00:58The building can see children.
00:59Oh no!
01:00Oh for a minute!
01:02Then, bonfire of insanity.
01:05What really caused the massive New Jersey wildfire?
01:09Exclusive weekly bonfire parties.
01:12How it led to disaster.
01:14People still had more bonfires even after this big raging wildfire.
01:18And, Trump late night meltdown over his sinking poll numbers.
01:23The worst on record.
01:25He has broken his own record.
01:27Then, what an entrance.
01:30Beyonce's flying car.
01:32Plus, legendary coach Bill Belichick and his 24-year-old girlfriend fight back after shutting down saying today.
01:40And, Miracle Boy.
01:42Six years ago, a madman threw him over the balcony at the mall.
01:47He picked him up under his arms and ran and just threw him.
01:50Someone just fell from the third floor to the first floor.
01:53They thought he was a goner, but he survived.
01:57He should not be alive.
01:58Look at him now.
01:59Now, Inside Edition with Debra Norval.
02:05Hello everybody and thank you for joining us.
02:07It was created to give parents a safe place for their children during the summer and after school.
02:12But today, three children and an 18-year-old girl who were at the daycare center are dead.
02:18Killed when a woman drove through the school.
02:21Seeing the faces of the little ones who are lost is truly heartbreaking.
02:25Les Trent reports.
02:25It's a shocking image.
02:29A hole punched out of a daycare center after a car plows into it.
02:34I had a car run through a building.
02:36The building can see children.
02:37Oh no!
02:39Oxford did it!
02:41This little angel, Ainsley Grace Johnson, nicknamed Squirt, was killed in the crash.
02:47One of four fatalities.
02:49She recently celebrated her 8th birthday.
02:51Her father says she will forever leave a void in our broken hearts.
02:577-year-old Alma Bonerkampi and 18-year-old Riley Britton were also killed.
03:02Riley was about to start the University of Iowa.
03:05In this YouTube video, she makes banana bread.
03:08There's always one recipe in each family that everybody loves and shares.
03:12The fourth victim was seven years old.
03:15Six other children were injured in the tragedy at the Y-Not after-school camp in the small town of Chatham, Illinois.
03:22One of the victims was flown by helicopter to a local hospital.
03:26Cops say the car went in one side of the building and came out the other.
03:31You may have seen as many ambulances as you can get out here.
03:34Multiple casualties.
03:35I need EMS 1018.
03:36Police identified the driver as 44-year-old Marion Akers, a former school cafeteria worker.
03:44So far, she has not been charged.
03:46Oh, I did it!
03:48The governor of Illinois says he is horrified and deeply saddened over the loss of four bright and innocent young people with their whole lives ahead of them.
03:57Last week, a devastating wildfire in New Jersey sent smoke billowing over Manhattan.
04:02A 19-year-old is accused of starting the blaze, and that has put the spotlight on bonfire parties.
04:08They're popular with local teenagers.
04:10Stephen Fabian has our exclusive report.
04:13A bonfire blazes in the woods while teenagers party.
04:17It's a rite of passage for teens in southern New Jersey.
04:20But police say one bonfire got out of control and devastated thousands of acres, threatened homes, and led to huge clouds of smoke that triggered air quality alerts 50 miles away last week in New York City.
04:34What they do is they grab used pallets from the back of businesses, then bring those pallets into the woods to create the giant blazes.
04:42But just look what can happen if you're not careful and something goes wrong.
04:46Miles and miles of charred forest.
04:4919-year-old Joseph Kling is charged with arson for allegedly setting a bonfire that led to the disaster.
04:56His lawyer says he'll be vindicated.
04:59He was one of dozens of people at this event where this fire spread out of control and wreaked havoc.
05:05He did not like this fire.
05:06This could be anyone's house.
05:08Emma Shabbat and Addison Smith say they've attended many of the bonfire parties.
05:13I would say they happen every weekend, and there's lots of people that go.
05:18It can range from probably just like a couple friends, like maybe like 10 people, to easily over 100.
05:24They say Kling is a loner.
05:27This is video of Kling being bullied and taunted at a bonfire party last November.
05:32Look, he doesn't even try to defend himself.
05:35Do something.
05:35Do something.
05:36When you heard that he was the one picked up for starting the big fire in New Jersey, what was your reaction?
05:44It honestly doesn't shock me.
05:45It's always been an idea in the back of my head that something like this could happen.
05:49It's scary because half these kids don't have curfews or anything, whereas I need to be in my house by like 10 p.m.
05:56So I'm like always one of the first ones to leave.
05:58Are these bonfires in the woods ever safe?
06:00No, they're not.
06:02They are not controlled.
06:05There is an abundance of fuel, and there's no water supply to put the fire out.
06:08Despite the catastrophic wildfire, these young ladies say a bonfire party was held over the weekend.
06:14If cops come, usually everybody just runs.
06:17It looks like this is a lesson yet to be learned.
06:20The 19-year-old suspect in the arson case remains behind bars awaiting a bond hearing.
06:26Today marks 100 days since Donald Trump returned to the White House,
06:30but the president's approval ratings are definitely not where he would like them to be.
06:34And that led to a late-night White House meltdown.
06:38Adma Cogliano has details.
06:40The White House is playing defense today as the president's poll numbers plummet.
06:45Five major polls over the past week show historically low approval ratings.
06:50I look back at all of the polling you possibly did long before I was born,
06:54and Trump's 41% at 100 days is the worst on record.
06:59CBS News senior White House correspondent Ed O'Keefe is in Michigan,
07:03where the president is holding a rally tonight to celebrate his first 100 days.
07:08What do these polls mean for President Trump?
07:10It suggests that Americans are not happy about how he's handling the economy.
07:14More specifically, not happy with how he's fighting inflation.
07:17They've got growing concerns about his immigration plans.
07:20President Trump is lashing out today, refusing to accept the polls.
07:24The polls from the fake news are like the news itself.
07:27Fake, he posted.
07:29We are doing great, better than ever before.
07:32We've done everything, or it's in the process of being done.
07:35For instance, the border is in great shape.
07:3899.9% came out again today.
07:4099.9%.
07:41I would say that was my number one thing.
07:45The economy would be certainly right up there, and I think it's doing great.
07:50They generally dismiss any poll that they don't like,
07:53but that doesn't suggest that the president's in good shape.
07:55And in that case, they're dismissing just about every poll.
07:58There was major drama today after it was reported that Amazon was considering
08:02displaying how much more certain products would cost, with tariffs added.
08:08And that prompted an angry phone call from President Trump to Jeff Bezos.
08:13The president was so angered by this, he called up the founder of Amazon himself,
08:18Jeff Bezos, to complain.
08:19They said, quote,
08:20Of course, he was pissed.
08:22Why should a multi-billion dollar company pass off costs to consumers?
08:27Jeff Bezos was very nice.
08:29He was terrific.
08:30He solved the problem very quickly.
08:33And he did the right thing, and he's a good guy.
08:36It's officially been a hundred days of Donald Trump.
08:41I'm so tired.
08:43Of course, the late night comics had plenty to say about Trump's poll numbers.
08:48More than 70% of Americans say the economy today is either not so good or poor.
08:55The other 30% are either in a coma or in his cabinet.
09:00And now check this out.
09:01Talk about excitement in the streets.
09:03Scenes like this were playing out all over Europe
09:06when the lights finally came on after a massive power outage.
09:11The power's back.
09:12And locals throughout Spain and Portugal are thrilled.
09:21Oh!
09:22Let there be light.
09:46A moment to remember.
09:47The cause of the outage is in dispute,
09:53but authorities say there's no indication that it was a cyber attack.
09:57Back here at home,
09:58Beyonce kicked off her Cowboy Carter tour last night in Los Angeles
10:01in front of a star-studded crowd.
10:04Despite talk of a ticket slump, it was a packed stadium.
10:07And fans went wild when she flew above them in a classic car.
10:11Fiance riding high as she kicks off her highly anticipated Cowboy Carter tour.
10:20There she is in a red classic car suspended high above the crowd at SoFi Stadium in L.A.
10:26The superstar is clearly not afraid of heights
10:29because here she is on a horseshoe as she sings the Dolly Parton classic Jolene.
10:34Jolene.
10:35Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene.
10:37Look at all these memorable moments.
10:40Saddling up on a mechanical bull.
10:42Wearing an LED dress that changed designs as she sang.
10:48Texas Hold'em!
10:50Oprah was there singing along to Texas Hold'em.
10:54Hold'em, down, down, down, down, down, down, down, down, down, down, down.
10:57Then dancing arm-in-arm with Tyler Perry as if they were at a hoedown.
11:01Fans got the memo dressing in their favorite cowboy looks.
11:06There was chatter before the kickoff that ticket sales were mediocre.
11:11But clearly this was a packed house.
11:14It was a family affair with daughter Blue Ivy front and center.
11:18But the surprise was her 7-year-old daughter Rumi joining mom on stage.
11:23She sure loved the attention.
11:26Dare we say a star is born.
11:28Beyonce has four more shows in Los Angeles.
11:33Then she heads to Chicago.
11:34It was a story that shocked the nation.
11:38A little boy thrown off a third floor balcony inside the Mall of America by a man with mental health issues.
11:44Incredibly, the child survived.
11:46And now, six years later, we have an exclusive report on how he's doing.
11:51Here's Jim Array.
11:52It happened in the blink of an eye.
11:54Six years ago, a little boy was scooped up by a maniac and thrown off a third floor balcony at the Mall of America.
12:02Little Landon was with his mom and a family friend outside the Rainforest Cafe looking at the fake alligator.
12:08And the madman picked him out at random.
12:10I said, excuse me, do you not want us on this rock?
12:14And he said, oh no, you're fine.
12:16You're fine.
12:17And in that second is when he picked him up under his arms and ran and just threw him.
12:22You must have been in complete shock.
12:25Yes.
12:26I didn't think that was going to happen.
12:27As mom Carrie Hoffman raced to her injured son, the first miracle happened.
12:32Two nurses saw the fall.
12:34When they reached Landon, they immediately began CPR.
12:37He said he did not have a heartbeat and he had bones sticking out of his skin and they got him back to life.
12:44Landon was rushed to Children's Hospital in Minneapolis where a team of doctors were waiting for him.
12:49He remained in the hospital for four months, having more than 15 medical procedures.
12:54It sounds impossible that he would even survive, let alone be okay.
12:59How do you explain that?
13:00It is impossible.
13:01It is very impossible.
13:02There's no way.
13:03He should not be alive.
13:04The assailant, Emanuel Aranda, suffered from schizophrenia.
13:08He had been banned twice from the mall before throwing Landon off the balcony.
13:12Your act was evil and selfish.
13:14You chose to listen to the worst parts of yourself that day.
13:18Amazingly, Carrie says that she has forgiven him.
13:20This man didn't know me.
13:22He didn't know Landon.
13:22He didn't want to hurt us.
13:24He was just there because he was mad and wanted to kill somebody.
13:27Carrie writes about her family's journey in a new book, Miracle at the Mall.
13:31I wanted to get this all down in one spot so that I had this forever for me and my family.
13:38And here's that miracle boy today.
13:41Landon loves hockey.
13:44Hanging out with his buddies.
13:45All right, Landon, we're going to do our eye movements.
13:47Okay, stay focused on that.
13:49I'm going to try to distract you.
13:50Don't let me.
13:51He's still working on his recovery.
13:53We were with him as he got vision therapy to help control his eyes from drifting.
13:58I see a clock that's like some numbers are out and some are like in.
14:03So far, we're seeing his eye movements smooth out.
14:07His ability to converge his eyes is quickly improving.
14:11We're seeing improvements with his physical coordination.
14:15From surviving an unspeakable act of evil at America's largest mall to a typical 11-year-old boy.
14:22Come on, guys, let's go.
14:23A true miracle.
14:25We'll be back with more Inside Edition right after this.
14:29Next, demonic sea lion epidemic.
14:32This female sea lion was washed up on shore just a few hours ago and she's apparently having seizures.
14:38Now, demonic pelicans.
14:40Plus, legendary coach Bill Belichick and his 24-year-old girlfriend fight back after shutting down their train wreck TV interview.
14:49Not talking about this.
14:50No?
14:51No.
14:51What they're saying today.
14:54Inside Edition with Deborah Norville will be right back.

15:10I'm Michael from the Warren Treaty, and this is what my Ozempic era looks like.
15:14I'm lowering my A1C and lost some weight, too.
15:17I also learned some people take Ozempic to lower the risk of major cardiovascular events, like stroke, heart attack, or death.
15:25And others take it to lower the risk of worsening chronic kidney disease.
15:29Don't share needles or pens or reuse needles.

16:28Bye-bye, bucket.
16:29With the Swiffer Power Mop.
16:34There's a reason they don't call them clean bikes, am I right?
16:37Yeah.
16:39Because it's dirt bikes.
16:41Gas stations.
16:42Whew.
16:43You gotta start at the top and work your way down.
16:46Want me to do yours next?

17:08I and our little fighter, you ready to do this?
17:10Watch the next Inside Edition.
17:11First, it was sea lions acting strangely along the southern coast of California after getting sick from toxic algae in the water.
17:22Now, pelicans are being called demonic.
17:25Jim Murray joined a rescue group from SeaWorld trying to help them.
17:28This pelican, bobbing its head around, is afflicted with toxic algae.
17:33So is this pelican.
17:35The telltale sign, the weaving head.
17:37We've shown you lots of so-called demonic sea lions that experts say may be due in part to runoff from the L.A. wildfires.
17:45Now there's a wave of demonic pelicans.
17:47This unusual footage shows a sickened pelican sitting atop an airline ticket counter at John Wayne Airport in Orange County, California.
17:55It's thought to be suffering from domoic acid poisoning.
17:58Just look at that head bobbing back and forth.
18:01Here at the SeaWorld Rescue Center in San Diego, sick pelicans are receiving heated red lamp therapy.
18:07They're also sedated and hydrated.
18:09This handler carefully holds open a pelican's long beak and administers food down its throat.
18:15The workers also have their hands full dealing with 87 sick sea lions.
18:19I'm with the rescue team when they head out to save a sick sea lion known as number 88.
18:25This female sea lion was washed up on shore just a few hours ago and she's apparently having seizures.
18:30The team from SeaWorld is rushing in to rescue her and give her the treatment she needs.
18:36They cautiously approach the sea lion with a net.
18:39She's extremely weak, so they need to move quickly.
18:42With the help of local lifeguards, they haul the heavy sea lion onto an awaiting truck.
18:48This is a group effort here. We are getting so many calls.
18:52Once at SeaWorld, the sea lion is given emergency medical treatment.
18:56Her fur is shaved to identify her.
18:58She's injected with medication.
19:00She's even given an ultrasound to see if she's pregnant.
19:03The plan right now is to flush the toxins, give her some medicine to help her with her seizures.
19:08While I'm there, another six sea lion arrives.
19:12This one, just a pup.
19:14She's barking with energy.
19:16Let's say that's a good sign that she'll recover quickly and be released back into the wild.
19:21That's also the goal for these infected pelicans.
19:24When we come back, Super Bowl winning coach Bill Belichick and his much younger girlfriend
19:29in damaged control after what's being called a train wreck interview.

23:11are tight-lipped as they leave their hotel in New York.
23:15How do you think the CBS interview went?
23:17Now, Belichick and Jordan are fighting back, saying they're being unfairly tarnished after
23:23that train wreck interview with CBS Mornings co-anchor Tony Ducoppo.
23:28How did you guys meet?
23:30Not talking about this.
23:32No?
23:32No.
23:33Going on the offense, Jordan reposted an email from Belichick from earlier in the month,
23:39expressing his frustration with reporters during his book tour.
23:43This is about what I expected from the media, he wrote.
23:47Jordan says she has proof of how they met.
23:50She was just 19 and a college student when she found herself sitting next to Coach Belichick
