00:00Mr. President, I just saw the minority leader of the United States Senate, the senior senator from New York on the floor,
00:07talking about the hundred days of the Trump administration.
00:13He had his view. Let me give you the rest of the story.
00:17Because President Trump took office 100 days ago today.
00:23That's when unified Republican government began.
00:27The Republicans have been fighting every day for the American people.
00:32We've been fixing past failures.
00:35We are forging a bright future.
00:38We have a very bold agenda, and people are seeing historic results.
00:43Americans entrusted Republicans with the Senate, the House, and the White House.
00:48And we are addressing their priorities.
00:51What do Americans want? Americans want secure borders.
00:54We're delivering them.
00:55Illegal crossings into the United States from Mexico, all-time low last month.
01:03Americans want affordable energy.
01:05What's happening?
01:06We're making it a lot easier to produce American energy.
01:12Americans want jobs.
01:13We've created nearly 450,000 jobs in the first hundred days.
01:19Americans want affordable prices.
01:23That's what you've seen.
01:24That's what I see at home, Mr. President.
01:26Prices fell in March for the first time in years.
01:29In years!
01:31Americans want peace through strength.
01:34Well, we're restoring it.
01:35Just ask the Houthi rebels about the resolve of the American people.
01:43Americans want common sense, and we're fighting for that as well.
01:47After 100 days, one thing is clear.
01:51Republicans are keeping our promises.
01:53We're getting America back on track.
01:56Here's our record.
01:58The Senate confirmed President Trump's cabinet at lightning speed.
02:02Record rates.
02:04His team carries out the agenda to get America back on track.
02:07That's what that team that we confirmed is doing.
02:10We promise safety and prosperity, and we're delivering.
02:13Well, first, we're making our communities safer, and you're seeing that in all 50 states.
02:19President Trump quickly restored strong border policies.
02:25He ended the chaos.
02:27He reinstated Remain in Mexico.
02:30He designated the cartels as terrorists.
02:34He stopped Joe Biden's widespread abuse of parole authorities.
02:39And he is doing what he promised in terms of deporting criminal illegal immigrants.
02:46I applaud President Trump.
02:49Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem.
02:51Border czar, Tom Homan.
02:53They have made a significant difference to the safety and security of the American people.
03:00Illegal crossings have dropped 94% on their watch.
03:03I mean, think about it.
03:04Before, under Joe Biden's open border policies, let's take a look at March last year,
03:11they were having 7,000 illegal immigrants cross into this country each and every day.
03:17Now under President Trump, 7,000 for the entire month of March.
03:25Talk about a dramatic impact, a dramatic difference.
03:28That's it.
03:29Immigration and Customs Enforcement report there were over 100,000 deportations in the first 80 days of the administration.
03:39We've seen more ICE arrests of illegal immigrant criminals in the last 100 days under President Trump
03:46than we saw in all of 2024 under Joe Biden.
03:49So the message is now clear.
03:51If you threaten our communities, you're out.
03:56No second chances.
03:57That's it.
03:59This is progress and it is promises made.
04:02Republicans in Congress, what do we do?
04:04We pass the Lake and Riley Act.
04:06President Trump signed it into law.
04:07The first bill that he signed into law.
04:10The first serious immigration legislation in decades.
04:15It honors the memory of Lake and Riley, a young nursing student who was murdered by an illegal immigrant in Georgia when she was out for a jog.
04:25It also honors the memory of Sarah Root.
04:27Now she was a young woman from Iowa.
04:29She was killed by an illegal alien who was driving while drunk.
04:34Senator Joni Ernst of Iowa championed Sarah's cause for years.
04:38The Lake and Riley Act mandates illegal immigrants who break the law be detained, not just released into the community.
04:46With Republicans in Congress, compared to what we saw with the Democrats in the last four years, we are committed to protecting American families.
04:53That's the reason that we continue to work with President Trump to get Border Patrol agents the tools and the resources that they need.
05:01Things they were never able to do under Joe Biden and the Democrats with their open border policies.
05:07Our agenda puts us on a path to finish the wall.
05:10It will boost the Border Patrol.
05:12It will provide the staffing that Immigration and Customs Enforcement need.
05:18It's going to build more detention space for the lawbreakers.
05:22When you think about who those lawbreakers are, those were people who felt invited into our country by Joe Biden and the Democrats with free medical care, free food, free housing, free plane tickets.
05:34It's the open invitation and an open border policy.
05:39Those days are over.
05:41This is how we keep our communities safe.
05:44I'm going to switch to energy, Mr. President, because we have a bold energy agenda as well.
05:48For far too long, restrictive regulations locked up our God-given resources, the energy we had in the ground here, certainly in my home state in Wyoming, but all across the United States.
06:00The cost of energy for American citizens rose 31 percent in the past four years.
06:04Who can afford that?
06:05Well, we're reversing that trend.
06:10President Trump and the Secretary of Interior, Doug Burgum, the Secretary of Energy, Chris Wright, Environmental Protection Agency Head, Lee Zeldin.
06:17To me, they are America's energy all-stars.
06:20They're showing it every day.
06:22In 100 days, this administration, along with Congress, has taken over 50 actions to unleash America's energy potential.
06:31And we have a lot of it there.
06:32Mr. President, I was at the White House recently.
06:36President Trump signed an executive order for clean coal.
06:40Wyoming has – we are the Saudi Arabia of coal, and our energy workers are ready to lead the way.
06:49Because we are pursuing and need to continue to pursue all of the above energy strategy.
06:54We need it all.
06:56President Trump opened up areas for drilling in Alaska and the Gulf of America.
07:00It's American energy.
07:02It's affordable energy.
07:05Secretary of Interior, Doug Burgum, announced his department is working to increase oil production in the Gulf of America by 100,000 barrels each and every day.
07:15That's going to help lower costs.
07:17But President Trump has been so successful at streamlining burdensome requirements in terms of trying to build new energy infrastructure.
07:26He's lifted the Biden ban on liquefied natural gas exports.
07:30People around the world want what we have in America to sell.
07:34And they need it desperately.
07:36And we have abundant energy in this country.
07:40And we want to use that energy to help our allies and to help drive down costs at home.
07:46President Trump and Congress also cut costly Biden area regulations on home appliances.
07:52We're pioneering nuclear power that is safe and efficient.
07:55These steps power America and will continue to power us as a nation into the future.
08:03They fuel our freedom.
08:05That's why energy is called the master resource.
08:08They're good for affordable prices and good for our national security.
08:13Look, we are an energy superpower in this country.
08:16And under President Trump, we are finally acting like it.
08:20We're not apologizing for it as we did in the last administration.
08:24Because within days of taking office, President Trump restored pressure on Iran.
08:31That's how we are protecting strength around the world.
08:36And projecting it for the world to see.
08:40We're engaged in maximum pressure.
08:43That is a 180-degree turn from the weakness of the previous administration.
08:47It channels the strength and the resolve of President Ronald Reagan.
08:54President Trump has committed time and time again and shown the world that he stands firmly with Israel.
09:00Houthi terrorists attacked our service members and our ships.
09:04President Trump struck back.
09:07America defends our military and our interests.
09:10President Trump is also strengthening alliances around the world.
09:16Japan, South Korea, Australia, and India.
09:18They're partnering with us to counter China's global ambitions.
09:23And China is ambitious and active and aggressive.
09:28New trade deals are going to bring supply chains back home to America.
09:32And this is going to end our dependence on Communist China.
09:36Under President Trump, America continues to stand tall.
09:42Not going to be bullied.
09:43We're going to back our friends.
09:45We're going to confront our foes.
09:47This keeps America safe.
09:50Strength deters.
09:53Weakness invites.
09:54Provokes.
09:55And finally, Mr. President, we're turning to common sense.
10:00No more woke left-wing policies that the American people strongly oppose.
10:08No more DEI mandates in federal agencies.
10:12A refocused military focused on merit and readiness, not distractions.
10:21A military that is lethal, intimidating, and ready to fight.
10:26In Congress, we're seeing Republicans cutting wasteful Washington spending.
10:32Talk about common sense.
10:33Fiscal discipline is long overdue.
10:37This is bold, results-driven change.
10:42So how can we build on it?
10:43What's next?
10:44Well, the next hundred days, Republicans will continue to fulfill our promises.
10:49We're going to stop the Democrats' $4 trillion tax hike.
10:53This protects families and small businesses from the largest tax increase in American history.
10:59We're going to cut crippling regulations.
11:03Businesses will be allowed to grow and innovate and to thrive.
11:06We're going to strengthen our border by providing law enforcement the resources that they need.
11:12The Republican agenda puts America and Americans first.
11:19Our mission, our mandate, is America first.
11:23Republicans have delivered in 100 days.
11:27We've achieved so much, we're going to deliver even more.
11:31Because together, Mr. President, we're going to get America back on track.
11:36And America's future is brighter than ever.
11:39Thank you, Mr. President.
11:41I yield the floor.
11:42Suggest the absence of a quorum.
11:45The clerk will call the roll.
11:47Ms. Alstubrooks.
11:47And I yield the floor.
11:49The clerk will call the foresight.
