there any movement on China?
07:50The Press, President. A little bit. Look, a little bit.
07:53They want to make a deal, obviously. Right now they're not doing business with us.
07:57You know, people talk about going cold turkey with China, meaning just forget about it.
08:03And we were losing hundreds of billions of dollars a year with China.
08:07And now they're not doing any business with us, you know, because — not because of them, because of me.
08:13Because at 145 percent, you can't do business.
08:17But something is going to happen that's going to be possible.
08:21The Press, President. Did you and the First Lady have a nice birthday dinner on the bus?
08:24The President. We had a great dinner. She's a great First Lady.
08:26People loved her. And the funeral was beautiful.
08:29It was a beautiful funeral. As funerals go, it was a beautiful funeral.
08:32The Press, President. The Wisconsin judge is being prosecuted by the FBI for sheltering someone that ICE was trying to detain.
08:41Do you have any thoughts about that Wisconsin judge?
08:43The President. Well, I think it's horrible.
08:45I think the whole thing is horrible with judges, with what's going on.
08:49And they shouldn't be doing that. That's very dangerous territory.
08:53And we have to be able to do what I ran on.
08:56I ran on a campaign of taking criminals out of our country — murderers, drug dealers, people that are insane.
09:02People that are insane moved out of insane asylums and mental institutions.
09:08These are insane people. And I want on the fact that we're going to be doing this.
09:13We have to be allowed to do it. Otherwise, we're not going to have a country any longer.
09:17Thank you very much.
